I am trying to load fresh 4.5.0.1 and I am coming from CM 6.1.1 and also gingerbread test roms.
I have Calkulin's format all zip, and use it to wipe the entire device before moving from rom to rom.
My recovery is the latest amon ra.
Everytime I load a fresh.... fresh rom, it loads perfect, except that when it finally loads to where the phone is usable, all these old apps I used to use are loaded (many of them paid apps). They are old versions, so these apps aren't coming from the android market automatically.
I have all of these apps backed up on my sdcard, under an "apps" folder. I thought maybe it was loading them from this and have tried renaming it, and also totally removing it. These apps still installed automatically.
So my question is.... where on earth are they coming from? I just loaded CM7.0 gingerbread nightly build and these apps don't install. I loaded fresh 5-6 times today and these apps show up every time.
Any ideas? I have a pretty firm grasp on android and my EVO, but this is just baffling me. I bet it is something really simple too...
Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me also add that I have tried using calkulin's format all.zip, and the wipe system data, cache, and dalvik together to make absolutely sure the device is being wiped.
I do not use apps2sd, or have any apps installed to my sdcard.
I think it has to do with you setting up your gmail account when you first power on the phone after flashing. Try resetting it and skip the email setup part. When you click on market it should prompt you to log in.
I'll also add that when you set up your gmail in the beginning there is an option for backup apps and data (something along those lines). I always check the box and I think that's what you did.

This was the only thing I could think of as well. However, I can't seem to find that option for google to backup your apps. It used to be during the setup, which it isn't, and it also was under privacy in settings, which I can't find either.
I am seeing all these apps before I sync my google account.
Maybe I am just going crazy...
I thought of another tidbit to add...
I have flashed a stock rooted rom, and the apps do not install, even after syncing with my google account. Fresh 4.5.0.1 is the only rom this happens on.
This says solved... what was the solution?
When I ran the start up wizard, it asked if I wanted Google to back up my settings and I said no. Why does it still try and install loads of apps I used to use?
Was the solution not to sign in to your Google account during the wizard?
Hey guys,
I never had issues with flashing before and was using Leedroid 3.0.2 since today.
I decided to try out the new Reflex.S ROM Vers. 2.0.1. cuz it has the new Sense interface and I'm really fascinated by it.
In short: I flashed it and the recommended radio afterwards. The system booted successfull and seemed to be running stable.
Now like everybody of you surely expected, I did a recover via Titanium Backup afterwards. As soon as the recover has been finished i was getting force closes of android.acore and other modules.
I reflashed 3 times and tried to find out what might be the reason for the occuring errors. I was able to make out at least that it had to do with the import of my old contact settings (I recovered the data of contacts exclusively).
I'm sure that other modules might force the same error, but the most important one for me is the one of my contacts, as u might guess.
Does anybody of u have an idea what I might do to get all of my contacts into the Reflex.S ROM?
And please dont tell me, i got to reflash to leedroid and write down all numbers by hand
I'd really appreciate any help!
Save your contacts to your Google Account and sync with Google. It should backup your contacts (you can check when you log onto Gmail but in the browser). That's what I have done so when I change rom, I just sync my contacts back an voila.
Thx for the first advice.
Afaik I'm not able to sync my contacts to my google account after they've been created as "contacts saved on the phone". I would have to add every single of them again and then change the save-destination.
Am I right? Or maybe wrong?
Yes, you would have to add them all in again as a Google contact. Yes it is a pain but once it's done it's done. You could try to export your contacts then import them back.
Does anybody have another idea how to get my adjustments of sense, including my contacts, from a titanium backup of leedroid 3.0.2 Rom into the Rom of Reflex.S without any errors?
AT&T Galaxy S3, 4.1.1 JB stock.
I rooted last night, using Odin and started with Titanium back up. I thought I had everything saved to my external SD. I followed a youtube video on installing the Liquidsmooth ROM, and everything seemed to go well. When the phone reboots, there were just a few icons about loading back ups and a few dock icons. When I went to restore my back ups, there was nothing there. I thought I did something wrong, so I tried to go back to the stock rooted rom (root66) and got stuck in a bootloop for like 2 hours. Finally got it back up & running with all the factory settings and now I can't access anything on the phone. Titanium still says there are no back ups, I can't get Kies to transfer anything(I thought contact numbers saved here?), nothing is syncing from Google and I can't even get my phone numbers to sync with Facebook contacts. It says I have read-only access and it won't let me delete contacts that I don't have numbers for, only hide them. Can someone help me figure out how to restore my contacts? That's number one right now. If I have lost my apps, I can always redownload those, but the contacts are way more imortant. I'm still searching and reading, but hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks guys!

In the process, did you wipe your internal/external SD?
Also, did you sync your contact with Google? That way, after a factory reset, you can connect with Google and it will put them back on your phone.

