Any way at all? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way at all to connect the xperia play to a hd TV? (hdmi)? Without adding your own port in. Could you use an app to stream the play screen to another Android device which has hdmi and go from there?
Thanks

Not even with the streaming idea mentioned above?

That streaming app can only be used for music and pics doestn have the power for video plus theres no real way to do it our device isnt powerful enough the xbound might work because its a gpu on a hdmi connection which you send data to and it does all the work. We are still waiting for the release.

[Q]Recorded videos not plaiyng properly

When I record video on my phone, doesn't matter which app, either stock, or ICS app, it won't play properly.
It will either play 2x speed with no sound, or normal speed with skipping audio.
Same thing happens if I transfer it to my PC or another phone.
If I play other videos that weren't recorded using this phone, like ones from my old X10 or regular movies, it plays fine.
Any ideas?
does anyone have ANY ideas?
I cant figure this out.
Still waiting, anyone?

Anyone?

try lowering the resolution or use advance stock kernel by doomlord
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Very vague. What rom and kernel are you using? Try being more specific when you ask questions so people know what you're running, otherwise you'll keep getting no possible solutions.

wait, whats wrong with it in fpse? I havent gotten very far but everything seems to work fine in it.
I can confirm ff8 does not work properly with FPse. The cut scenes have no sound and the game slows down sometimes.

Watching Avengers on TV

I downloaded it on my phone but I am unable to stream it on my LG Smart TV. DLNA, WiFi Direct nothing. Could neone watch it on the TV?

I think you have to use AllShare Cast to watch it on your TV. You'll have to buy the dongle.

Well I wanted to do it wirelessly but I guess this is the only option

Watch it using mxplayer and hdmi adapter. It is stored in a hidden folder in internal storage. Move it to a folder that is not hidden.

I moved it to my extSdCard and tried to use All Share Play over wifi, but since its a DRM enabled .pyv file it didnt work.

I have LG as well. The video player on LG does not support .pyv videos.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the movie!!! I tried everything to get it to play wirelessly on my tv but it would not work.

Can it be played through a Xbox or PS3?
Been trying to figure out too without buying the dongle. So even using wifi direct wont work?

I don't know anything about how any of this technology works, but that seems unnecessarily restrictive to me. As long as it can only physically play on the phone why should they care if you can stream it?
You, sir, are waaaaaaay too logical for your own good.
Where exactly is the movie file stored after you download it from media hub

All this drm crap is making this way too difficult. If the Avengers movie is being offered to me for free, why can't I be able to view it on my "smart" tv wirelessly.

I can't remember the name of the app, but there is a program that allows 2 mobile devices (tablets and/or smartphones) to connect this way. The app for the host device is a paid app but each addon device utilizes a free controller app. In this instance, your HTC would use the paid host app to be used with a stereo, TV, computer, etc and your s3 (and any other phones/tablets) would use the free remote control app. I'll see if I can find it again
