hello all!
i am trying out new roms on my xperia arc. its rooted, bootloader unlocked. i successfully tried cm7. anyway, now i am switching to xperia mod. i have the latest doom kernel, i flash the rom, restart from cwm and then the device is simply stuck at bootscreen [where is android wearing assassin clothes ] factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, all done. i dont know where i am lagging! facing same issue in arconium too! the original one, stock rom, works perfect!
Flash correct Kernel.
Than wipe all another time.
Get boot.img in .zip file, extract, and flash it from flashboot.

sorry mate, i am not getting this exactly what you mean. please be little more clear?
also i already tried reflashing the kernel through
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
after installing the rom and facing the issue. still no way!
1-You have tried to flash a kernel wich not supports stock .62 rom based, in this case you have to take the correct kernel (ex. doomkernel v18 for stock) and flash it by fastboot.
Doomkernel for CM7 is different from Doomkernel for stock.
If you were on doomkernel for CM7 with CM7 rom previously, now you have to switch on doomkernel for stock to install and make functional a stock based rom like Xperia Mod
OR
2-You are on the correct Doomkernel but you have to install the 1,6Ghz version for the devices that have boot issue with 2 Ghz version (as my phone), look at the Doomkernel's thread.

Thankyou very much for your reply.
1. I have the latest doomkernel v18 only. and yeah, the one for stock rom! i am running the stock rom on it.
2. I havent tried this. i am using 2ghz one. will give a shot to 1,6ghz one. but xperia mod or arconium is giving the same bootloop on stock kernel too!
Also my current stock rom is .48 build. does this has something to do with any of this?
Flash the boot.img file which you will get in the ROM original Zip file.
Usually DoomKernel works with all but its buggy with a *Few* Roms.....
So try flashing the kernel provided in the zip

There is no rom provided in the zip. Its written on its description page that it works best with doom kernel!

@all, thank you all for support! i retried with 1,6ghz doomlord kernel. very first try this didnt work. i tried again, this time, before and after flashing of rom, i cleared cache, wiped data, factory reset and dalvik cache too! and whoa! worked! i am loving it all! thank you all for replies!
I've been trying to flash CM 7.2.0 and every time I do it, it either A) freezes on the kernel or B) freezes on the boot animation. My bootloader is unlocked. Here are the steps that I've tried.
1. Flash R800x_3.0.1.E.0.88_Verizon.ftf
2. Activated phone, wifi, and whatnot. Play around with it for a few minutes.
3. Flashed the kernel that came with FXP CM7.2.0 zeusc.
4. Boot up into recovery. Wipe user data, cache, dalvik cache.
5. Flash CM7.2.0 zeusc zip.
6. Reboot and the boot animation freezes. I've waited up to 30 minutes and no change. Pulled the battery out, turned on, still freezes on boot animation.
I've done the same thing with R800x_4.0.2.E.57_Verizon.ftf and still no luck. Any ideas?

Yes I've flashed a ROM before. Following these same steps, I was able to boot CM9. I've also managed to get AokPlay, Paranoid Android and a few other ROMs running on my device. I always flash back to stock before attempting to flash a new ROM.

on the thread you have downloaded the file are the users facing the same problems or just you? must be not supported by your model or the compiled file was not a success to let you boot... if you do check, make sure you read all the pages on that thread...

If you are still having trouble flashing CM7, I would suggest downloading from zeusc section of http://get.cm
Or, you can try one of the many CDMA optimized ICS/JB ROMs.
You may have to wipe everything a few times. Of course you can always use my modified cm7 which has autorotation unlike any other cm7 for zeusc lol

I might switch back to CM9 or Paranoid. I've tried the JB ports. One has working data but no sound, and the other CDMA has everything working except I couldn't get data to work. Thanks for that URL, which one would you recommend? RC1, 2, 3 or stable?

If the get.cm doesn't work either, I'll go ahead and try the one in your signature. If all else fails, I'll probably go back to CM9 or Paranoid.
Thanks for all of the help you guys, this is a pretty nice community. :3
Sorry to double post, but I tried the ones from get.cm and the modified one from agraceful, but both froze on the boot animation then crashed and froze on the kernel. I think I'm just gonna give up on this particular ROM.
Check what kind of kernel you using.
I had simillar problem whed used kernel from XDA downloaded file. When used from file downloaded from CM project site it runs with no problems.
I have no idea why that happen, maybe on XDA forum is different modificated version for 800x or 800i etc. and not working with all phones.
My friend is currently running Arconium ICS on his Xperia, and now when I tried to install CM9 (Did full wipe > install CM > install gapps in CWM) it just gets stuck at the boot logo (SONY). After recovering the backup of Arconium in CWM it boots up fine again.
Since the boot logo didn't change, I'm thinking CM9 maybe didn't install a new kernel or something? Is there something I can do to make sure that CM9 fits as well as possible? If kernel switching is on the table I'd like to be able to do this from CWM.
Thank you!

