Hello,
I'm trying to get tango video chat to work on my incredible 2.
Right now I can make a call with Tango and talk no problem, but if I make a video call or switch to speaker phone during the call, the other person can no longer hear me, and the phone feeds back really hard. I can still hear them.
I'm currently running CM7.2 stable, but have also tried it with a recent CM 7 nightly as well as MROM with the same results. I reverted back to a stripped down stock rom that I found on rootzwiki and it worked, but who wants to root and stick with the stock rom?
I've done a little bit of searching on Xda but haven't found anyone with my exact issue. Skype works fine, but I haven't tried any other video chat apps besides Tango and Skype.
Anyone have some thoughts?
Thanks.

I see that a requirement for Skype for Android is at least Froyo. Was wondering if Skype works with any of the Froyo ROMS that we have available. I know that they are based off of a leaked early build so maybe that functionality was leftout.
wrong answer. ignore this post
Works fine for me. I'm using Nebula but it probably works the same on all of them.

I just updated to Froyo(Frankenstein ROM) and I've been trying to get it to work. I can use the messaging, but I can't get a call to work. I can try setting up calls, but after 2, I get a two-calls already started error. I've been reading the Skype forums and it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem.
So some of you are able to make voice calls then?
I did some testing of video chat apps today with some fairly unfortunate results. Here they are:
1) Skype
--Video: Excellent
--Audio: Excellent, but some cases of no audio when making phone to phone calls.
--Bluetooth headset support: Yes
2) Qik from TMO
--Video: Very good
--Audio: Very good
--Bluetooth headset support: No
3) Yahoo Messenger
--Video: Very good
--Audio: Excellent
--Bluetooth headset support: No
4) OoVoo
--Video: Not tested yet on SGS2, but generally gave me problems on EVO 4G.
--Audio: Not tested yet on SGS2, but generally gave me problems on EVO 4G.
--Bluetooth headset support: No
5) Tango
--Video: Not tested yet on SGS2, but worked fine on EVO 4G.
--Audio: Not tested yet on SGS2, but worked fine on EVO 4G.
--Bluetooth headset support: No
I really don't like video chatting in public or work with the speaker phone blasting to everyone around. So having some kind of headset support is required for me. But it seems like only Skype has it, but neither of us have been able to hear audio on Skype calls on the SGS2. Has anyone gotten it working? or do you know of another video chat app that works on the SGS2 and has BT headset support?
Skype works great for me, it's actually the only one that I can actually have a conversation with, I've tried everything else Tango, Qik, Fring etc and they all cut out I can't ever hold an actual conversation, Skype is awesome I can hear them perfectly and there's almost zero delay!
Skype works fine with me....high quality video n audio.
Tmo Galaxy S2
I tested tango and skype and working very good but my personal opinion tango work much better in my samsung hercules
In my experience so far Skype is working best stock and rooted.

Honestly all we need is the video capability on the phone apk like the international version without the need of an app. If anyone got that working that would be the first time ill donate... Lol

Its not really any different than using an app. Its just the phone software is integrating with an application. No different then who the mytouch 4g had integration with qik video calling. It doesn't really mean its going to work better or worst than before. We just need the developers to make their apps more universal and better programmed for video chat.

I tried some more Skype calls. I had extremely good success from my phone to Skype on the PC. Even internationally. The person I called remarked how great the FFC video looked (better than my PC webcam).
The sound was very good on both sides when using my Samsung included wired headset. The noise canceling on Skype with the loud speaker used for audio was also quite good! I think that it gets worse with a slower connection though.
I need to try some more Skype phone to phone calls with Bluetooth over 4G to see if I can figure out what the problem was the other day.
Whenever I'm using any Wifi to make a phone call, my voice is not projected. I can hear the other person completely fine and otherwise, my phone is completely functional. Once I make a video call, my voice is projected fine and the other person is able to hear me.
I've tested this with multiple apps such as Skype, Vonage, and Kakao Talk. The only other app where I've used "phone call" and have had my voice heard was Tango.
I'm unsure of why this is which is why I'm asking here in the Q&A.
Could it be that there's something wrong with my phone from the get-go and I should just convert back to stock and talk to AT&T about this? Or is this a problem that other SG3 users have seen with their phone, or with the AOKP JB Build, although I don't think it's the build since other users haven't reported this issue.
Specs of my phone:
SG3 AT&T- Refurbed
AOKP JB Build 10.28.2012
Suggestions or ideas?

I've never tried any app for WiFi calling besides Talkatone, but it works fine over 3g and WiFi for me using my Gvoice number. Could be that those apps are not fully functional on JB yet. It hasn't been out long and you know how app devs are with Android. If not, they usually help us after iPhone, but before WM.
Edit: My suggestion: Try Talkatone.
My wife has a E4GT and has been running some nightlies of various builds of CM10 that I've found on the xda forums. Most everything works reasonably well with various tweaks here and there, but the one thing we can't get to work is Skype. She has relatives in China and likes to use Skype to video chat with them on her phone. Other software is often either not available in China or is blocked. Skype is the only video chat software that seems to work at least most of the time. However, on the E4GT the volume is extremely low when using the speakerphone and the microphone doesn't work when trying to use a headset. They both work fine in regular calls, just not in Skype. Anyone know of a fix or another software that works on this device and has a Windows version that can be used in China? If not, anyone know where I can find the source and build instructions for a jellybean based ROM for this device (preferably CM10 based)? I'd be happy to work on a fix myself if I could get help getting started. I'm only slightly familiar with the build process as I play around with tweaks to code on my Galaxy Nexus device here and there. Thanks!
I am having an issue with Skype. People I talk to, cannot see me on video over Skype. I can see them, and I CAN see myself, but they cannot see me.
This issue only happens when I run custom ROM's. I have tried Infamous, Golden Eye, and others. Almost seems like there is something in the customs roms that interferes with sending the video over to the other person.
I have played with Skype settings and it din't make any difference.
When I run stock ROM, this issue is non-existent. Skype works properly.
Anyone has any ideas what is causing it? I would really like to use a custom ROM, yet Skype video is very important to me.
Please help!
