Just updated my 4.0.4 Yakju to 4.1.1 via the OTA, and I've already noticed something that I can attribute to what they said during Google I/O -- "the screen will now try to guess where you're going to touch next." Now, I'm not sure if that specifically is what's causing it (or if I just horribly misquoted from my very fail memory), but here's the problem:
I used to be able to scroll repeatedly and quickly with my thumb through a list up or down in quick succession (that is, flicking the screen up or down about two times every 1 or 1.5 seconds). Now when I do this, it will stop or slow down the scrolling to a CRAWL. I have to flick, and wait til it slows down or nearly stops, before flicking again. It doesn't always happen, but it happens probably 8/10 times. Inexplicably, it happens more often when trying to quickly scroll up, than down. Actually, it almost never happens when trying to scroll down, and it's not that I'm not making contact with the screen when going up, or touching it differently. I feel like it's just predicting where my thumb is going to be and stops the scrolling when I touch it again. It's very annoying! Aside from this, Jelly Bean is awesome!
So, is anyone else experiencing this? Am I crazy? Do I just need to get used to flicking, waiting, and flicking? Do dogs dream in color?
Also, not sure if this is posted in the right place or not; my apologies if it happens to be the latter.
Yes I do experience this but I got used to it since 4.1

I've been experiencing the same thing. I find that if you lock and then unlock your phone, the scrolling becomes smooth again.
I noticed something was wrong with scrolling. Hopefully this can be fixed.

I haven't noticed this at all. Scrolling is awesome in fact. I'll be glad to take a video of 4.1.1 of me scrolling through over 1000 songs, hundreds of contacts and easily flicking through, buttery smooth...
Haven't noticed this on 4.1 or 4.1.1.
Possibly a bug?

Weird that two of you haven't experienced this, but a few of us have. Wondering what variation you're running? Takju/Yakju/_______? GSM or CDMA (has it been released for CDMA phones yet)?
Maybe it's something specific to a certain build, or maybe it just exacerbates faulty hardware that wasn't noticeable before? Hmm..
I dont experience this at all. Maybe you are slightly touching the screen while pulling your thumb up to re-swipe down, thus slowing down the scroll? That has happened to me a few times, but that is normal behavior. When i try to scroll as fast as I can, like 3 fast swipes a second, there are no slowdowns at all.
Takju GSM here BTW running 4.1.1 deodexed.

Running Stock GSM Yakju non-deodexed 4.1.1
And nah, I made sure I double-checked myself for stupidity before posting, and it wasn't me! Aside from that, even if I was doing something wrong, it's not like I suddenly changed a habitual behavior between 4.0.4 and 4.1.1, there's something definitely going on differently. Especially since I was flick scrolling through twitter out of boredom prior to updating
I have this happening when using ondemand governor on 4.1.1. Interactive governor is smooth.
Probably it is related to specific apps?
I tried to scroll many times as fast as I can on the stock browser while browsing Engadget, and everything smooth. No wait no touch predictions.
But, for example, our beloved XDA app is now terrible. Stuttering, jerkey, janky and the keyboard input using SwiftKey is laggy.
I compared the keyboard input versus Facebook or Google+, I can feel clearly the XDA app is laggy.

It happens the most prominently for me when going to Settings > Apps > All and scrolling to the bottom, then attempting to flick quickly back to the top. For some reason, the behavior is *mostly* absent using Twitter, though it still exists. Weird that it happens more in some places than others, and that one of them is part of the Android UI (rather than an app).
That is the same bug we're talking here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576739
I've it since 4.0.4 (where multitouch bug disappeared and appeared this sensibvity touch bug)
I notice it a lot when scrolling pages in web browser.
Just lock and unlock GNexus to fix it.
But after some time, it appears again...

