Does anyone know if there is a way to completely remove the status bar in miui? I know you can in cm7 so I was wondering if anyone knew how or if we can?

Maybe try erasing the apk file? I'm not 100% sure though.

This would not remove it, it would just force close like crazy since it's integrated into framework.

By using another launcher, you can hide it.
Sent from my Incredible 2 HD using XDA App
Well that's why I want it removed is because I'm using launcher 7 and it doesn't look well with it. I can only hide it when I'm on my homescreen but once I open messaging or any other app it comes back

Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
No you have to be on touchwiz as far as I know. You could download the cm10 touchwiz theme and I think it themes the MMS to look like touchwiz a bit.

Anyways, the TW messaging app relies on the TW framework, so someone would have to modify and and remove the TW framework dependencies for it to work on an AOSP ROM.

Look in the settings of the AOSP messaging, there is an option there to change the look of the app, you can make them bubbles like you are talking about

I can't remember which ROM it was on but it had a stock SMS MMS app that you could pick all your own colors for text, background and even emojis . can someone please hook me up with the apk. I like stock apps that can be themed. Thanks.

You should try handcent. Has more theming options than you can dream of and you can make it look like stock pretty much. Plus backups are easier using a non-system app.

Extract the rom zip to a folder on your desktop. Open it up. Look inside for the apk you'd like. Copy it and place in a folder on your SD card. Then use an app like root browser to move it to (system/apps)

If you or someone post your request on XDA then is that called begging ?
And if it gets fulfilled then can't you just take 1KB of your bandwidth and thank someone.
