Xperia play as controller on pc - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
Sorry if this was asked before. I can't find it
Is it possible to use the xperia play as a controller on the PC? I don't need the XPlay, because I have got a new phone, but I don't want to give my play away. Is there any solution? Via Bluetooth, USB, Wireless?

I have not tried this myself but perhpas if you combine this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nemex.nJoy&feature=search_result
With this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.gamekeyboard&hl=nl
You might be able to map the touchscreen locations of the 1rst app to hardware buttons with the 2nd and controll it that way?
PS: To propery use the 2nd app your phone needs to be rooted, not sure about the 1rst app.
Kind regards, Stefan.

[Q] Media player/ DLNA app like Sony Tablet

Hi - I've been looking for an app for my phone that will allow me to "throw" media to a DLNA compatible device (TV/ Laptop etc) so that I can control the content being played from my phone..
I've seen the demo of the Sony Tablet app that does this.. but I'm not aware of a generic app that will do the same on my arc? It doesn't have to be a "throw" action.. just want to be able to select a device to play the media on, from the phone..
something slick, if possible!..
Cheers.

N64oid Bluetooth Gamepad without root?

So I had n64oid installed on my rooted xperia play and used a ps3 gamepad, because I think this was more comfortable for n64 games. I used the sixaxis app to do this, which required root. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to use an Bluetooth gamepad, without rooting the device, because n64oid has plenty options for these gamepads, which rather confuses me.

I think you can get an app from the market that allows you to connect a specific bluetooth gamepad... but dude, you have an Xperia PLAY why? The whole point of it is the built-in gamepad
I just reread your question, and you have a rooted phone but don't wish to use an app that needs root? Err.. then why root?
I asked this because I think about buying a new phone, because my play has some weird issues and I'm not that happy with it anymore. But I don't want to root my new phone because it seems a lot more difficult than it is with Sony Ericsson phones, but I want to play games via hdmi output on my tv. So it would be great to connect a Bluetoothcontroller to xperia play or any other phone without rooting it.

Why oh why would you want to play games from your phone on your tv? Just go buy a ps3 or xbox they are a dime a dozen

Any way at all?

Is there any way at all to connect the xperia play to a hd TV? (hdmi)? Without adding your own port in. Could you use an app to stream the play screen to another Android device which has hdmi and go from there?
Thanks

Click to collapse
Not even with the streaming idea mentioned above?

That streaming app can only be used for music and pics doestn have the power for video plus theres no real way to do it our device isnt powerful enough the xbound might work because its a gpu on a hdmi connection which you send data to and it does all the work. We are still waiting for the release.

I've got a HP touch smart Bluetooth keyboard, and it works perfectly without having to mess around with any root privileges.
Have you still got the smart connect app from sony installed? It used to be called liveware manager.

Yes, i have.
I have tried to download some apps that maybe could connect the keyboard correctly, but none of them are working.
The keyboard is now working on my PC, but still not my phone.
The keyboard is connected, but just doesnt work.

ouya Xperia Play?

I wanted to know...is there any possible way...maybe as an xposed mod or anything to make my ouya believe its an xperia play? Like for playing with xperia play optimized apps...
I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for but maybe try this?
