I've been reading through trying to find reviews, but I only really found one: the review about the Zagg HD protectors and their inferior quality to the original. What cases are most of you using? I saw a few names mentioned here and there in comments, but I hope to consolidate that information here by having you mention what quality you like best with that brand. PS I ordered an Otterbox which comes with a screen protector--How is their protector (not gotten it yet)?

Hands down. Clear protector
Lol otterbox defender screen protector are a joke. Every built in screen protectors are a joke for that matter.. IMO. They take away so much screen quality it's not even funny. Or at least the ones i have experienced. my first case was ob defender, yanked the screen protector out, put on a regular screen protector. Best thing I could of done.

So what brand of screen protector should I buy? Should I just take a gamble and buy the Lloyd protector from Android Central? If so, HD or anti glare?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
I wound up buying the protectors from the T-Mobile store. I hated paying like 14$ for 2 protectors when i couldve gotten them for less but they actually worked out great with the Seidio Surface Case i'm using. The protector doesnt go fully edge to edge on the front, so it doesnt interfere with the seidio case when sliding in the top and bottom halves.
My girlfriend has a Zagg on her SII and although she loves it to death, I'm really not a fan. Opposites attract right?:victory:

Go for the hd imo. I just recently put on an antiglare and took it off with in 5 minutes, couldn't stand the washed out images. Looked great under light but in dark places screen quality looked blurred out. At least that was with the product i had. It was a cheap ebay screen protector

I've been look around to find a nice screen protector to use. I've been using a crappy $1 from eBay, which don't get me wrong does the job, but I'm looking for something nicer. Something with more quality and maybe a different option, like oleophobic or something.
I've been looking around and reading a lot of reviews. It seems I'm stuck and I can't decide.
Realook VS. Spigen
What do you suggest? Any thought? What do you use for a screen protector?

Your screen protectors scratch easily? I don't even think that they are near necessary with this phone. I've had mine for about 5 and a half months, I work construction and carry it around in my pocket without a case or screen protector and I don't have a single scratch on the thing. It's neigh invulnerable the only damage to it is a thin scratch along the bottom back by the speaker but its not on the glass so I don't care.
The Zagg Invisibleshield is pretty good, but it has kind of an orange peel look to it. I've only been told good things about the Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protectors. You could always try that, or the other screen protectors they have.

XO skins does a great job little less orange peel look and not quite as sticky as zagg invisible shield though both are good products priced about the same. I've used both xo on my e4gt now zagg on my evo 4g.
Check out the Steinheil screen protectors (Amazon search: Steinheil Epic 4g Touch). They are pricey, but well worth it. I have the Ultra Crystal on mine and although it still picks up fingerprints they wipe right off with a microfiber cloth. I've had it on since I got my phone 4 months ago and there is not a single scratch on it anywhere. They do have different types (like the oleophobic) so you should find what you're looking for.
i use from radio shack or walmart there universal in a blue package u get 5 for 11 bucks if ur good at puttin them on like i am 1 last me 4 months and im a metal fabricator... im rough. gl!

Yea the spigen is the same as the steinheil. I don't know which 1 to get tho.
The steinheil/spigen protectors have more options. Like ultra crystal/oleophobic/fine film.
But I've heard better reviews about the realook. But realook only has "crystal clear".

I went with reallook at first, didnt like them. As you put the screen protector on, it creates lots of bubbles. I got them to send me 2 replacement packages literally within 2 days after bought.
Right now I have the matte antiglare. Its like 3$ for a pack of 6. Free shipping too

ghost armor is the best screen protector ever. It's so strong and you can't even tell there's a screen protector on it

If you have any intention on re-selling your device, then you will get way less if the screen is all scratched to ****.
Mine is a 10/10 still. I can get top dollar for it.

+3 on the Steinheil ultra-crystal. they truly feel like the glass screen, and are near impossible to scratch. most people don't even know I have one on, really!
I've tried lots of different kinds but always come back to steinheil. i've used them on many devices in the past years. ultra-crystal is my favorite.
signed, a happy non-paid shill haha
I finally broke down and got an S3 today and also picked up a pack of the ridiculously expensive stick-on screen protectors that Verizon sells as I didn't want to take any chances in between buying the phone and getting some cheap ones. Anyway, the screen looks very grainy with the protector, especially when displaying lighter images. I really don't mind that much but when I'm taking pictures it really bugs me. I was wondering if anyone knows of a screen protector for the S3 that is durable but doesn't make the screen look all grainy.
Thanks!
The screen protector that comes with the otter box case is perfect. You really don't even notice it at all. It's the best screen protector that I have personally used

I'm not a big fan of the otterbox defender screen protector. As a matter of fact I am not even using it. I think there are a lot of protectors that don't look grainy, I wish I could find one that didn't show fingerprints.

