Hey guys, I have r800a which is unlocked and with an unlocked bootloader. I have attempted to install and troubleshoot this problem for
a couple of hours with no solution, so I'm wondering if you guys can help me out.
My phone just doesnt seem to want to work with the kernels that come with the CM ROMS. On both the CM 9 and 10 I get a black screen after flashing the .img and rebooting, so I just switched from kernel to kernel until I found one which worked, which was this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1541482) one. With this kernel the phone actually booted to CM9 nicely, but the Wi-Fi simply wont turn on, as in it simply refuses to turn on and gets stuck on "Turning on...". After searching on google for this problem, the only solution I'm seeing is to flash some modules.zip along with the CM9 boot.img file, which simply isn't working for me.
So can anyone help me get this kernel working, or help me with my Wi-Fi problems?
Thanks in advance
Use the kernel from the FXP152 rom until the next working one is available. If you flash some other custom kernel you might have to install the wifi modules that come with that kernel.

Or just use LuPuS kernel or turbo kernel
For WiFi sometimes when I flash GAPPS it causes the problem. Try seeing if it works without GAPPS installed.

With LuPus I just get an enless boot screen, first I'll try the FXP152 kernel and if that doesn't work I'll try the turbo kernel.
If WiFi doesnt work with GAPPS then what should I do to fix it?
EDIT: Is there a place where I can download the FX152 kernel boot.img by itself? The download from uploaded.net just hates me and keep canceling.

Why are you using Lupus kernel?!?! Lupus is not up to date with the latest fxp changes (way way back). Dont try turbo kernel either not up to date. The only viable kernel for you is FXP.

ArcKnight 3.6 doesn't boot, 3.5.1 does.
Also ArcKnight doesn't have the sony logo.
Stock kernel should always work, unless you're using some init.d script that causes a boot loop.
Have you tried flashing everything from scratch?

The Sony logo comes after i flashed the new ROM and tries to reboot.
I have tried flashing a bounce of times, always the same ending.
I flash an older firmware, roots, puts in the new kernel, and then installing the ROM. Then when i restart its just goes to Sony logo and stay there.

To flash another kernel you need to unlock your bootloader.
Rooting it won't do the trick.

System restore and dalvik cache...
You say you flashed .42 as the old firmware and start from there.
That's a gingerbread rom and JJ Hybrid is an ICS rom.
Also you can't use ICS on a gingerbread kernel and vice versa.
I suggest you flash the official ICS update from sony, which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
And then try to flash your favorite ICS kernel, factory reset, format system and then flash your favorite ICS rom.
Good luck!

ROM cannot be installed like this.
You are flashing kernel with that command.
Stock ROM needs to be installed via Flashtool. Or another fastboot command("fastboot flash system filename.img" for system folder).

OK first remove kernel from extracted zip... Then re-zip rom. Flash kernel in fastboot... Boot into recovery using either Vol. Down or the back button... Depending on kernel. Once inside recovery. Clear data, cache, & dalvik. Once those are done... Install from sd.

I follow all the instructions correctly
I've got a Xperia Play root and unlocked bootloader

Check the zip. Make sure the files meta-inf & system are the first you see when you go into zip. If not you need to rezip to where the extra folder is gone.

Fw version will only make a difference to signal, data, battery ect, it still boots on other FW. Anyway to the point, do not use ics kernel bootlogo takes an extra couple of seconds to come on on JB kernel. Because u say u flashed lupus-isc-beta im assuming u know how to flash kernels. Ive probably flashed this over 50+ times since v2 with both flashboot (sdk) & flashtool. Did you try the kernel below the ROM Downloads??
And do click thanks to the users who have been helping you thats why its there

Hello everyone.
I recently installed pureness build 14 sp1 and xarc kernel.
Everything works fine except one thing i noticed. When I hit the reboot option I get stuck in a reboot loop.
I have to enter CWM and select power off in order to be able to start my device.
Any suggestions?
reflash the rom
check compatibility kernel with rom
This is the only problem I faced so far I think I will use shut down and restart for the moment. I thought it was some setting that I wouldn't see.
Because a lot of people are using this combination I think it is not a matter of compatibility.
Keep in mind that I am a rookie at this and this is my first experience with custom roms and kernels
first step use stock kernel, try

my phone is rooted and I installed custom rom xperia Ultimate HD
the bootloader is not unlocked
the phone is fully working except for wifi
this is the answer of the developer of the rom:
Q 4: My WiFi doesn't work. What can I do?
A: Flash WiFi Modules for your Kernel. If you are on stock kernel, reflash stock WiFi Modules. If that, doesn't work, reflash the ROM and Check MD5 Sums.

It's included in the recommended kernel, or use X-Parts
Recommend Rush Kernel V10, it has CWM included allready.
Lupus 9 aswell as Radeon 3 also got it
just flash the kernel via flashtool in fastboot mode, enter cwm by holding volume button down and flash your desired wifi modules attached in each kernel thread

I guess you are still on locked bootloader. Follow the steps to flash Wifi Modules:
Follow the link X-Parts to install CWM from Playstore.
Download Stock Wifi Module(.zip file) and place it in SD card
Reboot your phone and boot into CWM by pressing volume rockers repeatedly during the boot
Select 'Install zip from SD card' and choose the Wifi module zip.
Select reboot to system and you are done!
Hope it helps!

Hi,
I have been trying to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383768 ROM for about a few hours now but don't seem to get it work on my Arc S (LT18i) I followed all the steps mentioned in the thread and everything installs correctly. The lupus kernel loads properly but after that I am stuck at a black screen showing nothing. Could anyone please help me with this.I event tried going back to stock and then rooting and then installing the ROM but the same black screen is displayed again.
Thanks and regards,
Amit Mirchandani
EDIT:
I was able to make the ROM work by installing the boot.img kernel inside the zip file. But it is not loading for me with the LUPUS kernel downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867265&highlight=lupus. Please can anyone help with this
EDIT:
Okay I was able to get it to work with lupus as well. I guess I downloaded the wrong kernel which was of ICS and was able to get it to work once I flashed the JB kernel. Sorry for bothering anyone.
Thanks and Regards,
Amit Mirchandani
