And of course, thank you guys for everything, without you this would be very boring to say the least!
FYI to everyone this is not actually a JB leak. This 100% ICS. We do believe that it is the transition build for the JB OTA.
New leak awesome!!
Thank you sxtp and garwynn for all that you do
The op says it is 4.1.2. If it's not jb it needs changed.

It is not correct and the correct version should be 4.0.4. for ICS. Sextape knows that and I believe it is just a typing error.

Just saying that I'm extremely upset..
Would like to know if anyone who flashes this notices problems like with the other stock ics versions. Those never ran quite right for me and had bad battery life. (I think I just vomited in my mouth for being yet one more person to bring up battery life)
All the OTA roms I've used so far have seemed more like alphas.

The leak is already on XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782744
Sextape posted it a few days ago. It's ICS with searched nerfed and updated radios and kernel from what he could tell.
Hey sprint, we already have this, get to something useful :<

I don't think this is an epic fail at all. It seems like there is a 26 day turn around time from testing to roll-out. If anything remains consistent, I'm hoping we see jelly bean sometime mid august.
What if your on a custom ROM can you still
Update with the about phone setting

I wouldn't mind Sprint tv support. Is that just a modification to the kernel? If so, is that kernel available anywhere without returning to stock?
Well the leaked version is out a lot of pple were waiting for the official

I ripped out the boot.img for anon9mousz which from what he was asking is the kernel. We'll just have to wait and see.

The leaked version is FG01, its the exact same file they'll start pushing out. Using it with ODIN would be the same. That said, some people just want to wait for an ota, and that's OK too.

Never a good idea to accept an ota when rooted and rom'd. This is especially true if your ROM is JB and you accept an ICS ota. It is still fresh in the community's hands but rest assured anything of value from this small update will be integrated into community ROMS.

Yea im against owning/using a pc. I threw mine out the window n bought a iMac along time ago. So I'm guessing Odin doesn't work for me. Maybe try the fast boot way once the official radio is ripped from the update. Definitely still want my search bar.

The official radio was posted on July 16 out of the FG01 by Sextape. Initially he didn't want to release the full FG01 so he just did the radio, but after a few days changed his mind and released the whole enchilada. So, if you head to that link you can grab just the radio if that is all you're interested in.
no one should be including radios in roms.
and there was a cwm flashable zip of the radios made teh day they leaked
Is there any advantage to flashing that radio? I'm on the jellin Rom, with fd02 radio.

Just received the ICS update prompt. Is it safe to do so being on Boost?
So you are a boost customer and got ics ota notification? That can't be bad.

Yes on boost service and received ota ics notification update.

Im not familiar with the process to flash to boost but whats even better is you guys now have ICS rom leaks specific to boost now
Not a boost user but have seen posts from users where flashing / updating doesn't wipe settings.
If it would, then theoretically a nandroid would take you back.

Anyways from what I have found is that no rom I have flashed on this phone has messes up the radio settings where all the carrier settings are stored. You should be fine. But that being said flash at your own risk ha.

Just a theory, maybe the LAxxx version is for in place OTA upgrades and the LBxxx is the full ODIN/wipe version?
Be interesting to compare the actual files after release.
So we're the first US variant of the Galaxy S3 to get Jelly Bean? Sweet.
I believe the version changes once it hits Sprints hands. I think they have their own system for it
So for those of us that installed the latest leak in stock form still get the update?

This ota seems to be the same as the latest leak. It might have a few tweaks but probably nothing major. If your already rooted and on rooted stock, just wait for the rooted stock version to update to, or go back to EL29 and unroot and then wait for the update.
Sprint rolls out OTA's in waves though, so your looking at a few weeks in waiting time possibly.

That's what I thought
Anyways. I talked to a friend who works for sprint corporate in Overland Park and he confirmed this
This is exactly why Sprint's the bomb. They invest the most out of getting device support of any other carrier.
lol my bad. Didn't mean el29! I was helping another 2 other technicians to reflash software on a E4GT at the same time writing that.
Multi-tasking... not as much fun as it seems. Sucks when your the so called "go to" guy.

Just a quick question, really. I know that FL16 has been put out for testing and whatnot, but does Samsung plan to do an OTA update to 4.2.1 for our phones in the future, or is 4.1.2 going to be it for us?
Thanks

OK, that's good to know. I'm guessing that if it doesn't happen any improvements that 4.2.1 has will eventually, if not already, be available to be loaded onto the phone in custom ROMs or through other methods?
