Someone please help. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have a tmobile t889 note 2. I broke the screen. I took it to a shop to have the screen replaced. The place broke my digitizer while fixing glass. They then used an n7100 digitizer and when I got the my phone back it wouldn't even boot. They refused to fix it so I started tryingg to fix it myself. I got it working perfect now except for a whole day it kept saying no sim card installed. Well I finally got it to read that the sim card is there but now it just says no mobile network available. I have tried all the basics like made sure data was on. Checked my apn settings alk that good stuff but to no avail. It still says no mobile network available. I tried full reset, full wipe and fresh install of x9 nothing is working.has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Okay so it sounds blacklisted... or you're sim card reader some how lost a reader.
Check the serial number in settings and see if its the same one you have on the box the phone came with. If so then youre good. If not the people who "helped" you replaced youre phone with someone elses thats been reported stolen.
I'm a consultant... ask me anything... I'll run away.

Just because I was curious I did an imei check. And very strange it came back clean and the imei does match the one from my box,but when I checked it it shows up on the imei website as an n7100 now. I don't know what I should do. It sucks I have this beautiful fully working perfect condition note 2. But it is basically just a 5.5 inch wifi tablet. It still says mobile network unavailable.

Small Claims Court. I know that it cost a little money to file a claim but this is your only choice.
As a side note: As a technician, I would be shamed at myself for doing what they did. They had no clue of what they were doing.

You should have another shop to look at it to diagnose what the first shop did. Get that in writing.
What I am thinking is that they swapped more than what they said. Most likely because they didn't know what they were doing, were lazy, and wanted this device out of thier face. Just changing the digitizer doesn't change the imei. That is why I believe they change more than what they said.
Here is the thing. Old school days of computing technicians would get used parts to make repairs more affordable to the customers. But with cellular tablets and "smartphones", you can cause problems to the customer if you use the wrong part. This is specially true when using devices, that can be blacklisted, as spare parts. So technicians have to know what they are doing when using used devices as parts.
These guys don't know what they are doing. And I wonder where they are getting thier used devices for spare parts.
Setup a case then file the claim.

Is There A Root For Boost Mobile Epic Touch On FH29

I just bought my Galaxy S II (Epic Touch 4G) for Boost Mobile a few days ago, it is running on android 4.0.4 build fh29. I am curious if there is a root available for this version of android. The model number of my phone is SGH-D710

I think that's not intended for the Original Galaxy S2 from Boost Mobile (FH29)... (correct me if I'm wrong) Maybe it works but I don't want to try that, If anyone comes up with a root specifically for this one please let us know.....

I mean... It looks like a workaround of a sprint (rooted) rom to make it work in the new GS2 from boost.... isn't it?

Download Agat's latest kernel and the SuperSU.zip from crawj.
Will also be helpful if you have the stock kernel in case you want to flash it back.
1) Flash Agat's kernel by Odin.
2) Either flash crawj's SuperSU.zip or PM me and I have another one that will do the trick.
That's it! You're now rooted.
You can flash back the stock kernel by Odin if you really wanted to after doing this.
The system update FI22 is out... (Boost Mobile GS2)
Problems if you have FH29 rooted and want to update to FI22:
I'm running now the FH29 and tried to update it to the newest version (FI22) but that gave me an error that didn't surprise me because I'm rooted.
I did a Nandroid backup before anything....
I went back to stock and did both updates FH29 and FI22, then I rooted the phone (flashed Agat and then Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip), everything seemed ok until I realized the 3G wasn't working no matter what I tried. I flashed my Nandroid backup on top of this without results. Finally, I went back to stock again, updated to FH29, and flashed my Nandroid backup and everything is working now... (without FI22)
If anyone has a solution for this let me know, it looks like this rooting metod doesn't work for FI22, for some reason blocks the 3G and I don't know what else....
Thanks

[Q] build JZO54K ALK7 trying to root- how to auto update?

Hello all,
Total newb trying to root the note 2 att I have- its in build JZO54K ALK7. I noticed from the forum post 'mskip's
SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 TOOLKIT AUTO UPDATE V3.1.7 "
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052779
that the root capability for my specific build was just released via version 3.1.9 of this program. So does that mean I have to download a new version of the file? When I execute the toolkit application and when it says "check for new updates" and I say yes, it just times out- I suspected this is because I haven't donated. Is there a way to be able to download the 3.1.9 without donating? I am trying to use the TWRP program, but if I go into it and when they ask what device it is available for, my i317 note 2 device is not available in the list.
I am willing to donate but I am still a little unsure on how to go about it, and I also wanted to make sure everything works with my note 2.
Maybe some more help on how to go about updating and installing the new toolkit for my note 2 will be greatly appreciated.
thanks!
From what I read you don't need to buy the paid version in order to root.

