The last battery friendly rom is 4.1.1. Anything starting with 4.1.2 degraded the battery radically.

yes I noticed too. 4.1.2 is smoother but the losing in battery autonomy is worst than the marginal gain in smoothing. The Question is: will be 4.2 or (4.2.1 final ) battery friendly again like 4.1.1?

Go stock 4.1.1 to have as few variables as possible.

Have you really tried them all?
Do you sign out of all CPU cycle using apps, if you need to save juice? Like Google+, YouTube, Facebook, GPS, Etc.

How about this then (see attached images.)
I called my girlfriend, installed an app. texted a bit and listened to 30 minutes of music during that time.
Brightness on auto.
How to get there:
Install Omega ROM with custom bloatware. Select only the apps you need.
Flash the Perseus kernel.
Follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36678414
Also remember to close apps by hitting the back-button instead of the home button.
But if you keep using battery consuming apps, you are out of luck unless you underclock even more.

Try stock 4.1.1 and play with some of the kernels such as neak, redpill and perseus, some of these kernels have the option to under clock, but I recommend to start with stock rom 4.1.1 and stock kernel as well, and give each a kernel 2-3 days and test it out.
Hope this helps.

I'm still on rooted stock rom and I'm really happy with battery life. I think its more to do with the kernel.... there's Perseus kernel which has undervolt features in the Original Android Dev forum which might be of interest to you... couple that with Rom cleaner and you're good .... good luck

Read my question FIRST.
Then REPLY.
I said CUSTOM ROM.
Stock is not CUSTOM ROM.
There are stock custom roms. Consensus seems to be stock is the way to go.

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

Honestly, I have only ever noticed a marginal difference in battery life between any rom. Miui roms were always the worst in terms of battery, but between aosp, aokp, cm, I never actually found any serious difference.
I think any difference is either placebo or just from different usages.
With all that said, just try a few and use what you think seems best. But people seem to say wanam lite and hyperdroid or hypernote (I cant remember which) in combination with red pill or perseus kernel

KT747 Questions!

Hi all, i am currently running tasks aokp rom (latest). I am on underwear and wanted to get KT747, hearing a lot about it! So I have a couple of question!
1) Is the aosp version for aokp as well?
2) How is the battery life if combined with tasks?
3) which governer would be the best for a noobie like me?
4) How is the battery drain on idle (how much percent per hour)?
5) I read that if I flash this kernel and try to go back to rom I have to reinstall the wifi and Bluetooth drivers, How can I do this (what are the steps in case this does happen, so I know before hand)?
Thanks in advance!
You should spend a few hours reading in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886233
1.) Yes
2) Battery life and kernel performance/response will always be device dependent and vary dramatically from device to device.
3) If you're using KT's kernel, I suggest using his governor, Ktoonservative. KT even shared his own setting recommendations in his thread.
4.) Idle battery will again vary between device and settings, but to give you an idea, I had about 10hrs of battery time , 1hr15m screen and was at 67%. So, in my personal experience, battery life is phenomenal.

So if I flash the stock rom, its taken care of!? I'll check to see once more. Also can I get the kernel and not mess with any of the setting and still be fine? Like keep it all default?

Keep it default meaning what the kernel governor, scheduler and voltages, etc are when freshly installed? If so, yes. Though the beauty of the kernel is the customization and control.

3. will different launchers use different amounts of battery power like the next launcher seemed liked it used alot idk
4. whats the most popular and stable rom for the t989

I'm running the latest AOKP and don't have any issues. For your battery try downloading an app like better battery stats or something and see what's keeping your phone awake. Is it even going into deep sleep?

Yeah something is definitely eating your battery, it could be an app that's constantly running in the background. Download what I mentioned above and find out what's draining it so quickly. Also try wiping your caches and see if that helps

Try debiandroid by mmb it is the best rom for performance and battery right now...
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
maybe lower the cpu settings. setting the min cpu to 122mhz and the max cput to 672mhz will decrease the performance a lot but the battery life will extend also a lot. combine this with debiandroid by mmb and you have your solution. don't know exactly which governor you should use..
