Android 4.1 is part of the MIUI that you are interested in. When you flash the ZIP you will end up with 4.1 MIUI.

[Q] Simple dimple

Can someone post steps on updating SE Arc to the latest 2 August Update.
I'm with rogers right now and have a Rooted phone with
Build - 3.0.1.A.0.145
Kernal Version- 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
I also believe that if I update my root will be lost, is that true ?
If I update will I loose my data too?
Updating through flash tool and all what does that mean ?
What is pre-rooted kernal ?
Thanks in Advance

1. TRUE
2. YES
3. Bcoz flashtool is the only one way to flash this new fw, we just have ftf file at the moment.
4. pre-rooted kernel give u root permission so that you don't have to wait for the rooted firmware image (.img file)

So in the Development section we have a pre-rooted kernal with the new update, does it mean if we update it to that kernal we not only get a new kernal but also will have an updated firmware with superuser ?
Or it's just a kernal that's compatible with the new 4.0 firmware update ?

You partly right, this prerooted kernel (DoomLoRD kernel, correct me if i'm wrong) is based on the kernel of new firmware 4.0.A.2.368, so theoretically, you can use the lastest firmware with root permission based on this kernel

A 2nd kernel has been posted because Doomlord's has issues with CPU speed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202479

As for rooting, OP can't install a pre-rooted (insecure/rootable) kernel because OP can't unlock the bootloader because OP has a carrier-branded arc. Therefore OP will not be able to have 4.0.A.2.368 rooted (yet).

[Q] Question on MIUI Rom

Can i update or apply the rom .zip of miui if my Defy is...
Android Version 2.2.2
Baseband Version : EPU93_U_00.59.01
BPflex Version: USAJRDNEMARAB1B8RTIT03A.OR
APflex version: GAS_EMEA_USAJRDNFRYORTIT_P015
Build Number: JOREM_U3_3.4.2_177-3
According to this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079150
You should flash the 2.2 Nordic rom first. There's a ton of guides on here how to flash sbf's.Then follow the guide from above.
Yes you can. It is suggested to flash Nordic(no difference but a deblur froyo) but you can flash MIUI over any stock Froyo 2.2.

at this moment there is a no active developer working on porting MIUI to last builds for 4,2,2 stock version , so I think we should wait for that
Miui for the HOX is on 4.1.1 no 4.2.2 in sight.
You can see the latest build from Friday on en.miui.com

Hello all, my first post in XDA
I am looking to flash the "[ROM ][4.3] [JLS36G] PARANOIDANDROID 3.99 RC2 (Sep21)" in my Galaxy Nexus (Intl GSM).
My current android version is Stock 4.3, Build Number JWR66Y.
As recovery I have TWRP 2.6.3.0 in my phone. (Flashed it using Nexus Root Toolkit 1.7.3 by WugFresh)
Can anyone please tell me:

2. Can I flash the PA ROM using my current recovery?
Thank you!
