Thanks thought tgat would be the case just wanted to check first

Just make a backup then Flash 4.1.1
Can I make backup within odin? I dont have custom recovery installed.

I agree, my phone suddenly started feeling laggy and the touch screen was noticeably less responsive.
I'm wondering if there is a reason they haven't released the BTU version yet?
Battery backup has gone drastically down with 4.1.2!!

I am having battery issues with my 4.1.2 note 2, on DBT. But I think I can hang on still, but regardless, I think speed and functionality is fine for the moment. But battery life has for sure taken a hit. I even restored the OS completely (hard reset) and it i'm still having the issue. Oh well, I'll hang on for another week. I'm glad the Note 2 has 3,500 mah in it! haha. If it had 2000 I'd be dead in a few hours after unplugging haha.

Hello all!
I got my GNote2 two days ago everything was fine until i've noticed that my battery level doesn't change for hours and hours. The battery level was 66 when i first look, and after hours in the and it was still 66 and the phone suddenly closed then i realised that battery drained. Does anybody have something like that before? And what is the problem's source? What is solution? What should i do to fix it? I'll add two pic to illuminate you about the exact situation.
Any idea comments?
Something must be defect. Regular unmodified Note 2? Then just send it for service/repair. Or even get it replaced.

Even I changed the stock rom to a custom one there is no difference and I've noticed that too when I pullout my battery and replace it shows the real battery rate but that is all.. Do you think is it battery or phone?

maybe because of your phone system board, better get a replacement phone.
I agree. More probable that it is a bad phone rather than a bad battery.

Guys before jumpong to the conclusion that the phone is bad why not see of some app is causing it
Simply install BetterBatteryStats and check the problem.
Also see if you have your phone rooted?
Have you applied any mod?
If problem still persists and is not solved then simple. Simply flash a newer firmware (ALJ3) from Odin and youre good to go
As i said before i have tried both stock and custom roms and there was no difference. Secondly i have just stock apps and casual normal apps i mean it couldn't be about an app. Actually there's no defect about phone's abilities just battery rate sticks what is was firstly when i replace battery. i wanna try with another battery to figure out is it about the battery or not but i don't have any chance for it.

Try to fully uncharge your phone, after when is dead put on charge. And wait until its full charged. Than reboot to recovery and make a full wipe (if u don't want to just do battery wipe) restart phone. Now check how it works aftery battery calibration.
If it will be same ****, change you phone true warranty. If you can't do that. You need to buy new original battery from samsung.com
Regards.
What would happen if i try my old SGS 1500mah battery on GNote2? I wanna see is it about just battery. Well it is kinda gift from abroad and it seems i have no warranty in my country or i'll have to pay it.

Damn. Even with the ICS upgrade? This is crazy because I had an Atrix 2 for a while and with 1gb of ram you'd expect it to be okay. But this is that and 1.5ghz dual core.
But for $65 is it worth it? I mean in my city, there's lots of cheap and good phones. But this is the cheapest in its power range.
Should I just shell out a couple more bucks for a better phone?

the battery issues have been dealt with using wind kernel on a v20f ics rom or cm 10.1.2 with wind wernel
I have never been able to root this phone, so that kind of stinks. My biggest issue is the battery life is horrible!!!! Also stinks that we'll never see JB on here without rooting!!!

Rooting this phone is easy...what stock ROM are you on? As far as battery life I can go all day without needing to charge. My wife can't say that with her iPhone and people at work who have galaxy s3 and s4 are always charging. Haven't had complaints about battery life since I moved from GB a year ago.

I found the overheating on the phone pretty bad but since I got cyanogenmod the phone isn't overheating anymore. Anyway I suggest getting it as the phone is pretty good other then a few problems

I think it depends phone to phone but on a super light usage day I might get 12-14 hrs. On my normal usage like 5-6hrs even with wind kernel and cm10.1. The major plus of the phone is that 2years later it still has one of the highest ppi's available.

I should mention that The battery is fine on standby. Play some games and forget about it! My software version is V20-c. Its been a while since I tried to root her, but none of the methods worked for me. I've rooted my Kindle Fire and my previous Android phone, so I have rooted in the past. The overheating issue is bad also, but overall, this has been a good phone! The display is beautiful and the processor is quite fast. I don't regret buying this, but wanted to be honest in my overview...

