Thanks!

nevermind the above.
I reset the watch (15 secs button press) reinstalled all smartwatch software and it works perfectly

if the sony smartwatch is anything like my motorola motoactv, then the answer button only pops up if you have headphones connected to the watch itself. if no headphones detected, it will default to decline.

It works, but not flawlessly. There's an issue with the OS that can activate talk-back (or parts thereof). It only comes into play if you install some of the third-party notification apps, like Watch It (really good). It can be fixed permanently (in a non-ideal why) or temporarily fixed (less convenient but does not require disabling Engines). You'll know when you've got this issue, because your phone will unexpectedly say to you "the folder is opening..." when you open a folder. It's a minor irritation, but it gets on your nerves very quickly.
The watch itself works very well with my Note 2. Never dropped connection so far, seems to reliably get notifications (I have actually started to turn some off - as I get more than I thought I did!).
I like how it works with my phone. I see the Smartwatch as an evolutionary step to a decent version, which hopefully Sammy or Google will release. And at $100, you can't really go wrong.
Quite a few apps, and one or two of the paid ones are worth it, but mostly the free ones will do you just fine.

Actually i just wanted to know that the apps for smartwatch are perfectly working with Note 2 or not, as i tried the call handler app in smartwatch with note 2, then i find that there is no accept button on smartwatch to accept the call only decline button is there and also find the issue with the music app. So the issue is just with mine or every one facing the same . If you are facing the same issue then is there any way to get rid of this.
Please please please reply.

The SmartWatch is not fully compatible with the Note 2 for the phone answering App. It only works fully with Sony phones. There is no accept-call option in anything other than Sony phones.
Regards.
Considering you probably will want to take the phone out of your pocket before answering it, I don't see that as a real issue. "watch it" (and other programs that use accessibility settings) clashes with some other settings on the phone causing unexpected voice feedback and disabling the continuous input on the stock keyboard.. Other than that its fine..

Can we control our music player functions like play/pause,next,previous,forward-rewind also how is the battery backup with continuous use. I am also thinking of buying this product. Also does it have a earphone audio out port?

Yes you can control music: start/stop, last/next, volume up/down.
No, there is no earphone port (use bluetooth headphones - who needs cables?)
I have found the watch controls music flawlessly, albeit not very conveniently in all honesty. Personally, I use the watch more to screen incoming messages and notifications. I don't try to do anything too fancy as it's easier to just use the phone.
On the subject of incompatibility with the TTS engines, there's no doubt this is an inconvenience, but not a great one. What happens is that the Note II (and I think other Android phones) starts talking to you when you don't want it to. For me, the biggy was it speaking out aloud "the folder is open..." (or "...closed") whenever I opened/closed a folder containing Apps. To say the least, it's distracting. If you disable the TTS engines (as I have done, undone, redone etc.) to fix the "folder is open..." issue (which fixes it for me, anyway) then you lose "DRIVING MODE" capability (which I rarely use) at least, and probably other speech apps too. The good news is that Navigation still works fine, even with the Samsung and Google TTS engines disabled. This is clearly not ideal, but only Google can fix it at the OS level, and they seem to be in no hurry at all.
I still think the Sony watch is a good product, as it allows me to receive and screen emails, RSS, tweets and to read them discreetly. It's much less distracting (and much less obvious, e.g. at meetings) than trying to read a phone.
I do still hope Samsung looks at this market though, as they will clean Sony's clock if they ever launch a similar product.

