Turned off the tablet last night and threw it on the wireless charger. Woke up this morning to turn it on and it stalls on the boot animation. I hold down power for several seconds, then press again to reboot. It booted this time but i lost selections of data, for instance some games and a bunch of apps had to be re updated..
im running stock 4.3 rooted.
Completely stock T-Mo m8. Been running Lollipop since the OTA came through, and it has worked fine for the longest time, no problems other than a bit of lag, even after clearing the cache.
A couple of days ago, the phone began to shut down whenever (seemingly) any app was launched when on battery, and then would not boot on repeated attempts. It doesn't seem to make it past the first stage of the bootloader (first HTC screen, pre-animation), most of the time. Sometimes it will make it to the T-Mobile animation and then give up.
While plugged in, it boots and works fine 9/10 times, but sometimes gives some resistance to booting. If it is unplugged and any apps are launched, it shuts down as if the battery were removed. Though, the whole while the battery seems normal, no weird fluctuations or sudden drops in battery level.
If it is unplugged after having booted and it is relatively inactive (no apps launched, or any processes, i.e. alarms, syncing, downloads, etc.), it will remain powered on.
I have attempted to Factory Reset a couple of times, and cleared the cache a couple of times. The problem persists. I can boot into recovery, though I am not rooted.
Is my battery in need of a replacement or some such? I would like to remain fully stock if at all possible. I may be able to get a replacement phone out of T-Mobile, but would also like to avoid that.
I have no idea why some person thought it was a good idea to program a feature to turn your device off randomly. My one year old woke me up this morning early, I went to check my phone to see what time it was but the screen wouldn't turn on.
I left it on my nightstand with well over 50% battery when I went to sleep, no apps running like usual. My device will lose 3-4% battery over night, so no big deal at ~50% battery overnight.
Continuing with the issue, I booted the phone up to see if the battery had drained or something but it was still at 50%. After it fully booted a message popped up stating something to the fact of:
"Wondering why your phone turned off? It was turned off to rest. Your phone needs to rest to continue operating at optimum levels. Using high draining applications like navigation and video streaming can hinder system performance"
Or some kind of BS like that. I wish at 3:30am I had the forethought to screenshot the message...
Has anyone else had this happen? The thing is, I barely used my phone all day. Literally a few minutes of talking, few texts, took a few pictures and browsed a few articles using chrome.
I rely on my phone for my alarm so if this randomly happens that could be bad if my daughter sleeps in!
BTW, I'm running @santod040 stock rooted 5.0.2 full version.
Mine has done the same a few times since the OTA. I'm 100% stock
Nice when you rely on your phone for an alarm, right?
Have same problem. Has happened about 3 times since lollipop update. Fully stock. I tried cache wipe but that hasn't fixed it.
I am 100% stock as well, unrooted and S-ON. This has happened about once per week. Phone shuts down by itself and displays a message upon restart (see attached).
I've asked HTC support and they've had me try safe mode and wiping cache partition, though it sounds like it's a more widespread problem than something caused by a third-party app.
So lately I've been noticing my phone hasn't been locking when it should be and while my phone was sitting next to me I watched the display turn on and off twice within ~45 seconds by itself.
Haven't changed any settings and this had never occurred/been a problem before.
Already cleared cache in recovery no help.
Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Mine does this as well because I have greenify installed, if you look very closely after it turns the screen on, you can see that it's force closing apps, but it turns the brightness all the way down while it does this. If you don't have greenify installed then I am not sure what might be causing your phone to do this.
I have an old Tab S from AT&T running 6.0.1. I've owned it since they first came out, and it's always worked fine until just this week. I usually leave it in airplane mode when I'm not using it because its battery has always drained faster than I'd like when its online, but this has never been a problem. I only use it for an hour or less most days anyway.
The other day I turned off airplane mode but WiFi wouldn't come on... the icon turns on dim for a minute, then goes off, and manually enabling it doesn't work. The on/off slider in settings slides over but stays gray, then eventually turns itself off.
The first time this happened I rebooted and that fixed it.
A couple days later it happened again and now I can't fix it. I've restarted, I've power cycled it, and I've cleared the data cache... no change.
Bluetooth works, location works, and cell data works.
Also now when I boot up, I get an error "Process System Isn't Responding. End task or wait?" It doesn't seem to matter which option I choose.
Any thoughts?
Some how your system might get conflicted with your app or system apk get corrupted?Reset tablet or reflash os with odin. The worst situation, just rooted and install custom rom.
