Hi all,
was wondering, is there an app with which I can call a friend over wifi on his desire/android phone?
Simple app with only that function. I don't like fring or any of such type.
Thanks.

The original thread with all the info is on xda if you search for tikl...
Sent from my phone.
I noticed TiKL before opening this thread, but I rejected it thinking of it as something complicated, but will give it a look now
EDIT: cannot use TiKL, I get the warning saying that my phone is programmed with an empty number, and to call my carrier to fix that before I can use TiKL... way too complicated.
Plus, it seems to be Push To Talk and I don't need that... I would like an app in which I can add my friend and he can add me, and we can call eachother over wifi if/when we're both online
There is always a sip setup: sipdroid/google voice all setup through a sip client, its a bit of a setup though, you may find some easy sip clients on the market though I havent looked lately. But thats pretty much a sure fire way to get free calls over wifi & data.

Even though I'm also looking for one, there have been many topics on this. Please use the search function.
In summary; No, there is no SkypeOut program for Android right now. The closest we have is Fring, but I've heard that it can be quite buggy.
Nimbuzz is the only programm which is able to login using your Skype Account and placing voice calls, but sound quality is disappointing.
For chat I prefer Imo.Im
Nimbuzz and fring used to be able to do Skype (badly) but they no longer support Skype at all from what I can see...
I am not aware of anything that can use plain Skype on android right now. Other threads mentioning fring, nimbuzz etc are out of date.
Hi, does anybody knows if there is a call Filtering App for WP7 or if there is one in works?
As far as I know that's impossible with the current API.
There is no current application that can do that at this time.
Thank u for the info, This is feuture I need, I really like my Samsung Focus; but until i'm able to get a call filter app for I ieatehr will return the phone and get an andorit phone, or i just going to keep using my HD2 untils there is a app that filter calls.
You could use Google Voice as a workaround to filter your calls for you... That's the solution I'm using now and it works well.
Anyone could suggest auto-reply app where you could make whitelist for the people accepting calls and the rest auto-answering with SMS?
Used to use Advanced Call Manager on symbian where you could define profiles based on provider station you are currently connected on.Took some time to detect all the cells in home, work, caffe area but it switches profile s automatically later on and at home it accepts family calls but respond all the rest with SMS.
The droid version of this app does not have this functionality anymore and just as an answering machine is in my opinion way too expensive.
Suggestions and experiences welcome.
Thx
Edit:
The closest app I found would be TEXTBACK Geo but it seems unavailable :=(
http://textlogic.com/textback/
bump.
I can not believe no one is using busy self answering app in this board ?
Miui has one where when someone calls you it sends a text with your permission saying Not Available or some other message like that1
Thank you aaasey786 , but not exactly what i am looking. Any other thoughts?
Hello everybody,
I just got my N7 WiFi and are wondering if there is any way i could receive my phone calls and sms`es from my Xperia Z1. I always have my phone with me and its always conected to hotspot.
I use my tablet alot and it would be great if i could receive calls and sms on my tablet instead of switching device all the time.
I hope there is some app/mod for this and i appriciate all answers!
Thank you,
anyone??
@Smurflin96
for calls you can forward your number to Google Voice and use Grooveip to make the actual calls from the tablet i think the paid version has texts too
for texts you can use
1)SyncSMS(Requires internet on both)
2)TexTab(Bluetooth)
if it's WiFi only you won't be able to use any form of text/message/call service as that uses gsm and the WiFi version doesn't support that, hardware wise, there is no chip for it! It can't work.
You'd have to use something internet based like skype or viber
You could try Mighty Text (Free) or Tablet Talk ($2.99). They both pretty much work the same way but Mighty Text uses a server to relay sms and tablet talk is direct using wifi or bluetooth. With Mighty text I know you can see who's calling you but I'm not sure if you can answer the call. I know tablet talk you can if you have it set up to do so. I tried both and I ended up liking Tablet Talk more but you should give them a try.
U can text from your Google voice account if u have one. As far as calls Im not sure..