Heh. No it's very common. I know of two fixes: one is TEMPORARY, but does not require you to disable any apps; the other seems to PERMANENTLY fix the problem, but it results in disabling TTS apps. You have to figure out which of these two evils is the lessor:
Temp fix - go to setting-> applications and find the two TTS Aps (Google and Samsung). Clear the cache on both. It temporarily fixes the problem (on my Note II anyway). Bad news: it comes back, seems to be random. I have never figured out why, and now I don;t even try...
Permanent fix (the one I have today). Go to settings->apps and DISABLE said google and Samsung TTS engines. Problem goes away, but you may lose some important functionality (I haven't - Driving Mode is killed, but I don;t use it anyway). You can always re-enable these apps, by going to settings->apps, scrolling all the way to the bottom and re-enabling them. I have tried re-enabling, but this little bug comes right back after a random delay, so now, I just accept it.
Regards,
Andrew
PS - don't blame Samsung, blame google. This is their problem.
PPS - all SonyWatch notification apps seem to trigger this - on my Note II anyway. I tried 'em all.
Had to resurrect this thread, are you guys talking about the smart watch 2 or 1? I am thinking of buying smart watch 2 atm.
Hey guys,
So Ive recently aquired and about to return if its defective, my smartwatch 3. I was certain it can do a standalone GPS, but now im wondering if it cant due to software limitations that hopefuly be patched, or is it actually just a lemon?
Ive installed Wear GPS and it finds 0/0 sattelites, even when the phone GPS is on and nearby the watch, in which case all running apps has GPS on the watch too, as long as the phone's in range..
In the Watch Settings I turned on GPS. makes no difference if its off or on actually, still works if the phone's nearby.
any suggestions?
GPS is working, try Ghostracer or Endomondo. They both work well but Ghostracer is loaded with features.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Just clarifying the GPS should function even when disconnected from the phone, correct? Thanks. Prone.
Yes it works. connected or disconnected from the phone.
but the GPS function itself is still buggy,
more information about the gps issue - find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/help/erratic-gps-t3088179
Erratic is better than statically dead. Flat line 0 GPS signal as soon as phone is disconnected.. RMA or wait for patch? If I understand than even if I get replacement the GPS function is useless at this stage...? Thanks, Prone
RMA.
because the feature itself works normally. (erratic not dead)
I'll take you guys word's for it then.. Cause sony is either totally lying or totally stupid:
Thank you for contacting Sony Xperia Support.
We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the GPS location services on your SmartWatch 3.
With regards to your inquiry, when your SmartWatch 3 is disconnected from your phone or tablet, you can still use some basic features. Since voice commands no longer work after disconnection, you must tap the screen to navigate your SmartWatch 3 and confirm actions.
In standalone mode, you can still do the following:
•View the time and date.
•Set an alarm.
•Use the stopwatch.
•Use the timer.
•View your agenda for the current day.
•Listen to music saved on your SmartWatch 3 with a connected Bluetooth® headset.
•Keep a record of your outdoor activities.
•View your step count.
•Change the watch face.
•Turn Airplane mode on or off.
Note! Some of the features described above require the download and installation of the relevant applications, for example, a music player app or a fitness training app.
Therefore, unfortunately you cannot use the GPS function when your SmartWatch 3 is disconnected from your phone.
If you are experiencing issues with GPS location, check if the location is turned on on your SmartWatch 3.
To turn on location on SmartWatch 3:
1.Tap the home screen, then swipe upwards.
2.Find and tap Settings > Location.
3.If the location is set to Off, press Location. Then press the green circle with “check” mark to enable Location.
Tips to improve the GPS signal when using SmartWatch 3:
•Remove the main unit from the wrist band and clean away any moisture that has built up around the unit or the wrist band to improve the GPS signal.
•Wear your SmartWatch 3 on the outside of your wrist so that your SmartWatch 3 has the best line of sight with GPS satellites.
•Make sure you have a clear and unobstructed view of the sky. For example, while wearing your SmartWatch 3, make sure that your view is not blocked by trees or tall buildings.
•Before you start to move around, stand still to allow your SmartWatch 3 to pick up a signal from the relevant GPS satellites.
Furthermore, due to the fact that Sony SmartWatch 3 was not officially released on the Israeli market, our official service center in Israel unfortunately cannot provide you with service of the device. We suggest you to contact the original seller for more information.
Should you require any further assistance please contact us again via email at [email protected]. For more information on our products, services and support please visit www.sonymobile.com.
Please be aware that if you do not respond within 7 days of this email your query will be automatically closed. Any further communications will not reach our support and a new query will need to be raised.

Whos bull****ting here? Either way im gunna bother and have no SW3 for a while till it gets RMA'd I suppose.. i actually hoped this is a patch thing.
Sony is totally stupid. I use GhostRacer every day standalone, no problems (and the GPS honestly tracks just fine). Its true that there aren't any real stock apps that use it, but it works offline all the same..
Hi
I have exactly the same problem
Here we are, over a year later, and I'm still having this same problem. Has anyone figured anything out with this? I bought my SW3 refurbished, and didn't realize there was a problem with it until the 30 limited warranty expired. I don't really know what I can do at this point. It's really frustrating, as it seems like too many people have this issue for it to just be a fluke.
I have a Zenwatch for some time now, and so far was a reliable companion for my Huawei Ascend P6 with features I come to love, especially the “unlock my phone”.
I never experience connection problems. Sometimes I did not get notifications from the phone (like from Hangouts), but a restart of the watch/phone solved it.
Unfortunately after the last updates (watch system build LDZ21T, Android Wear V 1.1.1.1956917 and ZenWatch manager V 1.6.0.150605) the “unlock my phone” feature is not working properly. More that 2 out of 3 times the phone is locked which becomes a very annoying issue. If I unlock the phone in both Android Wear and ZenWatch manager the message is that ZenWatch is connected, only sporadically disconnected. If I turn on the “forgot phone warning” in the ZenWatch manager I see that the connection is not stable anymore.
I did reset the watch to the factory settings and waited until it synchronized again the aps with the phone, but the problem persists.
Any advice? I would gladly roll back to the previous versions if possible. Now I just have a very frustrating experience.

