My wife has a E4GT and has been running some nightlies of various builds of CM10 that I've found on the xda forums. Most everything works reasonably well with various tweaks here and there, but the one thing we can't get to work is Skype. She has relatives in China and likes to use Skype to video chat with them on her phone. Other software is often either not available in China or is blocked. Skype is the only video chat software that seems to work at least most of the time. However, on the E4GT the volume is extremely low when using the speakerphone and the microphone doesn't work when trying to use a headset. They both work fine in regular calls, just not in Skype. Anyone know of a fix or another software that works on this device and has a Windows version that can be used in China? If not, anyone know where I can find the source and build instructions for a jellybean based ROM for this device (preferably CM10 based)? I'd be happy to work on a fix myself if I could get help getting started. I'm only slightly familiar with the build process as I play around with tweaks to code on my Galaxy Nexus device here and there. Thanks!

I see that a requirement for Skype for Android is at least Froyo. Was wondering if Skype works with any of the Froyo ROMS that we have available. I know that they are based off of a leaked early build so maybe that functionality was leftout.
wrong answer. ignore this post
Works fine for me. I'm using Nebula but it probably works the same on all of them.

I just updated to Froyo(Frankenstein ROM) and I've been trying to get it to work. I can use the messaging, but I can't get a call to work. I can try setting up calls, but after 2, I get a two-calls already started error. I've been reading the Skype forums and it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem.
So some of you are able to make voice calls then?
Yesterday, I flashed CM10.0.0 stable release via "ROM Manger Premium" app by ClockWorkMod from Play store after rooting my T-mobile Galaxy S3 along with app provided Gapps package. Everything works great and I was really liking this ROM and considered this as my primary ROM. However, the excitement was short lived when I called my girlfriend using skype and viber. I had very low volume issue on viber(according to my girlfriend) and weird sound(according to my girlfriend) issue on skype on my girlfriend's side of the call. Those problems went away when I hung up the call, reflashed my stock TouchWiz 4.0.4 on my phone and immediately called her back. I was wondering if any other people has or had the same problem and is there a fix on that issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
This is a member of the Viber R&D Team.
It sounds like the typical Custom ROM issue - some custom ROMs alter the microphone definitions of your phone, causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread on XDA Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775
Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Hello,
I'm trying to get tango video chat to work on my incredible 2.
Right now I can make a call with Tango and talk no problem, but if I make a video call or switch to speaker phone during the call, the other person can no longer hear me, and the phone feeds back really hard. I can still hear them.
I'm currently running CM7.2 stable, but have also tried it with a recent CM 7 nightly as well as MROM with the same results. I reverted back to a stripped down stock rom that I found on rootzwiki and it worked, but who wants to root and stick with the stock rom?
I've done a little bit of searching on Xda but haven't found anyone with my exact issue. Skype works fine, but I haven't tried any other video chat apps besides Tango and Skype.
Anyone have some thoughts?
Thanks.
I am running the 8/12 nightly build of Pac-man 4.4.4 rom for the Galaxy nexus GSM (Maguro). Overall everything is working good, however I ran into a problem today, that has me a little confused...
I have a Toyota car with the Entune Radio. The bluetooth feature connects just fine, and I can stream music and make calls, however the system is not able to transfer my call history or address book. Digging into this a little bit, I'm wondering if the latest build of Pacman may not support the PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) that is required.
Unfortunately I don't have enough posts to allow me to directly ask the question in the development thread, so I'm hoping someone will see it in this forum and respond.
Any help is appreciated...
Phil
I installed CM12.1 on my d851 and I cannot disconnect calls. I tap the red button to hang up and the phone app hangs on "hanging up" but does not actually disconnect. Has anyone successfully gotten the CM12.1 dialer to work on the T-Mobile G3?
I have the same issue when I install other custom roms based on CM.
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: dialer will not hang up
Hi,
Did you ever work this out as I'm also having issues with CM
12.1 not hanging up on galaxy s3 Verizon.
Thanks
David
Having the same issue as well 2 i605 on cm 12.1 just switched from rip off VZW to T-Mobile and this bug started. Phones worked fine on Verizon... Can someone please get this fixed?
i don't have a solution for cm12.1 but maybe if i share the (quick) solution that was used in cm11, some smart person here can figure it out--hopefully, once and for all.
in cm11, all you had to do was add a single character to a field in build.prop, which was something like:
ro.telephony.ril.v3=newDriverCall
to get:
ro.telephony.ril.v3=newDriverCallU
in cm12.1, the rom is presumably already shipped with the correct settings:
ro.telephony.ril.config=newDriverCallU,newDialCode
but does not work (for those of us using sph-720, especially). someone who understands android can maybe port the old (and simple) fix to the new one(?)
also, i appreciate the work guys do to get us these builds, but it'd be nice not to reintroduce big issues like these as it basically forces a potential user not use the rom, which then wastes the hard work of porting it to a particular device in the first place. i can live without data since i use wifi heavily, but not being able to receive calls is a no-no.