Fwiw i just tried this and had absolutely no issues. I tried multiple times scrolling to the bottom and up again and even being lazy with the height of my thumb it was fine. To stop it I'd have to press my thumb down mid scroll to scroll to stop it. I'm using OTE 4.1.1

I have a question, well.. Not one, but a lot of ones.
I have been seeing on XDA Forum topics about LG Optimus G Intl E975. Random people have said that they were doing something and then the phone turned off and never turned on again. It is kind of a hardbrick. Maybe not a lot of people tho. What are the chances of that? That's something that is bothering me about rooting and unlocking the bootloader then installing CM11 or any other custom roms. Right now I am on stock 4.1.2 on my LG Optimus G E975. I have had a bad experience in the past with hardbricking, and I am trying to be more careful now. But what are the chances of that? I mean, if I root right now and unlock the bootloader using Freegee and flashing CM11? If I do everything correct, should I worry about something? The only bugs that would really affect me is if apps force closes, stuttering or lag when in the UI and music lag in the background, in the past i've been through that, I was playing some music, then I went to another app, lets say Facebook and the music lagged or skipped. What else.. Buggy buttons or unresponsive touch screen, but that's it. And connection? Wifi, GSM, bluetooth, MHL or NFC? I barely use MHL and NFC, but still it's better to have them than not. That it, thank you for your time!
I have recently received my G3 32GB (855), however, I noticed the screen is not responding to all touch screen inputs. Id say it responds 8-9 out of 10.
For the record, I'm running all stock, no root, only ART enabled.
I even went to the hidden menu to check double check if there are any faults, but it was correctly recording every time I touch the screen.
It feels like the UI is not responding sometimes...
Any suggestions?
I've noticed that today on mine as well for the first time. Double tap to unlock has been very hit or miss, even with a reboot. I'm totally stock and didn't switch to ART yet. Not too happy about this and will keep monitoring.

If your not looking closely, its easy to assume that it was due to lack of proper contact.
But when I started noticing this issue, I started paying attention to each screen touch and then I felt that I had some misses...

It was to the point that it didn't work on first double tap, didn't work on second double tap, and I slowly and methodically did it a 3rd time with no luck. Had to use the power button on the back. After a restart its only done it once since....kind of weird.
I'm not facing any knock on problems usually, it actually responds more than my G2 I have to admit.
My main problem is swiping thru the launcher.
Even inside apps I can't recall any prob, it makes me feel like it could be related to launcher lag...
I just installed Nova and I'm no longer facing any issues with the launcher not responding to certain swipes. I guess there are more optimizations required for the LG launcher ui
I am having the same issue. I did install one of BodyGuardz tempered glass screen protector. I have art and I am rooted with towelroot.

Not the solution you are looking for but, I have to say, this was the case also on my G2 and G PRO 2. It's an LG thing. Not to bad by any means but noticeable and something that should be sorted.

Maybe you're right about that, I still have my G2, but its running cloudystock 2.0 and Dorimanx Kernel v5.8, so it feels like a different beast.
I've been able to replicate this issue on my G4 (815T Australian model) on a daily basis, just on the instagram app though.
I recorded a video of it. Slowmo part shows the issue
https://goo.gl/photos/F823e125PQckCPLp6
The screen seems confused and it just scrolls the other way even if my thumb wasn't touching the screen.
Factory data reset did not fix anything.
Are you able to replicate this LG G4 owners?
I don't use Instagram, so can't help with that app, sorry.
But if you go into Developer Options, and turn on "Show touch data", it might help add some more info to the discussion. It will show a trace on the screen of what the phone's touchscreen interpreted from your last tap/swipe.
It would presumably show a swipe up, and then back down, when you're getting these ghost touches that change the scroll direction. But perhaps it could also help show if swipes are interpreted the same way in other apps. It might help you learn a little more about what the phone is seeing, at least.
Thanks for the video and everything but why a new thread? Plenty of videos on the main thread.
Is another thread really necessary?

Might be, because this only happens with IG. I've got the exact same problem, only with IG and its very annoying.

You can try to change the touch feedback time from short to medium under settings/accessibility/motor & cogination. This will reduce the touch feedback time. Give it a try, and see if it gets better.

So you reckon it's just a software issue?