same experience here
I'm seeing the same issue as well with my Galaxy S5.
Hi,
I upgraded to Android 7.1.1 on my xperia z5 and since then there has been Bluetooth issues with my watch. Generally the Bluetooth wont work on my watch however I have managed to find my watch using my phone using the Sony Smart Connect App. So I have got my watch in a basic mode in that its sort of connected to my phone but I only get to tell the time and use the step counter.
I am on:-
Android Wear - 1.5.0.3508863
Android OS - 6.0.1
Build Number - M1D64T
I have tried doing a reset, hard reset, going into the phones settings and even sent this off to sony where they said the Bluetooth was not working, yet when I got the watch back I managed to sort of sync this back up to my phone.
Just asking for advice, as I have had the watch from Brand New and its lasted 14 months and the Bluetooth has broke, I think its more a software issue than a hardware one to be honest.
Thanks
Hello i think have the same issue. I reset, install custom roms... but the SW3 don't pair with my phone (OPO2). I try to pair with other phones, tablets, but now the bluetooh is dead
Some advice?
My watch no longer shows up on any device. I've been trying to fix this issue but I can solve it.
Is Android Auto working for anyone? No matter if I connect it to my car or use wireless AA, it starts and disconnects right away and just keeps doing that over and over. I haven't been able to get it to work with anything I found online with past Samsung phones that had connection issues. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Same issue here with my 2019 volvo xc60. Car briefly shows it's going to connect then says "reconnect device". Phone will display the initial setup screen but when you hit next it flickers something and vanishes. Using cable.
All updates installed...
Working just fine in my iX3 wireless. Not tried wired, but then never do. I am running 8.x.x beta though, might be worth trying that
Found The beta and sideloaded the update. No luck, same problem.
This really sucks.
Broken here too. I'm using a JVC head unit in my truck. Works great with my S22 Ultra, Z Fold3 and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
I've tried everything under the sun. No luck. Even reset network connections in case it was a corruption from migration.
Same here, 2021 Tacoma. Fold 2 worked just fine, now nothing.
AA desperately needs an update in general.
iOS carplay is so much better.
BUT! Not working at all is very, very bad.
Early users also reporting July security patch too so perhaps an update is in order. They usually smooth out new devices (aka shakedown) after a few months so fingers crossed.
Just rec'd my G4F today, and also nada for me in my 2015 Mazda 3.
G3F works like a charm. This sucks.
How the fck could Samsung deliver a phone that has broken aa? WTF
Also broken on both my kenwood radios. fold 2 still working like a champ
No issue in france with my peugeot 208
Kia Sportage no issues....
No issue on e208
It's like the AA crashes before it finishes authorizing the permissions for the vehicle. I may try getting everything set up to pull ADB logs this afternoon and see if there's any clues there.
Solved it!
I went into apps, Android Auto, cleared cache + data (again) then I went to the battery option for Android Auto and set it to "Unrestricted". I'd already gone under the central battery options and set it to never sleep for Android Auto previously but that alone didn't do it.
Paired perfectly on next connection. After that I just paired it with my wireless AA dongle and everything is fine with the world again.
AA working fine with my GF4 + 2022 BMW M3.

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that it worked for me. I was having the same issue. I have a 2020 Hyundai Palisade with the new Fold 4.. Thanks for posting the solution!!!!
Dave
I can confirm that resetting caches and data for Play Services a Play Store did the trick. Also AAWireless is working now.
I was going to reply and tell you all that if you have uploaded apps from the old phone you had to the new Z Fold 4 , there will be some apps that will require a clean start and date and cache probably will require it, especially AA. Getting my phone today (FedEx say it is on the truck to be delivered) and here is my part I am re-thinking the wireless AA.. I drive an Audi A6 with an after market module for Car Play and AA.. That worked fine with my S20+ so far. The screen in the car is not a touch screen , 8.5" lower resolution than the fold 4. I got the new car Qi mount for the fold 4 installed last night and it looks , even with the S20+ much more crisp and clean, not to mention a touch screen. I bet when the Z Fold 4 arrives today and I will have it placed in the mount open, the 950NIT , hi-res , will make my car screen look bad even more.. I truly think of removing AA from my phone, not connecting to the car although I can, connect only Bluetooth to have Spotify/phone use the speakers, and turn off the car's screen.. For less than $50 good car mount, WHY would I need AA? Controlling from the steering wheel ? Meh, I use Google Voice anyways.. Your thoughts, as Z Fold 4 7.6" hi res screen owners? I'll share my comparison between the two options after 2-3 days of driving around with an open phone, vs. Car screen..
