So I dropped my phone yesterday. And now a hairline crack has developed across the screen rendering the touch screen unresponsive. The volume and power buttons work fine but screen and the capacitive buttons don't do anything. I was wondering what I needed to buy in order to repair it? I have looked and it seems that I may need to get a new LCD assembly and digitizer. Is that correct?
Also, it seems that many of the ones I saw on eBay say E973/E970 digitizer and assembly. I know the E973 and the E970 have different form factors. Can anyone confirm that they use the same LCD components? I have the E971 (Rogers) by the way.
Thanks
E971 and e973 are same hardware as far as I know. Ones just bell the other rogers

I understand that the E971 (Rogers) and the E973 (Bell and Telus) are essentially the same. Does anyone if the E970 (AT&T) digitizer workers with the E971?
I am also looking for this answer, I have the e971 and am wondering if the e970 digitizer is the same as this is much more available in North America

Hi,
Are the E971 and E973 the same dimensions? I know know are differences in the US models, one is wider. So are both these the same?
Really I just want to buy a E973 from Bell, and buy the Otter box commuter, but their website says its only compatible with LS970 Sprint, NOT a E970 AT&T.
Problem is, neither Canadian model matches those numbers so I have no idea what form factor we have. So many models, so much confusion!
Are 971/973 same? And same as which US version?
Thanks!

Thanks, but had already seen it. Decided I couldn't trust it because it was different than what was on the Bell website, listing a 13 Mpixel camera which Bell does not have. I also thought the Bell one had expandable memory, but I guess I was wrong on that too.
Wikipedia for the win.
I was under the impression that the Rogers model wouldn't work on Bell's LTE network, but I still manage to get intermittent connection to it.
The specs show the E971 as having 700/2600 bands, while the E973 has 700/AWS.
Any thoughts? It's clearly not the best connection. It's on and off, but I still manage to get it.

Bell is co-owner of the 2600 spectrum, that might explain it.
Actually I looked in the service menu and the phone has many LTE bands, not just the two "official" ones. This would explain why I was able to connect to Bell's LTE. A guy at the office had the Telus model and he had the exact same bands when we looked in his service menu.

The service menu is generic. You have it even when you flash to E975 or F180 rom.

Ah, so they don't modify the menu based on hardware? Makes it somewhat pointless then.

Not necessarily pointless. My E971 will connect to LTE when I pick band 4 which is not even listed in the specs. But I can't tell for sure if it is using Band 4 or not.
So personally I think the E971 can run LTE on 700/2100 and 2600.

Do you find you have an easy time connecting to a non-Rogers LTE network? I could connect at the office, but now I can't anymore, even though my One X has a full strength LTE signal. The Optimus can't seem to correct anymore. Maybe I screwed something up.

Good to know it's not just me then. I haven't been able to connect to LTE since Tuesday night or so while my Note 2 sits on it all day. I even went and got a new sim.
Maybe the 2600Mhz frequency is down.
Where are you located?

I'm in Toronto, using a E971 on the Bell network. I believe Bell uses the 1700 LTE frequency.
Bell uses Band 4 which is 1700/2100 and Band 7 which is 2600 which is the same as Rogers. However Bell's Band 7 coverage is relatively unknown.
Rogers claims that wherever they have Band 4, they have Band 7 too.
The E971 specs only list Band 17 which is 700 and Band 7. So if Band 7 coverage is down, we get no LTE.

Makes sense, and explains why I was able to get LTE at the office but not at my house. I rectified the issue by selling my E971 and buying the E973. Problem solved!

How much did you guys pay for it? Does it also come with 32gb? I've read somewhere that the Hong Kong version of the G Pro only has 16gb internal storage.

I flashed my F240S to E988 rom, everything seems fine, except GPS cannot fix....but it is not a deal breaker to me, at least all the Korean stuffs are gone...
I think most difference between (mobile only) are:
F240K/S 32GB ram, LTE1800 only
E988 16GB ram, LTE1800/2600
Is there a 32gb version of E988 out already?

I'm no expert, but I think the 988 doesn't use the same LTE bands that ATT uses. Unlocking the device will not fix that. The reason you can get EDGE is because they share the same bands for that network. Check GSMArena and it will break down the diffs between the variants.

I was wondering if someone can confirm part compatibility? I have Canadian Telus i747M and just broke the LCD/digitizer, screen has no scratch go figure. Anyhow when searching ebay, I see only parts for Samsung Galaxy S 3 S3 lll i747 T999 At&t LCD Digitizer + Frame, would i747 part work with my i747?
Thanks for any reply
