Dose anyone know how to enable and disable juicedefender via android intent, I'm trying to do it through app called llama because at night juice defender doesn't work well with a sleeping app I use
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
You can start an app using an intent, but you can't kill it using an intent. If you're rooted you can just run a script that kills it
Then you can combine that with something like tasker to kill it at night and then restart it in the morning
Kill:
Code:
killall com.xxx.xxx.juicedefender
#or if you know the process id
kill ID_HERE
Start:
Code:
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.xxx.xxx.juicedefender/MAIN_INTENT_NAME_HERE
You can decompile the juicedefender apk using apktool and then figure out what the Main intent is by taking a look at the AndroidManifest.xml

Yea I got that far but I can't find the way disable or enable, I can kill it but it comes back I know the package name is com.latedroid.juicedefender but I didn't see anywhere in the xml how to disable
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
You can use the "killall" command to kill the process, the killing part has nothing to do with intents

Com.latedroid.juicedefender/ disable doesn't work :/
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Thats what I'm saying...theres no "disable" intent that you can send to that application to turn it off
Instead, the app is either running or its not

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Well I figured it out on my own. For anyone that wants to fix wakelock issues after # type dumpsys power. If I have a wakelock issue it will say. If you do type killall com.android.phone hope I have someone out.

As for perflock, not really. I never have to use it. But there are a lot of tips and tricks, just what do you want to know exactly? And about to head out to get my tablet, so you can always pm me if you want/need to.
To enable softkeys, simply add the following line into your build.prop
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
And reboot.
VOILA!
Oh, and BTW, is there away to get rid of the hardware key light in cm10? That would add to the soft key effect and save battery.

Go to /sys/devices/platform/msm_ssbi.0/pm8xxx-core/pm8xxx-led/leds/button-backlight/
Open brightness and max brightness, and set the number to 0.
Basic method from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694375
It didn't stick the first time I tried it, but it seems to work now.
Edit: Never mind, reboot made it revert. Sorry.

Yup, tried it and reverted on reboot.

if only there were a way to do this but still be able to use lg notification app. that would be awesome. i absolutely love having the on screen buttons, it just seems easier, maybe it's just me, but having them serve as notifications is extremely useful...

Answered my own question.
XDA's policy to is to put things like guides and tutorials in the General section. Development is for software only. Moved to General.
my phone was working fine, then suddenly I keep getting this pop up message.. I included a screenshot of the message. It constantly keeps popping up. Help!!

Looks like your log provider apk is force closing. Are you running a stock or custom rom?

If you are rooted and have a custom recovery get into recovery (hold power and volume up and when you see the first samsung screen you can let go) scroll down to advance use the power button to select then scroll down to fix permissions power to select if asked choose yes and it will do it's thing usually takes a couple minutes when finished reboot and hopefully it will be problem solved
I only have the Android recovery

Oic yea can't do it with stock recovery
Go to applications in settings and then go to list all apps. See if the app is there. If it is, clear cache and see if that fixes it.
Also temporarily, you could try to use terminal emulator from play store to kill the process. Not sure if you need root to kill.
Type...
Code:
ps
to list processes
Code:
kill PID
to kill the specific process. Pid of the process to kill will be shown when you first type ps.

I went to apps and found the app.. Clear cache wasn't an option so I forced it to stop. I don't get the pop up anymore but when I click the phone app or my messenger app, it just goes to a black screen.

Hi I was wondering if there any setting or app that let me put notification at bottom. I Google and people say set DPI to 213 to force it bottom but its not working. I'm using carbon ROM and it doesn't have that tablet mode option. If any one knows please guide me thanks

I don't think this will help you, anyway. That build.prop tweak just gives you onscreen controls. I've never used Carbon so I'm not sure what the options are. PA includes a Tablet UI.

He's right. I misread the op. But yes, end of build.prop. I used es file explorer.

First I did used es explorer to edit it and put it at end. But won't let me save . second if doing the edit won't put my notification at bottom like tablet ui mode?

Nah the edit I told you about won't do that. And root explorer is the best alternative.

So I get this icon that shows my CPU usage and battery that appeared randomly on my notification bar. I'm not sure how it got there but I'm quite used to it now and like the looks of it. Does anyone know how to enable or disable it just incase it goes away on it's own? Or should I be aware of it because it can be a harmful third party app?

It's actually getting on my nerves now and I want it off and I don't know how, I restarted my phones a few times and it's still there.

Are you using any 3rd party app that monitor your cpu status ect.? I know when I used "Quick System Info" app I had the option to shows those info on my status bar.
Does it also show in the drop down panel? If it does long press on it and chose "App info".

Open your notifications and tap and hold the notification then click app info.
Nothing shows when I drag the notification bar but the same thing it does now. It covers my icons under it and if I were to be on Youtube watching a video on fullscreen it still shows. I haven't installed anything in about a week either. I don't want to take it to T-Mobile and ask since my phones rooted also

Can you provide a list of apps that you have installed? It would help narrow down which programs have the permission to draw overlays and that would likely reveal the culprit. Also, have you tried disabling the Xposed framework to make sure it's not one of the modules you installed (doubt it, but worth the trouble)?

You've installed something recently or changed an app's settings recently. That is an output from a monitoring app. CPU, GPU, or something of that sort.
You need to check that app(s) and uncheck whatever seems to point to showing it.
