Thanks I suppose. That thread and mod is over a year old. It works. But Hulu Plus works on the GN2. In fact, Hulu Plus on the market is version 2.4 and the modded one you link to is version 1.0.1.
This mod is good if you want to use HML out. I don't know if it's the mod, but video out is not disabled. The one from the market you can't use HML/HDMI out.

Whats the point of this? Am I missing something? Still cant watch full episodes. I need to be a subscribed customer all I can watch are the free ones=lame

basically, not all android devices Hulu let use Hulu Plus. The mod gave the ability to use Hulu Plus on any Android device. It had nothing to do with giving free access, which was stated in the original thread.

No, I have sgn2 running Paranoid android 4.1.2 and I couldn't watch anything. I keep getting this, until I downloaded modded apk

ah gotcha. I'm running a deoxedized stock rom and have no issues.
My guess, the rom is missing the DRM keys. On my tablet (asus tf700t) if I unlock the boot loader to flash custom anything, the DRM keys will be removed and then Hulu Plus won't work.
But what I said about HDMI out still holds true.

I'm sure if I restore back to my stock deox that it will work fine too but gotta have my ParanoidAndroid

[Q] Samsung Remote apk (TV remote)

Does anyone have the apk for the latest, v2.2.5, Samsung Remote app? I know it's not officially supported by the gnex but I've just got my first LCD TV (UE40D6530 even though you didn't ask) after having an SD CRT for donkeys and I heard it may work.
By the looks of it it's out there on various random sites but I really don't trust them.

SamyGo Remote works with samsung tv's (UE55 even though you didn't ask ).
Cheers, saw SamyGo but wasn't sure if it was for the newer ones and wanted to compare it to the real deal. Guess I'll just have to use that, my TV doesn't support twin view or dual view or whatever it's called anyway.
Bump as I've got SamyGo which does work but doesn't allow for easy text input, say for searching iPlayer or using the built in web browser.
I've emailed Samsung to request an update to the app so it supports ICS but no idea how long that could take.
Does anyone have a copy they can post? The official Samsung app is the only one that allows you to turn your TV on with Bluetooth and I have heard that the apk works with the galaxy nexus.
Also interested. I have a le40652 possibley meant to have a B in there not sure. I don't think the official Samsung one supports my TV its one year too old, I never got on very well with this whole sammygo swapping TV firmwares I couldnt get it to work.

I tried the app (not connected to the TV), and it seems it's locked to a lower resolution so it won't go fullscreen. I still hope it works with my TV, since even with smaller graphics it is still better then sammygo
/edit: The app works, I've not tried it with Bluetooth only wifi.
can anybody please post a mirror? link to dropbox doesn't work anymore.
thanks
Its 2.2.5
Anyway to change the dpi (make it full screen)
Samsung smartview supports higher resolutions. Try getting that apk

Allshare/DLNA is freakin COOL!

My parents just got one of those HD sets with it built in and so I finally tried this feature. It worked really well aside from some pausing, which I'm guessing is choking due to it being a 720p video from my phone and maybe the connection. The video itself was only about 45 seconds.
But what chiefly impressed me other than the proof of concept was that the devices recognized each other right away. Does anyone use it and is it smoother than my experience?
I've used it once before and put my music from my phone onto my ps3 other than that not really but I agree it is pretty awesome

Gmote is also very cool, but it hasn't been updated in forever and is sorely missing some features. Of course it doesn't use DLNA but it serves some of the same functions.

Hmmm...You should be able to find the apk around somewhere and put it back. I use Titaniaum backup and was able to keep it with that. I believe I have seen it available somewhere though. dlna.apk if I remember right is AllShare.
Dlna.apk
i just tried to install the apk for this and it will not install, i adb pushed it to /system/app and it still doesnt show up or anything. i am by no means an expert at this but i try alot of different stuff on my phone, anyone have anything else i can try to get the apk to install? i pulled the ak from this google spreadsheet, and it shows up at allshare v2.0

I also have TW on CleanGB. A couple posts had noted a difference between odex and deodex roms. That could be the issue. CleanGB is deodex.
This thread has a link to an apk that some had luck with:

but my TV has AllShare. lol i do use iMediaShare, but i was still curious why it wouldnt let me install it. i threw some tw files on my cm7 epic and got kies air to work, but allshare still wont work... i also got SamsungApps to work and installed Allshare Player from there but its not the same. it does work pretty close to the same though from what i remember of AllShare.
The wife and I both have Samsung phones... We recently picked up a 60 inch Samsung LED TV... Allshare works blazingly simply. Fire up the app, select what you want, and away it goes. It just works.

