[Q] vsync on? - HTC One X

Hi im a highly gaming player (pc) and i found having vsync ON "smooths" the game experience, so i would like to know if i this is possible in our GPU, as far as i can experience in my iphone 5 vsync is activated i want this in my HOX, what do tou think?
or maybe is easier to enable this option by each game, im interested on NFS at the moment and im pretty sure it can be enabled, any idea???

It is activated by default, locked at 60fps.
There is an init.d mod if you want to disable it though.

Now that I think about it, it is present in Pimp My ROM. DL from store, vsync is found under kernel tweaks.

doesn't this do the same thing that the options in Dev Tools do?
go try it out c what u think....i think its way better tho
What is different about it? It just allows you to control the speed of the stock android animations, right? Thats exactly what the option in dev tools does, I don't feel like wasting a dollar on something thats already built in.

Chainfire 3D doesn't work!!!!!!!

Can someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong because I tried installing chainfire 3D on my wfs but after installing it and rebooting, it still says for me to install. I'm not sure if I did something wrong but can someone help me with this issue. Thanks

You didn't read the app description, did you? It says:
!! Chainfire3D is for 1ghz+ devices only !!
The Wildfire S is only 600Mhz.
It just doesn't work, deal with it ... even with 806mhz oc ...
maybe one day we can overclock to 1ghz
it worked before when i was on android 2.3.3 but after updating to 2.3.5 it just doesnt work anymore for some reason

okay I was tryin to upload some of my screenshots here from Dead Space but I just cannot since I dont have enough posts on this forum = D. Nevermind, so just quicky..
I was testin it on 2 games Dead Space and Eternal Legacy.
There wasnt much difference on Dead Space. The textures looked the same, the HUD was just blury, game is playable without some changes via chainfire so no biggy. However I was tryin to smooth up Eternal Legacy because the game is really unplayable. With chainfire the difference was big. The textures was downscaled, less details and the HUD was blurry. Still the game is unplayable...

I hope that our phone won't be forgotten or next games/apps won't be optimized anymore for our legacy GPU
Well, considering GTA III runs like butter on my GNex, must be your AOKP rom.
And LOL, our legacy GPU? Wow...

Come on,do you think that the gpu is so strong? Maybe if the screen resolution was quite little, the gpu had work well. But since we have a wonderful screen,we need a gpu more powerful (try to play games with stock rom /kernel and tell me again how strong is the gpu)
However,which rom/kernel are you using?

do you play PC games at all?
if so, you should understand that a higher resolution drops the frame rate no matter what you do. a game running at 1024x768 runs very differently than 1900x1200.
its no different with the nexus.
Aokp contain faux kernel,it's strange that your phones run it well and mine doesn't. However,i uninstalled the game for mistake,i'll try later with different rom/kernel

so we have to wait that gameloft optimize the game for HD screens?
because I see now that also on one x is lagging as hell..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2tD6dCAkKo
and also on S3,no effects http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...tion_580371&src_vid=P2tD6dCAkKo&v=xtAAHjYVZs4 so it's a gameloft problem!!!
Guys, now i'm using cm9 and franco kernel milestone 4. Guess what? (Almost) 0 lags! I suggest to use interactive governor
I've been able to run GTA III with every graphical option turned all the way up and zero lag. That was when I was on...Skankwich CM9 with either PBJ or GLADOS kernel. I'll have to try it with my current set up, though I'm sure I won't have any hiccups.
And those who DID have tons of lag and such, were you all using AOKP? And Franco's kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
nova 3 runs pretty smoothly with cm9 and lean kernel with 1.5cpu oc and 512gpu oc.
However, as others mentioned it basically has zero special effects turned on and its much less smoother than nova 3 on my ipad 3 which has a lot of the special effects enabled.
Still a fun game on the galaxy nexus though, but it does highlight the fact that the galaxy nexus GPU is a bit under powered.

[Q] Tweaks to reduce lag on Sony original homescreen?

Is there any way to reduce the general slugginess the Xperia Home has? I really like it but the way it stutters around almost every time irks me a lot.
Has someone found any way to reduce the lagginess, without using custom kernels, on the stock rom?
By the way, I noticed that menus (such as the settings menu, or long lists of stuff like the installed apps list) get almost flawless if you enable "Force GPU Rendering" under Developer Options. The home launcher is never flawless smooth though. It's always a bit jerky and stuttery.
I seriously hope there is a way to make the phone feel more fluid when scrolling and swiping through things.
I gave up on the Sony home launcher after only a month of use, and have been using TSF Shell ever since. Smooth as butter transitions, and is all round simply awesome!!
Give it a try, but be warned, it is expensive. (But totally worth it!!)
Install the new jelly bean launcher. It's much smoother. Found it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061683
Guide:
1. Extract the zip after downloading.
2. Get the apk and install like a normal app. No root needed.

Holly Molly, Batman! You are right, the system is super smooth now.
Is there any drawback for having this enabled?
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
I tried the new home but found it less smooth than the original one... What gives?
How do you lock the home in memory? And how would that help with making it less stuttery?
And I don't know if having GPU rendering has any drawback. I've been using this for a couple of days and I haven't experienced any drawback, not even battery drain.
And I wonder why the multi quote button isn't working.

Its used gaming for gaming for better graphic and performance
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
From what I have experienced using it, is that it lowers down the graphic performance so that the game can run smoothly. Speed at the cost of high end graphics
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
It is a GUI modification software, it is capable of lowering down graphic details so that a certain program can run in lower performance phones. But it does not support most games though, I tried, uninstalled. It can even reduce quality of your launcher if you wanted to. But then your phone will look bad.
all the previous posts are relatively correct but ill just tell you one thing

In a nutshell:
Gingerbread ROMs are known to have incomplete OpenGL ES support. 3D games *require* OpenGL ES. Chainfire 3D adds the necessary drivers to Gingerbread.
