[Q] How to root Incredible 2 droid??? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Hi,
I have this f.....g Verizon HTC Incredible 2 droid (Verizon model of Incredible S)
Right now I have stock rom:
2.3.4
Software 5.10.605.9
Kernel 2.6.35.9
There is no OTA update to ICS
My problem is how to root this phone???
I have managed to unlock bootloader, using the htcdev, but I can not root it. I have tried everything. Whenever i fastboot flash recovery (CWM 4.01.4 or 5.0.20) it is ok, but still, I am not able to root. When I hit recovery after flash, it is just showing first htc screen, and nothing happens.
In my phone, it goes like this:
*** UNLOCKED ***
VIVO_W XB SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT - 0.98.0000
RADIO-1.09.01.1111
eMMC - boot
Jul 18 2011
Can anybody help me with this?

Problem solved!

The same issue.
I have had the same problem. I unlocked my boot loader, with S-ON..and i tried rooting the phone through Htc Supertool(said ROOTED)..it has installed/pushed the Superuser file into the phone..but hasn't really rooted the phone.. So whenever i try using apps that need a 'Rooted' phone..it says that Superuser has denied permissions..i just dont know what to do..Help for me would be totally appreciated as well..

Hi, I have a VM Wildfire S that I just returned to stock on with unlocked bootloader, s-off, and finally rooted it . The all in one utility from rezo69 works pretty well to get it rooted.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697985 The only issue i had with it was the recovery that flashes during part of the root process wont boot on my phone. So after getting the root files on my sd card I had to flash another recovery to be able to get into it(unofficial cwm 5.0.2.6 works well, thanks alquez). Also the su binary installed is out of date and wont update for me so I had to go to the chainsdd su website and download a recovery flashable zip for the binary. Some patience and googleing you should be able to figure it out.
Thanks
Thanks a lot guys, I got it rooted I tried your tool GuitarFreak12 but sadly it diden't work :/ i downloaded that custom recovery sugested by bobdarkside and then used a flashable root from the user rgsgroup2005, and that finaly worked. also fixed another problem; my CWM on my last wildfire s froze up when i tried to flash anything. This one worked.
Thanks a lot guys!
Flash CWM (http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvelc.img)
HBOOT>Fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvelc.img
Flash http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.2-arm-signed.zip and http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip (You must flash BOTH)
You are now rooted.

[SOLVED] [Q] Flashed 4EXT recovery, now stuck at boot

Hi, I unlocked the phone visa HTCDev, and flashed 4EXT recovery (through fastboot) and tried to flash CM7 (after full wipe). The phone now gets stuck at the white screen with HTC logo. I also tried to flash Android Revolution HD, the phone remains stuck at the white screen.

HTCDev is not a good option. Always use AAHK to root and S-OFF. Sashank has given some pretty good insight into this topic and ways to amend your mistake. Look at this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31211732&postcount=396
Hope it helps.

[Q] Trying & Failing to root HTC Desire HD! Please Help

Hi Everybody
I found this guide to root the HTC Desire HD.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039
Started of with Hboot: went all the way through to click next to start and i get ERR[191]: Rom not supported.
checked my hboot version got this:
*** LOCKED (OOW) ***

MICROP-4038
RADIO-26.14.04.28_M

I have rom version: 3.12.405.1
any ideas why i cant get past err191 ?
You've already got the updated hboot hence why its says 2.xxx.029 and also says locked. The word locked should have been abvious if you read that guide...
Ok so now you need to unlock your boot loader. You need to goto htcdev and follow the steps for getting unlock token then follow the steps that will be sent to the email address you signed up with.
Next flash custom recovery, I recommend only 4ext.
Then either flash super user zip found somewhere on xda (search)
Or flash custom rom in 4ext then flash boot.img found inside custom rom zip file.
Instructions for those steps are here on dhd forums just go find them.

Tried HTC Bootloader but that didnt' work so tried the AAHK2 and after a downgrade it rooted it.
Now I assume that if I want ICS on the DHD I simply download the ROM and slap it on the SDCard the hboot to install it?

Well putting the ROM file on the SD card is correct but you'll need a custom recovery to install it.

[Q] HTC Wildfire S - CWM Recovery

I have an HTC Wildfire S [EU]. Following are the details of it.
Model Number - HTC Wildfire S A510e
Android version - 2.3.5
ROM Version - 2.26.401.3
I wanted to root the phone. So following a tutorial I first unlocked the bootloader using HtcDev.com. Now Hboot shows as follow:
*** UNLOCKED ***
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099
Then I downloaded (recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel) and flashed it using adb. So far everything went ok. After that I Hboot the device and went to the recovery mode. But it won't start the CWM recovery. Just keep stuck in the HTC Boot screen [Logo screen]. Any solution for this situation?

Hi!
I installed stock ROM PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed for my HTC Desire Z. Bootloader installed it. I have a problem, because i can't root my phone, and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do you have any ideas, how to root it, and install Recovery, for change ROM?
I tried AMT, Android Flasher, ADB - no one working.
Please help!!
If you still have s-off after the flash with that pc10img.zip then chances are you have true radio s-off , this is good
Just need to flash an engineering bootloader and custom recovery than flash ROM of choice
