Am I wrong in feeling the phone vibrate is weak? I came from an Evo Shift and I could hear it vibrate from across the room. This can be in my pocket and I miss alerts.
Mostly I don't like actually having sound for alerts. Very seldom do I have my phone on anything other than silent. Is it just me? Is there anything that can be done? This is completely nit-picking because this phone is a beast and even with just ICS it smokes.

Depends on what pocket you keep it in.

Ha! Well I suppose that is true. Sort of.

I notice just the opposite. Coming from the Epic 4G, the LGOG makes me jump when it vibrates. I missed so many calls/texts/emails with the Epic.
Guess it's all relative based on one's previous phone.
This is very true. Maybe it's something I'll get used to. I could also change the pattern used. Might help make it more noticeable.

That's what I've done -- I use Type 1 for phone calls (very long vibrate) and Type 2 for SMS/email (5 quick ones).
Coming from the OG Evo and I share your disappointment with the weak vibration of this phone. I work in an office building and rely on the vibration for notifications. Really wish I could get this thing to shake a little more.

Might be worth adhering a little bell to it or something to get some sound.

I wouldn't call it nit-picking at all. On my desk my Evo 3d would really vibrate it was impossible to miss. This phone though I miss notifications all of the time, even in my front pocket, even with long vibrate, and pattern vibrate. I'm hoping something can be done about it as well.
I really doubt there is, which is sad. Still loving the phone!

I remember the haptic feedback slider, but not one for notifications. Then again, I was running CM7.2, so maybe it was removed.
Now I have my LGOG in a Diztronic case which, though I love the case, cuts down on the vibration by about 50%. I'm starting to miss a bunch of notifications now. But, since I already dropped and broke my first LGOG (didn't have a case), I'll keep the case and miss some calls.

Hi, all,
When I talk on this phone, the sound is very poor... Although not too loud (like other complaints) but the sound crackles at high frequencies... The speakerphone is even worse... If I lower the volume, it gets better but sometimes a low volume won't help me with the conversation.
Is it my phone only or everyone experiences that? Are there any tweaks, settings to fix that ?
Thanks!
My phone seems fine and I haven't heard of this issue yet. Maybe I just haven't read up enough but it might just be that you got a bad phone. Exchanging would be the quickest way to get it replaced

I don't hear any cackles but the volume is very low even if I make it the highest it can be.
Mine actually sounds pretty good.
exchange it! Maybe you'll get a white one......

For those that have the phone, how strong is the vibration? My Galaxy Nexus is too weak and I miss calls on silent all the time. I am hoping this one is stronger.
Thanks!

For me, it's strong enough to tickle when it goes off inside my pants pocket.. and thats not a good thing.

On the StockRom the Vibration intensity is really high. I've now installed a custom rom (paranoid android) where the vibration intensity is very poor. I can hardly feel anything when the phone is in my pocket.
Has anyone an idea how to change/fix that?

flash a stock Rom
I find the AOSP roms seem to have lower vibration intensity than the Sammy ones.

Above average. No way excellent! I was reading an article yesterday that Smartphones are worse in making calls, they should add vibration in their list.

Too loud to stay on vibrate while on a desk in class.
guys this is an iphone feature and before you go haters its really cool. I usually have my phone volume down and lay it on its screen. so i miss a lot of calls. My cousin's iphone flash everytime he have a notification or a phone call and it looks really cool. I know this will probably drain your battery but its someone choice to choose this feature or not
I've searched around cause I do the same with silent and phone facing down... I have yet to find anything.
Look for flash blink in the market. I've been using it for a long time

Doesn't light flow do that? I think I saw an option on there when I had it.

Found one that works finally. Vibrate then ring. Light flow has caused lots of problems for some... wake lock issues and more severe battery caller for me also.

Yes there is a way to use this feature. The best option is Beacon, it works like an absolute charm on the s3. It is a paid app, however i have attached the apk. Your welcome. Is the sharing of paid apk's frowned upon? I hope not lol. Anyways good luck, post update to let me know how it worked out.
Mod Edit: Took out Paid Beacon.apk as that is Warez and not allowed.
I'm sure this is not allowed. Doesn't this fall under warez.

Yeah it's against the rules, but thanks for the apk although I'll probably end up buying it if I keep it.
Ome question though, won't using an app like this end up killimg the life of the led flash?

Why not just turn the phone over and use the built-in LED notification on the front ? You can even configure different colours for different things.

You've been registered for all of a few hours and have already broken the "cardinal" rule of posting Warez. I know for a fact that you have to review the rules before the registration is complete. If this is how it is going to be, then your time here will be short lived. No Warez!!!

Got it. It works excellent lol. I was just in the sauna at the gym and then I got a text message I didnt know this app will activate without even open it. and it the flash started to flash. People were asking questions about. Seems like its a cool tweak to show your friends lol
I mentioned it 24 hours ago haha, I like it for night time, I put my phone on silent and usually have it flipped over cause the charging LED is bright in my room rather have a few Flashes for a couple seconds rather then unlimited flashes through out the whole night.
You can set the front LED to not have phone charging as a condition.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue where when the phone vibrates, there is a high frequency rattle that comes with it. I am wondering if this is just the nature of the phone or theres something wrong with it. Care to share anybody?
Other than that, this phone is amazing!

That's fortunate for you. I plan on keeping mine for awhile though.
I feel it might be on all devices. When I shake the device, I can hear, I think, the auto focus shaking. The rattling might be a product of the auto focus shaking with the phone which is okay with me. I just dont want it to be loose pieces bouncing around in my phone.

I know this has been mentioned before, but it is to the point now where I'm thinking about giving up entirely on my ONE.
Im now on my third replacement device, all three have had the rattling noise whenever the vibrate is activated. So frustrating..
How is everyone else dealing with this? or are there really only a few devices with this issue and i'm just unlucky??
Sounds normal

Does this occur regardless if it's on a hard surface, soft surface or in your hand? I'm guessing so, but just wanted to be sure.

If something is loose in the phone then it would rattle just from shaking it. Maybe try to find someone else that has a one and listen to how theirs sounds when the vibrate goes off. My suggestion would to be just turn it off but if you're rooted and s off then a custom kernel can be used to turn the vibrate strength down and maybe lessen this "noise".
