Can someone explain or tell me how to get rid of the storage usage in media? I transferred all pics, vids, music to sd card already.

Ok got most of the space back. Space was taken up by app dumpster (deleted items kept in storage) duh lol but the media storage remained the same even after deleting the pics from the app.

What are you using your 6gb of internal storage for? Very little used so far, not using it for video or photos at all. So what are most people using it for?

I don't actually, I leave it alone. I have a 16GB SD card for everything I need.
Pretty much not using it at the moment. Hoping that 2.3 will change that though.
i use it for my camera to save to. thats it.
I use it for all my music. Which is about 4Gb. I have one or two videos on it as well.

I have a few things that I use the internal storage for:
Apps.
Image Icons for Desktop Visualizer and LauncherPro.
Movies.
Everything else goes on the 16GB SD card.
Mine is mostly filled with MP3s.
Okay MOST of my music plays fine as a matter of fact all of them were working fine before I erased my library then recopied . It plays a sec of the song freezes then goes to the next I have tried copying my music twice with the same outcome. It would not bother me but it's KILLING my battery! Media is way higher then normal when playing music cause of those corrupt mp3s. Music is fine on my PC. I'm using a class 10 sandisk 16gb microsd card. Please help.

Try wiping cache and data for Media Storage in app management. Then reboot and give it a few min to rescan the entire phone.

Doesn't that just recreate the library?

Pretty much, but if you deleted all your mp3s, then copied them back, media storage will still be using its old info which can cause issues. I don't know why yet but the media storage/server just doesn't seem stable to me. I've seen it get messed up and hang, destroying battery life, seemingly just because media files were in multiple locations.
In the end, I recommended it because its quick and easy. If it doesn't work you're only out a few min time. And then I will suggest more inconvenient things to try. Such as make a backup and factory reset. Im doubting the actual mp3 files are corrupt. Its the way that thhe system handles them that's screwy.

Hey anyone reading this I use my phone as my MP3 player aswell, and I use doubletwist to sync my music. I have a 32 GB MicroSD card, and i cant figure out how to sync my music the SD card rather than internal storage, any help? Thanks!

try foldersync. great app. also google music is pretty cool.
I do find Google music pretty cool, but I just listen to music for a huge chunk of my day and that active internet connection really kills my battery, also, if I'm not on wifi, or don't have full bars 4g, it seeks to be slow loading songs. Am I doing something wrong?

nah, your right. You can cache music locally. So in google music app you can select songs or albums and select 'keep on device' where it will keep them local and accessible without a inet connection. The thing is then you need to go in and do that for all the stuff you want to listen to which can be a pain if you mostly listen to things offline.
I do use foldersync too which syncs any folders I have defined whenever I connect to my home wifi automagically. I don't need to 'sync' or plug anything in. It just runs and works. That may be better for you. You can specify all kinds of sources to use (ftp, dropbox, drive, windows networking drives, samba, etc).
Wow thanks! Could I do this another way? My main desktop I use I have all my music on, and it can't connect to WiFi, would I just have to plug my phone into my desktop? I apologize I'm a total noob at this haha.

When I upgraded from my Note 2 to the Note 4 we used Samsung Smart Switch Mobile. Worked just fine.

SuperBeam. Buy the pro edition, it's worth it. Can beam entire folders with it.

I used Kies. One click backup. One click restore.
Wont restore apps to a warranty device though.
