Hey I am on a Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition with Android 4.3 and my front facing camera is exactly like yours that you described. It looks like a painting and its quality is terrible, even though it is still 1920x1080. Did you eventuall fix your camera?

Sometimes its easier. However, I can safely say I've taken maybe 5 pictures since I purchased my first android phone using the FFC. There should just be an option OP, just like the OG note

All I can say is wow. The display is beautiful just amazingly clear and sharp. The S4 Pro Krait is just a work horse. In the last month I did a few trades. S3, Evo lte, iphone 5 and lastly the Note 2. I found a winner and the phone feels great in the hands. Build quality is top notch. Looking forward to jellybean.

i traded in my photon for the G. absolutely loving this thing so far!
Omg note 2 is worth so much more than lgog I hope you got money on top of that trade.

Ya at first I thought amoled screens were the be all, end all. As soon as I saw LGOG I was like wow. Everything is so crisp and colors were natural. Did a lil research on the screen and it turns out that it's 100% RGB accurate. My laptop has IPS and its only 60%ish.

As much as I love my LGOG I still think my Note 2 is a far superior phone no matter which way you slice it.
Not to mention the LGOG is very unpopular and people are pretty much giving them away on eBay for under 300 bucks so like someone already mentioned, I hope you got some cash in return for your Note.

Not really sure about that. It's running an outdated chipset, but the only thing going for it is that massive battery.

Outdated? I still get quantum scores equal and sometimes better then the OG. I agree the Qualcomm processor is better then the Tegra 3 but a phone is more than just its chip.
My LG suffers from weak 4g signal. Wifi connection doesn't seem as smooth as with my Note 2. An example is web pages don't load as fast as my Note 2. Lets not even discuss the camera and video playback.
You want to talk about software features? I think not. S-pen? Let me stop there.
LG, nice screen nice chipset. I give it that.

What ever chip it has weather its old or new, the thing performs great. I could show you some quantum scores if you want.
Like I said the lg optimus G has a great chip I won't argue that. But unfortunately a great chip doesn't help with a lot of the other Corky stuff my LG does.
They will get it right with the LG Optimus G pro

The note 2 is cool and all and popular but I didn't want a phablet anymore. It was huge and just wanted to get rid of it ASAP even swap I didn't care. Hardware wise the lgog is king of android IMO. Just think of the performance with JB. LG did great with this phone and I'm very pleased I just love the fit in the hands. I'm sure we will see some bug fixes the phone has only been out a minute. BTW the s3 feels fragile in the hand maybe because of the plastics.

I look at it the opposite as you. I feel like Samsung will get it right with the Note 3. The screen is blurry and blue, its made of crap materials, it has an obsolete processor, hugh bezel and a stupid hardware button.

Not sure why you are even comparing the G to the Note 2. The Note 2 is in the Phaglet category and the G is in the Phone category. But, if you do want to compare... the G has better build quality, premium materials, better screen(true rgb and higher pixel count), better processors, better(not bigger or removable) battery and better one handed use. That's a lot of "betters".

I believe you meant" here". And the screenie was an indirect way to say "I'm satisfied with my LGOG, no complaints here." I have nothing negative to say as they're both fine devices in their respective classes.

Are you sure you have a sprint S3? You're posting from the international version so I'm a little doubtful. If you're rooted it may also be a big with your rom, or maybe a common problem with your phone (if referring to int'l version)
I made a mistake.I have int version and it is not rooted l.maybe is a common problem who knows.

Low light photos tend to be grainy and don't look good, unless you have a very good camera. There is not really a cell phone out that takes low light pictures really well. You don't see the spots or grainy ness when you use the flash because there is more light. Take some pictures in sunlight and they will look great.

Yes i agree with you. When i take pics with more light they look very good and dont have spots. You think that is not a big deal?or maybe is a common problem for s3 and only i noticeed it,i cant belive

This is a problem with all phone cameras. They just don't have good enough sensors and what not to take good low light pics. If you want a great camera for low light images get a real DSLR camera.

I love DSLRs and use them quite often, so I might be able to shed some light (pun intended) on this situation.
I won't go into too much detail about it, but the low light performance comes down to the CMOS image sensor size. This article and this article do a good job of explaining what the camera sensor does, but it boils down to the following: a smaller sensor will be able to absorb less light than a larger sensor. This is why phone cameras will never be as good as (high end) DSLRs. This is also why, for the most part, size does matter when it comes to cameras (not 100% foolproof of a rule, but it stands).
Now, when you're taking a picture in a low-light area, the sensor picks up what it can. This is where software takes over. There are algorithms that cameras (both in DSLR and phone cameras) that interpret the sensor readings and compile them into an image. When the sensor can't read enough light, it's output to the algorithm won't contain enough information to provide an accurate picture. This is where grainy pictures come from and sometimes, artifacts like the ones you've been pointing out.
I'm not sure why it's happening primarily with low-light Red pixels on your phone, but it won't be fixed by getting a new phone. It'll be fixed by getting a $2K DSLR. Even though our cameras are 8MP, they will inherently be worse than a high-end camera. These cameras are nice for snapping a pic of a friend or relative or your favorite dish at that new restaurant, but if you're trying to blow them up to a poster, good luck with that! Having realistic expectations of the phone camera will help you be more satisfied with it.
---------- Post added at 12:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:46 AM ----------
I should also state that my previous post mainly applies to low-light conditions. Given adequate lighting conditions, this phone camera is phenomenal. The problem with the small sensor is that it takes more light to get adequate lighting. Hope this makes sense.