Well right, I understand that- but what I was wondering was even for the free version, if I can use the current version to root my 4.1.2 device, or do i need to follow some procedure to manually upgrade the toolkit? Or do I not have to worry about it?

[Q] Rooting & where should I be?

Purchased an unlocked international N7100 GT-N7100 running 4.1.1 JellyBean last Nov. from Newegg. When I got to the States I installed a t-Mobile SIM card at which point I noted Settings showed Baseband ver. N7100UBALJ1; Kernel ver. SMP PREEMPT Tue Oct 2...KST 2012.
Tried rooting (w/out success*) several+ times this morning using ExynosAbuse-v1.40.apk.
Right now Settings shows JB 4.1.2; Baseband ver. N7100UBDLL3; Kernel ver. 3.0.3l-749832 [email protected]#1, SMP PREEMPT Wed Dec 26...; Build JZO54K.N7100UBDLL3.
Not sure if the change is due to my failures w/Exynos today or if Samsung snuck in an update last Dec b/4 I got that option turned off. Actually, I'm thinking a phone purchased unlocked probably doesn't have the same software as one purchased from a specific carrier/vendor so I'm not even sure I'm in the right forum!
Just want is to get this damn thing rooted but I'm so confused and frustrated...sleepless...at this point from searching, reading, comparing, etc. the different threads that I'm afraid I'm going to make an unforgivable blunder. Know myself well enough that I won't give up until it's either rooted or bricked and I'll be stuck w/a disposable phone or one of my daughter's ancient castoffs.
Would someone tell where I should go from here? Also, does Chainfire's new ver. 4.805 change what one should be doing now? i.e., easiest/safest way to go?
*Also tried unsuccessfully to post in Simplelife's "Root T889..." thread, but seems the rules have changed since last I visited.

because you have the International version it is different from the T-mobile's T889 version. I would recommend getting the Note II all in one toolkit. It will help you root/flash/backup your phone with ease.... just make sure when you're flashing anything to your phone you're using files for the INTERNATIONAL version not T-MOBILE

Appears to me Andromizer backs up most everything, but that it requires Root and Busybox.
I did find reference to Simple ADB Backup (Holo Backup) in Troutman's Let's Talk About ADB frontpage post of January 21st that doesn't require root but it cautions against backing up system apps. I haven't yet discovered the difference between what Holo terms 'system apps' and 'device data' (safe to backup). I am assuming that imei/efs/nv are system. Could some clue me in?

[Q] note 2 root with build JZO54K.L900VPAMC2 TOOL KIT?

Hi guys I'm new to the forum as yall can prolly tell. I've seen a lot of great info on here and I've got a few questions myself. I did do a search with what I put in the subject of this thread and it only came up with one thread. Now onto the goods.
I have a sprint galaxy note 2 with android 4.1.2 Build number JZO54K.L900VPAMC2,.kernel version [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT Wed march 27, Hardware versionl900.09, baseband version l900VPAMC2.
Now my question is (or one of them lol) will that build number work with the root toolkit? I did see sprint has the 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 but neither of those android versions have the build # I have on my phone. Ive been trying to read a lot before I go rooting my phone and couldn't find anything on this. I also did notice that it has an option for if you didn't see your build number (or something like that). I need to know if this tool kit would work and what options will I have to choose when using it? Do I use the option that says my build # is not shown? I can follow directions and am no dummy but am a newb when it comes to computer talk language. So please someone break it down for me. Thank you all very much

Could you twll me which options you choose in the toolkit if its not too much trounle? I dont want tk brick my baby. I swear my gf thinks I love my phkne more than her haha. Like theres no question about that....of course I do hehe I kid

Just received an update i747UCUFNJ1 on my stock ATT S3

Does anyone know of any change log?
the android version is 4.4.2 only (i hoped for 4.4.4 when I saw the update)
update size around 68 mb
Kernal compilation date 1 Oct 2014
i747UCUFNJ1
I think some time ago I saw a rumor about getting 4.4.4, but I am not sure.
I periodically check for updates on my phone and did so yesterday. I have to wait about 5-6 hours before I can check again.
Just got it on my stock phone. It is UCUFNJ1 and it's still 4.4.2
So much for the rumor of getting 4.4.4

Change log is here: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB415621&cv=820&_requestid=2612019#fbid=UM4lpkyJ71-
It just looks like more bloat and a patched kernel so towelroot will no longer work. It might even lock the bootloader.

I had rooted my son's Galaxy Note 2 to put viper. Tibu. Greenify. But let everything stock. He was pushed the update overnight and I'm afraid it does soft brick a rooted phone. You need Odin files to get back... We can't find one that doesn't fall to download.
