[Q] Need help going back to stock ROM from newest HBOOT - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys... been doing this a while but recently I decided to sell my old evos that were rooted, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to go back to stock.
First of all, my device is the HTC Evo 4G and I had the Amon-RA v2.3 recovery installed. I booted into that and reflashed back to stock using pc36img_supersonic_s_sprint_wwe_3.70.651.1_radio_2.15.00.11.19_nv_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip. Now I just need to relock and I'm golden, right? But how do I relock? to that just fine.
Currently I'm at HBOOT 2.10 and radio 2.15.00.11.19 and I'm unlocked with S-ON (I am NAND unlocked with no watermark)
Thanks for any advice

Could you post a picture of your bootloader screen?

NAND UNLOCKED WITH S-ON AND NO WATERMARK?--technically doesn't make sense. Your NAND is only unlocked if your bootloader reads either S-OFF or UNLOCKED on an Evo.
If you are S-ON with no watermark, then it sounds like you are already NAND locked. Do you not have a stock ROM or do you have Superuser installed or have a custom recovery? If so, all you need to do is run the PC36IMG file again. You have the correct one. If not, then your phone is already fully unrooted with NAND lock.
I'm not understanding what you mean, because your NAND is already locked, unless you want the Hboot with the watermarked "LOCKED OWW" that you really don't need if the phone is already unrooted. If you do let us know and we will give you a link.

Interesting. I thought after flashing the ROM I would be still rooted. I tried flashing RUU_SuperSonic_GB_Sprint_WWE_4.54.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.0808_NV_2.15_release_220182_signed.exe and this is the result:

No. Nand unlock is basically an unlocked or S-OFF bootloader on a Evo.

Your phone is really all set, unless you want to update it to the latest update. In that case you could just OTA it, then factory reset.
AND PLEASE HIT THE THANKS BUTTON IF THIS HELPED YOU.

Good... I should be ok to sell it then. I'll hit thanks for everyone who replied

Yeah...thats why I asked for the photo
You're good to go then!

Unroot

Looking for a way to unroot my EVO. The files I have found are no longer available. Can anyone help me out?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Depends on your hboot version.
A little more info would help. What HBOOT? Are you S-Off, or On? Have stock recovery, or custom? Have stock rom, or custom?
i want to unroot also, as im giving this phone to my son. im running Revolutionary and Swagged out Stock. its been so long since i did this i dont remember how to check what h-boot, s-off/on, etc...
Sorry guys, I am S-off and hboot is 2.10. 0001. Hardware version 003. My problem is that I have a bad charging port and need to unroot so I can get it fixed at a sprint repair center. Running custom recovery.. armon 2.?

[CDMA] [Update] Firmware update OTA

here is the update for the wildfires (VM)
This includes radio, and hboot.
It is custom recovery safe, and requires unlocked or soff

Will yu update bluerdige 2.1 with this

Actually, some of it will be updated. Im adding everything thats been updated, and making an ODEX and DEODEX'd version for everyone and fixing some small bugs. This download is the one thing that wont be included and for full tech support from team blueridge you must update to this radio and hboot (only if you are Virgin Mobile USA)
I'm on virgin so triple yay!!!!!!!!!!

Will I have to re-unlock bootloader after this? Also, is the Goldcard S-OFF method compatible with this Radio/HBOOT?
Also, what radio version is this?
Soff before you upgrade, if you want to soff. Soff will always stick, along with unlock. You wont have to re-unlock the bootloader. The radio Im unsure of, but was included by HTC. And i can attest that the signal is way better for me atleast. It solved the problem where I was getting an error with too much data streaming. Hboot is v 1.10.0001
How long should it take to parse? It found the PG76IMG.zip, but it said it was parsing and never did anything. I waited 5-10 minutes. There wasn't a progress bar in the top right like normal, either.
I am having the same problem
Shouldn't take too long. The only thing I can think of is that your not S-Off

I'm not. When I follow the S-OFF tutorial, the Goldcard.exe app doesn't reformat so I reformat elsewhere and I continue the process after wiping on another computer and HBOOT tells me "Security Fail!" when I try to flash PG76DIAG.zip and PG76DIAH.nbh. However, since S-OFF problems aren't directly related to this, I'll post in the Blue Ridge thread or general.
You upgraded before soff... Downgrade to the oldest possible hboot ruu and then soff and then upgrade again
i installed it but the screen became off and now it doesn't start... what can i do to restore it? i can't also switch on the phone with vol - and power... please help me
this is VM only. But an ruu should do the trick
May I ask what's new?

A new radio with slightly better reception and a locked hboot.

I thought so too.

Its not "rubbish" its an update with a better radio, no recovery gets wiped, and if your smart your already soff so you can downgrade hboot if you wish. But if you want fastboot commands you must update your hboot, and unlock. Even With LOCKED at the top of the screen you can still flash whatever you want in zip form.. LEARN Before you post...

Droid Incredible Return to Stock Problem

Hello Genius developers at XDA!
I have a bit of an issue
I got my hands on a Droid Incredible running stock 2.3.4 and decided to root it. I unlocked my bootloader using HTCDev, downgraded to 2.2, rooted, flashed CWM, flashed the unrevoked forever s-off patch, flashed superuser, then began testing custom roms. I installed CyanogenMod 7.2 to the device for a while but decided to return to stock. I then flashed the unrevoked forever s-on patch and it went fine. I then tried to flash 2.2 to the device via RUU and it came up saying "ERROR 155." I figured I would try the HBOOT method but nothing appears to happen when I try this. The blue bar appears, it loads, then nothing. I tried to flash 2.3.4 to the device via RUU and got the same "ERROR 155." I don't know what else to try and I cannot find anything else. My bootloader is unlocked, according to HBOOT I have version 1.02.0000, also my radio is 2.15.00.07.28. I tried flashing HTCDev's HBOOT just to see what happens and I got the same error as mentioned above. Basically I can flash any rom I want to besides stock. I would like to return to stock rom, remove root, be on 2.3.4, and get rid of CWM. However, if i can, I'd like to retain my unlocked bootloader.
Please let someone know how to fix this or maybe we can come up with an idea.
Thanks
Atomix96
Did you make a nandroid backup of the stock rom to flash back to?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
Put it back to S-OFF and try again... It could be because of the new HBOOT
I did make a nandroid of stock but I believe its rooted.

Alright I flashed soff again and the hboot installed. I then used ruu to install froyo to update to gb. Froyo installed but I still have soff and no longer have custom recovery. The device also won't install gb and it shows a failure image when in recovery. Anyone know how I can get s-on? Also I believe the recovery failure is due to having an unlocked bootloader which I plan on relocking

Either install custom recovery with ADB or use the regular UrEVOked to flash clockwork.
---------- Post added at 11:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:16 PM ----------
Then relock your bootloader by typing into adb fastboot_oem_lock that should allow an RUU for GB to run
Alright I used unrevoked to root and flash clockwork. I installed s-on and returned to froyo. Now the bootloader won't relock. I typed in fastboot OEM lock and it says nothing after <waiting for devices>