Does it ever choke or stutter on larger video files? Is the DLNA protocol somehow bandwidth limited? Maybe distance is a factor, or is it CPU/memory of the phone? Just curious because my one test choked some.

I've found that if I use the samsung task killer widget to kill apps (just hit the X), then go run allshare subsequent videos all run fine.
If I don't and just start trying to share videos, yeah it stutters badly.
I have a samsung plasma with all share and imediashare will play video to it without any problems
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Hmm I just installed imediasharelite. I didn't have to kill anything to get it to stream videos without stuttering. Nice.
I'm running CM7 now, and it doesn't have allshare, so I'm using skifta, it's a great alternative.

Stock Kindle Apps

I LOVE my jelly bean Kindle but miss my stock Kindle reader a lot. I've searched and read a lot and find references focusing the stock launcher to load the stock reader but it doesn't work for me ("sorry, launcher has closed"). I've seen other references to 'dual booting' being the only solution (I don't think I miss it enough to boot every time I want to read - I do have a kindle keypad if I really need to get a fix .
[Q] Anyway, I just wanted to ask here whether anyone knows whether/how I can use the stock reader on my CM10 ROM.

Hi, obviously this post is looking kinda dead, but I am definitely interested if you've found something elsewhere? I am looking into rooting my girlfriend's kf for her but I am sure she wouldn't want to lose a major feature such as that. I know they are alternatives but like you said im sure it would be missed and a deal-breaker for her to flash a rom
Don't be worried about that! The google play kindle app is basically the same one you have with the stock rom!

So not! It is painful to lose the stock kindle reader (have u seen the ipad ad? Maybe the android app will get updated...)
Anyway, dual boot is the only way to have both. You will also lose video streaming.

well i havent tried between devices but all i want to do is screen mirror to my tv using the allshare cast dongle
It's not going to work. Been trying for over a year. It's a lost cause.
Sucks.
My Screen Sharing works fine on STOCK Rooted, that's it.
I was using the Wicked ROM for the longest time, played with a few others. Could never get it to work.
I just recently ODIN Flashed and Relocked back to stock. Just used the CF-Auto-root method to root again. No custom kernel, no ROM. Just stock rooted and it works! Which sucks!
And this is all just to use my stupid AllShare Dongle
---------- Post added at 07:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:57 AM ----------
I forgot to add after rooting I did run Triangle Away to reset my flash counter to 0 and the binary to Official.
I did try the method above and it does work while being rooted but since its stock kernel I can't use wifi tethering which I need to have working.

But how do you register the AllShare Cast Dongle w/ your Samsung Link account?
I just turn on samsung link and I click the movie or file I want top play and there should b an all share icon on the too left corner. Once you tap that it should show the devices you wanna play it on. Like I have a 32 inch samsung smart tv. So thatll pop up for me. The file will play right to the tv. You can even do this directly with the video or music player. Just that the allshare icon on the app.

Yes for those options it's fine, but it's not true screen sharing. Like being able to use a MOGA controller and fire up your SNES emulator and share the screen on the TV.
While i'm able to do that now on the Stock ROM and Stock Kernel once I change away I lose that capability and that's what is wanting to be maintained. True honest screen sharing, not app/file sharing/streaming.

Not sure. But I remember all attempts at watching Amazon Prime Video on android for me were useless (I know the app is out now), tried flash (latest version for ICS and above), and it didn't work. Googled "Amazon Prime Video Android" and somewhere I found it. And ot worked. The link I had downloaded from (someone's Google Drive), says it vioated terms of service.

I've never heard of a hacked version. I'll look into. As far as flash video playback goes the stock android and samsung browser don't or don't fully support flash anymore.

I don't recall whether it was Netflix, Amazon, or both, but at least one of them runs on Microsoft's Silverlight. Not flash.