To root v20c use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
This works 100% as long as it is installed to c:/ and don't run as administrator.
However if you want to install cwm to install custom ROMs and tweaks (recommended) use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645
This will allow you to install a variety of ROMs that are based on stock that will offset better battery life including game playing. At the very least install wind kernel in addition to better battery life it removes security from the boot loader so you can uninstall bloatware without bricking ie. Google Play movies.
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app
The battery drain is for me the biggest issue. But with wind kernel and other roms it is much better. It depends on what you want to do with the phone. When you play all the day, yeah then you will charge often. But other phones have same problem. I bought an extender battery. By the way the phone is better in my hands weight of course a little bit higher.

It is no problem to change the sensitivity of the screen. After flashing a new rom I change the worth in the system folder once and then the sensitivity is fast and smooth. For this you can use an app of course. But why installing an app when I can do this manually ?
What is the average screen on time around here? Thanks for all the great input!

I have this phone a couple of months, the real big problem with my Nitro was random reboots after ICS upgrade, finally I have to install v18f (ICS leak), with that ROM I solve the random reboots but battery life was horrible so I have to sell it.

There are a few bad apples out in the wild. They are from the original batch that came out in 2011. But they are just fine in gingerbread. Sorry about your luck man.

Performance-wise, I went from a Galaxy S III to this phone, and the UI is decently smooth on the stock ROM. On CM it's pretty laggy unless you use Wind Kernel, which makes it a lot smoother. The screen is very sharp - I actually like its screen more than my S III.
However, I've had some bad issues with overheating on this phone. During normal use, it's not an issue, but I've had the phone shut off or reboot during GPS navigation, and when I felt the phone it was downright hot, especially on the back right where it says "8MP HD" below the camera. It got so hot that I couldn't touch it. Battery drain when under heavy load (games, GPS navigation, etc.) is also pretty bad. My 2 amp car USB charger can't keep up with it during GPS navigation, and the battery will still drain even though it's charging.
I've had the phone for a few months, and it is a decent phone overall, but I'd explore some alternatives.
I decided to go with an alternative. I got lucky and found a real good deal. I'm amazed myself. Thanks everyone for your input.

Try using Kies and doing an emergency firmware update. It will ask you to input a model number. For AT&T it is SGH-I747 with caps and everything exactly as I wrote it. See if that helps your issue first.

This may or man not help, but my Captivate would sometimes do this with certain updates. I even thought about trying to replace the motor the first time and then after I updated to a different rom it was back again. Or maybe it was just a re-install. Either way, it did come back and I think it happened again once or twice as I tried lots of roms on that phone.
This KitKat update is complete crap, it's ruined a number of things on my device and added NOTHING. A week ago I was 100% satisfied with my Note 3, I could keep it forever on 4.3. Is it possible to go back? I'm stock, not-rooted.
If you took the ota, then no.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I took it OTA, it gave me no choice. I kept postponing the installation and then it eventually forced me to reboot my phone and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

I've noticed a lot of different things with the processor. After on for a little while randomly some of the CPUs will activate did not sleep, normally cpu0 stays on all the time but cpu1-3 turn off to save battery, and at the same time the minimum frequency would get stuck at 1.95... When you reboot everything would reset back to the minimum of 300 mhz and the CPUs would sleep as normal

Really glad I stayed on 4.3 after hearing a lot of these horror stories mentioned in several threads. I had no intention of taking the OTA or Odin anyways just because I read a couple weeks before on a site that kitkat 4.4.2 was messing with how it handles the external sdcard and apps.
There's mixed reports of good/bad battery life on 4.4.2 and if the new bootloader really makes a difference yet, all I can say to those that did jump the gun or didn't know any better is things will get better as devs iron out the bugs and create custom kernels/roms to help you guys out. Does it suck waiting for all this.. hell yes it does but we have all been there before and just know you are in the right place here at XDA because these devs and members are here to help us all out thru hard times.

People are generally reporting the opposite. I wonder if it might take a factory reset to fix it.