I might have wiped the factory one on accident, but the external sd still has my pics & music folders. The titanium back up folder on the external however is empty.
When the phone restarted after the bootloop fix, I had to add my gmail info again, and it never prompted to restore contacts. That's what prompted me to search for them , see I don't have admin access and see that I couldn't merge a contact I was text messaging with his facebook info because I have read-only access.
Hi, I'd been searching for similar thread but none can answer me. I stay at a place where there is no telco so I rely on 100% internet connection. I'd been flashed my phone for numerous time and faced no problem before with Whatsapp. But today, Whatsapp seems to ask for verification which it never ask for how many times I flashed and restore. And no telco means no SMS or call verification. Backup and restoration are done by Titanium Backup. No nandroid backup because I never face any issue with TB before. So, to make simple:
1) On Wanamlite 3.5 for all the time. Been try few other ROM before but NEVER face any verification problem before.
2) Flash to ProBAM ROM. The whole Whatsapp folder copied to external SD. Start with megawipe script (NEVER have problem before) and proceed with ProBAM installation, with the recommended steps.
3) Phone works fine. Apps restored by TB. Able to use Whatsapp without verification. No folder copied. Just restore, reboot and Whatsapp work fine.
4) This morning, I play around with ProBAM UI and end up messed up with it, UI stuck with tablet interface. Restoring doesn't help so decided to re-flash ProBAM. Do note that Whatsapp didn't ask for verification before.
5) After flashing with the same steps as above, BAM! Whatsapp ask for verification. Workaround tried, uninstall and reinstall, wipe cache+ data, uninstall and install and restore, copy old Whatsapp folder to new dir, uninstall clean with clean master reboot and reinstall, flash to Wanamlite again but still ask for verification, all fail.
6) Been email Whatsapp support but not really helpful.
My question is how can this happen? Do note, last night I flashed and restore with the same method and I didn't face any issue. But why this morning things didn't work like it always do.
P/s: The soonest and nearest I can go to a place that have telco would be 3 weeks from now but no internet.
Thank you very much.

well for me it just ask for verification of number in whatsapp+ and it get me directly to restoring backup page instead of verifying it actually
Hey..... I figured it out. All you have to do is back up all your original data in the What'sapp File in your internal memory. Inside the file should be folders:
Backups, Databases, media, PLUS,Profile Pictures.
Make sure it's there when you overwrite what'sapp+ and you won't have the delete clean master and all that non sense pop up in the beginning.

Hi bro ,,
I have same issue and I try a lot of things! If you were solve this issue , please till me how!
hello,
i also have this problem. i have a backup of all whatsapp files.. sdcard/whatsapp and /data/data/com.whatsapp . . everything.
but still...
i've flashed a new rom onto my device and since then it's askin for verification. whatsapp seems to check rom serial or so
and seems to save it somewhere onto the phone, after verifying the phone.
my problem is, my cellphone number is old. i can't receive nor get called anymore. it always worked with the 4.3 version,
prolly because i've verified the rom+phone back then when the number still was working.
now with a new rom some verification data seems to have gotten lost.
i also have a titanium backup of whatsapp from a year ago .. restored that aswell, and still it asked for verification.
anyone else had issues like these or does anyone know the verification works? whatsapp must be saving some info somewhere.
i've also looked through the xml files in /data/data/whatsapp/shared_prefs
this folder from the old backup, it had a verification file .. dont know why .. but it didnt work anyway ..
so, maybe someone can look into whatsapp file / verification handling?! ?! ..
<boolean name="com.whatsapp.RegisterPhone.no_self_send" value="false" />
<int name="com.whatsapp.RegisterPhone.verification_state" value="7" />
<int name="com.whatsapp.RegisterPhone.phone_number_position" value="12" />

this looks like some registration serial to me ..
HI, i have installed and rstored whatsapp a million times or so, when flashing and switching between roms. last night i tried something funny, and it cost me tooo much.
I tried to install whatsapp for another number(my phone is dual sim), while sms verification was happening, it got registered via my previously registered whatsapp no. Now even after i deleted the new no. account,i am still not able to get my old account back. when i give my old number, it doesn ask for sms verification, and goes to local backup directly, but fails there and throws error. on the other hand, i can verify the account, but cannot restore all my messages.
Please help, as my msgs are quite important..!
Hi,
After a factory reset to Lollipop 5.0.2, I don't seem to have the Contacts or Phone app anymore. How can I solve this?
The background story is as follows:
I recently resat my Z1 Compact and installed Lollipop 5.0.2. Earlier I had a CyanogenMod version, but it had some annoying bugs, so I decided to go back to stock Android.
I used Titanium Backup to backup apps and user data from CM. When I tried to restore these apps and userdata in Lollipop, I got error messages all the time, saying "android.process.acore", "android.process.phone", "Phone", "Top Contacts" and "Contacts" had stopped working. Trying to get rid of these error messages, I cleared the data and uninstalled some apps related to Phone and Contacts, but the error messages kept coming.
I therefore did a factory reset again. I discovered that I did not have any contacts synced on my phone, so I tried to sync them.
It turned out I couldn't find neither the Contacts app or Phone app on my phone. It is therefore impossible to enter the settings in the Contacts app to make the phone sync contacts.
I have tried searching, but I haven't found a solution.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may have to reflash. Did you check /system/app? Are they there? If. So, you could try clicking on base.apk, and see if they reinstall, or try to get a stock apk from another user. I'm currently not on stock ROM, so I can't. I came across this thread recently, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/themes-apps/xperia-z3-apks-t3059426 - it's for Z3, but they might work, or maybe there's a similar thread for z1c, (I haven't seen it). Hope that helps.
Thanks for your answer.
The only relevant apps I could find in /system/app, was ContractsSIM. I'll try to find a thread with stock apps for z1c like you suggested, if not, I'll try the app from z3. If that doesn't work either, I guess I'll have to reflash again.

1. if you switch from a custom ROM back to stock always make a clean install (full wipe)
2. NEVER restore apps with Titanium Backup from CM to stock - lots of problems
Full Wipe - flash stock ROM - install all apkĀ“s new - finish
Ok, great, I'll try that. ?
By the way, I haven't been able to reboot into recovery mode. It's like that possibility doesn't exist after I flash to stock Lollipop 5.0.2. That means I haven't been able to try to install Xposed (which I don't know if would work at all, though...). Any idea why that is, and how I could fix that?

If you flashed stock ROM via Flashtool, you no longer have root or recovery, etc., unless it was a pre-rooted ftf. You'll have to reroot, and flash recovery.
Edit- don't know if you figured it out yet or not, but. I came across this today - http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...-collection-stock-files-sony-devices-t3142349