Do I have to do this via flashtool? No way to do it from inside CWM? Please excuse if this is a stupid question, I'm not still a 100 % sure what boot.img, recovery, kernel and all these are and how they fit together.

Yes, through the FlashTool is safer.

Boot.img is the kernel in a compiled file, which needs to be installed via fastboot. Flashtool includes fastboot aswell, so you can install the kernel(boot.img) using it.
Recovery is a certain 'program' used to install custom stuff, make full backups(Nandroid backup) and restore them, wipe/format partitions and some other stuff. Recovery can be included already inside the kernel, but there is also possibility to install it on /system partition for those who can't unlock bootloader and/or install custom kernel.
My recommendation - Don't do it if you don't understand anything. You should go and learn about the whole Android first, get yourself familiar with how to recover the phone(install stock firmware etc), what are the terms that we use, what is what etc, then come back. Else...you might get yourself a nice (temporary) brick and then you have another problem, how to get back the phone.

Obviously you didnt flash the kernel..and before doing that u need to make sure if ur bootloader is unlocked..if it is unlocked then only you can proceed with flashing the kernel and then installing the ROM.

Hello, how are you?
I have a problem with all ROM CM9 based, Wi-Fi stops working in mysterious ways, after flashing the ROM, is connected to wireless networks, but then still waits IP address and the process becomes cyclical becomes not connected to any other network.
I tried to change the baseband but nothing changed, I tried a variety of ROM CM9 based and all this problem occurs. I need help! :crying:
Sorry for my poor English.
EDIT
If you have this problem use a root file manager.
Go to /data/misc/dhcp and delete all the files in it.
It will happen once in a while. When it happens, just repeat the procedure.
Thank you all for your help.

Ok, I hate to send you through all the trouble again, but make sure you're using Zeus ROMs and not Zeusc.
Copy CM9 to your SD Card
Copy the modules for the kernel listed below to SD card too
Flash this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781677
Press back when it vibrates on bootup to go into recovery
Do a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache in recovery
Install the ROM
Install the wifi modules
Reboot phone

I tried also with that kernel, using the Zeus ROMs and following the steps you indicate.
Above all ROMs based on CM9 worked perfectly on my terminal, but has less than a month that does not work correctly.
It's funny because with the ICS-based Beta ROM I have no problem.

Yeah I guessed that it must be something in data, because flashing another rom without wiping data would of course leave all data alone, the bad along with the good.
I've been trying out multiple ICS ROMS for my R800x (FXP, AOKP, CM9, PlAyOPS and maybe something else, I've lost track) and I can only get the WiFi to turn on with PlAyOPS ROM. It's not a connection issue, I cannot actually get the WiFi to switch on, the slider is grayed out and it won't even slide over to the on position. I've tried the WiFi fix zips that are brought up on the ROM specific threads to no avail. I think I've tried every kernal/ROM/WiFi fix combination that I've come across. I'm currently using Keiran's 2.6.32.9 Darkforest kernal but I have also tried the FXP kernal and the LuPus v3 kernal.
The reason I'm not just sticking to the PlAy OPS ROM is that I use the bluetooth audio feature quite frequently in both my cars and it doesn't work correctly on PlAyOPS. I was able to get the bluetooth audio to work on FXP and, if I remember correctly CM9. I haven't tried bluetooth audio on AOKP yet. If I could get the WiFi to work on either of these ROMS I would be extremely happy.
I've been searching the internet and scouring this forum for a fix for my issue for nearly a month but I cannot find a solution for my specific problem. I greatly appreciate any assistance!

well, i went back to stock, flashed the kernal, wiped all my data, flashed the FXP kernal then re-installed FXP with no luck. I tried flashing the wifi zips after than without success. i guess i'm stuck with what i have unless there's something else i could try.

i used FXP 132. I know it's not the latest but I'm sure that it was when I downloaded it a month ago. The zips were cleverly named wififix2, WiFi_FiX_LuPuSv3 and the other was CDMA_mega_fix_v2_by_Leraeniesh. The last one had a WiFi fix in it by Atarii or someone like that.
had the same problem on my play (GSM version) here is what i did. and im sure it will work for you. flash the latest FTF for your device (Baseband).
when done Put the CM 9 Kernal on the phone. Boot in to recovery. do a factory reset. flash the CM 9 reboot and you are good to go.
