I tried changing the bootscreen. Before the phone shut down, it crashed. Now the phone is just displaying backlight. Holded Power + Vol Up for 30+ Sec but the phone refuses to shut down.
The phone is not detected the computer and when plugged in, there's no charging LED indicator.
HELP!

Thanks. None worked. The Power + Up does not respond at all. Tried even holding for a minute.
The screen back lighting is still on. But the LED charging indicator does not respond when USB wire is plugged in.
Any more suggestions?

Did you read through that thread? Let the phone sit till the battery dies and screen goes off. Then charge till you get the solid red led then try reflashing to stock.

Got a bootloop, figured to do a hard reset (volume up+power). Phone vibrated 3 times. Since then i have not been able to turn it on, and no led while being plugged in to PC, charger, no flash mode. It kept it plugged in a wall charger for 6 hours and still no red led. Help :crying:
- PC Companion cant recognize my phone
- tried volume up+power, connect to pc, then hold power+volume down
Note: Phone was not hot or warm during the bootloops
EDIT: Plugged phone into my computer 2 hours ago and finally a red led! Stupid wall charger -_-

Sucks not having a battery to pull don't it.
Step1: Don't plug to charger until your phone no screen no response
Step2: Plug it to charger for about 10min, it would be turned on automatically. Do hard reset(vibrate 4times) when it is turned on.
Step3: Open flashtool and select ftf, plug your phone to computer and press volume down simultaneously. Wait until the green led appear, It would be flashing.

Hi.
I left my Arc S went out of battery and now it doesn't boot.
I put it charging on my pc by usb and it turn the green led on. Pressing the power button, it does nothing at all. If I take the cable it when I press the power button it just blink the red led and doesn't boot.
I'm on trip and need my phone urgently. How can I fix this? Could the battery be dead? It shouldn't turn on just even without battery?
Thank you!!

Does it show the battery charging on the screen?
My arc shows the charging battery icon on screen when charging it while being off.
I think you might need to leave it charging for a while before powering it on. Another thing, try a charger instead of the pc.

Don't panic. Just connect it to the charger and wait for few minutes and see after a while it starts up or not. If it doesn't, if you can, try to turn it on with another battery.
Thanks a lot. It doesn't show the charger screen.
I don't have the charger with me, just the usb cable... :/
I'm on other island, where I'll stay until the end of the week...
So do you think that charging by USB it doesn't deliver the necessary power to boot the phone?
Thanks a lot!!
BTW, is the led turning green as soon as you connect it to the cable?

Yes!! On the begin it just blinks the red led, but in a few seconds it stabilize on the green one. Do you know what that means?
Take out battery
Hold powerbutton 30 sec
Insert battery
Connect it to the usb
Dont touch it at all and wait minimum 30 minutes
After 30 min, tap the homebutton.
Did it show the charging icon on display?

Thanks to everyone people!!
I was able to find someone on the hotel with a micro-usb charger!! As you told, it worked like a charm!!
Thanks a lot!
Hi, only had it 3 days and it wont power up any more!
The battery was down to about 27%, plugged it into the wall charger and the phone just rebooted itself. After it booted back up I connected the charger again and this time the phone just turned off. The phone won't turn on any more, i just get a constant blinking red led light.
Tried a volume up + power button for a minute now nothing.
Tried pressing the little red button under the Sim, nothing.
Connected the phone to a PC and the PC makes a blip sound(found new device sound), but just keeps repeating the blip sound, like the usb cable has been unplugged and plugged back in over and over. Wanted to use the Sony companion software to do a reset.
Any other ideas or is it dead?!?
thanks

Hi, not flashed anything as the phone was brand new. Spoke with the retailer and they swapped out the handset.
I did manage to get the device to boot up after more searching online, by holding down the power button for about 10mins and keeping it charged at the same time. The flashing red light then changed to a solid orange light, after another 10mins or so the phone booted up. But the phone was playing up after that even after a hard reset.

So, i tried to repartition my Xperia S and all went well i installed a rom and gapps, and after i rebooted the phone went off and it doesn't turn on anymore, i tried charging it but after 12 hours of charging the red led is on again, there are no vibrations i can't power it on, can't do a hard reset (holding power button and volume up key) also can't connect to PC, when I connect it via USB the red led goes on again, i tried to connect it in fastboot/flashboot but it's the same thing again the red led goes on like it's charging
PLS HELP. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO BRING BACK TO LIFE MY XPERIA S?
Seems like no. You may try to manually remove battery and let it a bit rest for 15-20 min but I'm not sure if it helps. Have you held your power+volume up\down buttons long enough?
Soft brick tips - and check this

UPDATE: when the phone is connected to the PC via USB, after holding power button + volume up + volume down button the sony logo comes on, and the led goes off .. but this last for about 20 sec and the screen goes off again. I tried to go into recovery when the sony logo comes on but no luck there

Hi,
I've only had my Samsung Galaxy Tab S for a few weeks. Whilst on a plane the battery went to 0%.. no problem I thought as I'd simply charge it when I got to a power source.
However, when plugged in, nothing happens. No LED light, nothing on the screen. I've plugged it into a wall socket and via USB into a PC. I have held down the power button, home and volume down for a period of time, as well as just the power button and volume down.
Has my tablet gone kaput?
Cheers,
Titanium
I'd just let it charge for a while. It'll take a bit before it comes back to life if it was completely drained.
If you still don't get any response hold POWER + VOL DOWN.

Yeah, tried to hold it down. No LED lights and nothing shows on the tablet. It's as if it's just dead.

There are no leds.
I know someone else had the same problem. They used a different charger and it worked.
Try that first.

I had this problem.
You'll have to pry off the back cover, remove the wire that connects the battery to the motherboard. (A battery pull, basically).
Keep it off for 30 seconds. Then plug back in.
Use ifixit for details about opening. Feel free to ask for more help.
Try this one.
1) connect the tab to PC
2) press Home, Vol Down and Power simultaneously up to a screen appears;
3) press Vol Down to cancel and reboot the tablet.
John.
Now there are a few things you can try...
First check your charging port for any dust or any foreign particle. There has to be a small gap between the base of the charging port, and the small slab above it. Carefully, using a board pin, try and push that slab a bit up, don't apply too much pressure, just enough to make it move slightly!
This can happen sometimes if you drop your phone.
Next, make sure your charger, and the USB cable are working fine.
Also tell me if you have any Xposed module for your battery installed on your phone!

Thanks so much for that.
This morning, I plugged my tablet in to AC charge before leaving for the day -- battery was at ~30% and all was well. This evening, I came home and the tab was stuck at a weird Samsung logo -- not the normal boot with colored ovals, but the logo surrounded by a moving star field, never seen before, and could not get the tab to respond, turn off, do anything. Tried many wacky suggestions found on the intertubes to stop/start it, including holding power plus touching the screen for > 30 seconds, none of which worked. Never would have thought your suggestion for download mode would work, but it did on the very first try.
I'd like to know how the tab got into that state, and what that star field logo is about. But at least it's working again, for now.
Thank you.
That's the normal lollipop boot screen.