Well this problem is only related to the LG G4 and IG for me...I don't have any other touchscreen problems with this phone. So for me I guess this is not hardware related. During the day I just had 2 small "ghost touches", way better than before. Will see how it goes the next few days...
Edit :
after a view days, it looks like it didn't solve this issue. Today I notice the ghost touches were there again in IG
Force GPU rendening under Developer options somewhat helped.
The new v10f on my Australian G4 didn't fix the issue as well.
Any updates on this? I had same issue. N this is a replacement unit after 2.5 weeks of waiting
Just day one and this ghost touch come up.
I also have this problem
Did you solve the problem?
I am facing similar issue.between...i am not using ig.
I've had this issue as well (not just IG) and sent the phone back for servicing. It was sent back to me with a report showing that they'd done a few things but the problem is still there. I'd been thinking I'd send it back in once more and ask them to have another look. I'm getting ghost touches everywhere and quite a bit, it's very annoying.
Someone mentioned there was another, large thread about this issue but I can't seem to find it, can anyone point me to it?
Hi, I posted this in a new thread yesterday as I couldn't find anything. Never thought to search for 'ghost taps' duh.
Every now and then when just doing normal things on the my phone it totally freaks out and all by it self it suddenly starts to tap random parts of the desktop, slides the pages, opens apps, closes apps, goes into calculator and a bunch of buttons are pressed randomly. It's almost like someone has hacked my phone and is trolling me by just tapping randomly on the phone.
Just today when looking at Facebook it closed the app, scrolled down notifications, data was turned off and wifi turned on.
I thought it might have been my screeen protector, bit of moisture in it or something. Took that off and still does it. Took out the battery for a minute and still does it.
It happened a few months ago then nothing for ages and now it's started again this weekend.
Thought it might have been only when connected to data but has now done it when offline.
Any one got a solution? Does a custom rom fix?
Shot in the dark I guess but since I got this device, Snapchat has been terribly laggy and almost unusable. Specifically when using the keyboard for text. Sometimes when I launch it, the camera is just black for roughly 5 seconds and then the back camera comes on finally. The chat feature is very slow at times and the entire app seems to stall and crash at least once a day. Anyone else notice this?
A quick google search yielded several recent topics on various forums complaining about the same thing, all on 6.0 Marshmallow. Hopefully it's not just this device.
I'm getting this exact thing
I went through that too. Once I had to restart it to make the camera work again. My tip is do not try use volume keys until it load completely. It just frozen the app in a black screen. Isn't perfect but can be used.
It's probably not optimized as well for 6.0 yet
Snapchat hasn't been perfect for me, but I've never experienced any of those issues. The worst I get is a little delay when pressing the home button.

I have had this problem we will have to wait for an update!! Basically that's what I've been telling myself lately about marshmallow

I can tell you guys I had this problem on my Nexus 6 on Marshmallow, it has to be something related to 6.0, I'm on a LG G4 now and snapchat runs just fine.
Kinda laggy for me too. And I can't get it to play a notification sound when I recieve snaps. I have turned it on in settings and I get a notification as normal, but no sound. Does anyone else have this problem?
Just uninstalled it from the n5x will have to limit myself to using it on n72013 it was unusable. Crashes camera failed to load then started to affect the stock camera app, would cause system crashes and could only be sorted with a reboot.
Same here its completely horrible to use of this phone. Phone ****s itself every time I try use it!

me too I have same issues the lag and so slowly for texting and even after update marshmallow update 6.0.1 the problem still the same I hope can anyone help me with issue what should to do and thanks you
So I am a power snapchat user and had this same problem and might have accidentally stumbled on a possible solution after having a login failure. I enabled the travel mode so it's not downloading constantly. I installed snapprefs and I can't explain why but it's flying now. No lag on window switching or opening the camera. I'm on 6.0.1 December rooted
Everytime I take video from Snapchat, it produces the sound "dug" at the first second of the video, never put my finger too hard on the phone so it isn't bcs of my finger knocking the screen, anybody know why?