I'm not a fan of cases in general, so I bought an Armor Shield full-body protector - essentially it's like screen protector film, but they send precut pieces to protect all of the phone rather than just the screen.
I'm really really impressed with the whole package - the body parts are cool in that they really just give a great grip (the stock phone is really slippery), but the screen protector is really impressive in all the ways screen protectors have disappointed me in the past.
This one doesn't feel rubbery (interestingly, since the body parts add grip), in fact my finger glides on it better than the glass surface. That was surprising.
And, this one doesn't collect fingerprint grease.
I'm betting armor shield sells the screen protectors solo... and probably affordable, I think the whole body package with the screen protector was only $15.
And it's clear, I think for your original question, just avoid "matte finish" screen protectors. Those are the ones with the hazy/grainy finish.
Just in the market for a new screen protector and wanted some input from you guys.
So what is the current screen protector that you guys are rocking on your S3?
Also, how do screen protectors stack up to each other?
(Zagg vs Ghost Armor vs Mercury vs Spigen vs Military Shield and others)
Spigen Curved Crystal! Its a dry install protector thats almost edge to edge maybe a few mm's short, but it definitely sticks on the edges. Feels and looks like there as if nothing on the screen. Only complaint is that is does scratch somewhat easily but whatever. Also two protectors come in each pack.
I always used clear-coat on my devices. Love their products and customers support. Just bought me some xtreme guards and love it also.. very cheap and works awesome.

also using the sgp curved crystal with a modello case. i bought it knowing about the scratching and denting issues and have been completely satisfied with it. was using a bestskinsever wet application before and don't know if i'd ever be able to go back. the drag drives me nuts.
any idea of what may a good matte screen protector that goes all the way to the edges? most i've found are all too small
quick tip dont buy the £4 ones from sainsburys they dont cover the full screen and make the touchscreen unresponsive
My favorite is the dba just like glass
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
these are the three I like.
skinplayer 3D mask film for edge to edge coverage, once on you don't notice it.
fonemax glass screen protector
mercury edge to edge protector with colour boarder.
I use Vikuiti. It's less well-known, but the people who've seen often don't notice I even have a protector on, until I point it out to them. It doesn't cover the whole front, and is pretty much made to fit the width of the screen, and length of the phone. Haven't found the need to use any other brand of protectors so far :good:
I would suggest Spigen Ultra Crystal! Good protection, scratch resistance, fit to any case!..
Hands down Steinhill ultra crystal...
It's the best, it's thick but not to thick, feels like glass, smooth as can be.. They are just the best I tried all other protectors nothing comes close.... I don't buy any other for my phones..
I bought a bunch from DealExtreme. They are extremely cheap and high quality. Since most people in manufacturing in China nowadays, possibly the ones I got are the exact same ones sold by brand names for 100x more.

Steinheill Ultra Crystal for me ,
feels like there is nothing over your screen
A silky-smooth fabric pouch.
So I have an Otterbox case and I already took the original Otterbox screen protector out and replaced it. I replaced it with the Spigen Curved Crystal protector but it's already starting to come off since it didn't really completely cover the whole screen. So now I need to get a new one. Any ideas? Which ones do you guys think are the best?
i have the Armorsuit screen protector on mine, and i like it a lot.
it stays put just fine, even with a Incipio case on as well
I have a privacy protecter on mine with the otterbox defender series

I ordered a Skinomi screen protector from Amazon about 2 months ago. This is the worst piece of crap I've used. I read decent reviews prior to my purchase and nobody mentioned that it is extremely soft. I probably have 20 or so fingernail indentations on the protector which is totally weak. I'm interested in hearing what others think are the best since I will be in the market for a more durable screen protector that covers the entire screen.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I'm using liquid armor for more then 3 months. For now it works good. I only got 1 small, almost invisible scratch, but that was after keeping knife, screwdrivers and a lot of other sharp objects in my pocket with phone. And it was after almost 3 months since last coating.
If you don't like that then I recommend buying invisibleshield extreme. My friend has that and it works great for him. I'm thinking about buying it myself.

I got my gnex for a quite time now and finally it got scratch. It's not big one, but it annoys me. Now I'm in for a screen protector. Since I dont knowanything about them, can you recommend me some good ones that has good features like sun light reflect, no fingerprints, unoticable, etc. (I dunno, those kind of stuff). and if possible link on ebay
cheers

I'm going to purchase this because you said it's a good one! Well no but seriously, I'm going to look around some more so if anyone knows any protectors that can back it up I'll take a look. But as it stands, I'll probably be buying this one
I bought an awesome pack of three on Amazon when I first got my GNex, let me see if I can find them in my purchase history.
They're anti-glare, and you can't see your fingerprints because they have a matte finish.

My bad. I confused the names of the screen protector and cover. My screen protector is the Steinheil Ultra Crystal. Its not cheap, but I can't tell the difference between it and glass.

I would recommend all screen protectors by SGP
They're way more expensive, but in my opinion it's worth (Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic , would be a good choice)
Also for more protection than just a piece of plastic, i use the fantom glass screen protector which is also pretty nice.

+1 for this. I have used several other screen protectors (ZAGG, Spigen, Clarivue and a couple of others), and this one, while not the easiest to get on, works great. Great feel and I like the way the screen looks when it is on. Because it is a matte protector, it is not invisible, but no real orange peel and it is not sticky at all - great finger feel on the screen! And cheap as well!
I hated any screen protector that I put on my Galaxy Nexus, after buying it I put on an Xtremeguard wet apply full body, after 4 months, I took it of.
Screen protectors suck and reduce the usability on the phones at times, some of them are pretty sticky or not as slippery and smooth as the glass.
PIE from AOSPA has never been so easily, I still use a case, but I bought my phone to actually use it, and I've been affecting my usability by babying it. It'll be so worth it unless you're really that paranoid about a scratch here and there.
No screen protector doesn't work for me. I work in a machine shop and metal chips find their way in my pockets daily. I prefer the non anti-glare 3 pack from Walmart or target. I forget the brand but they're cheap enough and don't interfere with usability.
