Recovery: 5.0.2.8
still installation problem.
does is really matters to keep S-ON while installing cm10?

Keep s-on? You just need an unlocked bootloader or s-off. Did you try the zip you downloaded for errors? Your phone is gsm/marvel so make sure the zip you downloaded is for marvel nor marvelc.
Also when you download a zip to pc. It's better to check the zip for any download related problems. Just open it with winrar and hit test.

Press <POWER> to reboot.
I really wanna root the phone, help please!
Your bootloader is unlocked. Go to the dev section and download the wildfire s manager. it can root your phone. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431969&highlight=wildfire+s+manager)
according to your post you tried to flash something via hboot.
Unless you are S-OFF hboot will refuse any flash that is not htc signed.
Will try, thanks for quick reply

Errors
I get error: device not found when it flashes stock recovery, superuser, busybox and mounting partitions >_>
Please enable USB Debugging in Settings->Application->Development->Check USB Debugging.
And in the Wildfire S Manager install Custom Recovery (ClockworkMod) and root.
Stock recovery is not needed.
Ahhhh sh*t. Didn't realise the debugger thing went off after I installed the RUU. Thanks for reply, will try now

Still same error. Dang..... anyway to do it with the CWM-based recovery 5.0.2.6 open? seems it only installs that >_>
have you restarted adb server after enabling USB debugging?
type
adb kill-server and try again
How would I do this, step by step for this been. What to open, what to do etc
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
okay, first log off and in again to your pc. (will kill all adb processes that may block others)
Plug the phone in, be sure USB debugging is enabled and chose charging mode
open the wildfire S manager
chose the options you want.
then it should work.
it worked for me like this.
Unfortunately it didnt work D: . However I went to the rooting HTC wildfire S thread, and by a fluke just decided to download root.zip and install it to see if it would do anything, and it worked! lol. Thanks for the help dude! Many non-homo loves to you!!
i m getting error ROM 190
with ruu
via htcdev.
any solution?
Yeh, I got same error

[Q] Anyone developing for recent VM CDMA Wildfire S software?

I recently picked up a Virgin Mobile Wildfire S that has software version 3.01.652.1 710RD. Was able to unlock it through HTCdev and send ClockworkMod recovery 5.0.2.8-marvelc to it through fastboot successfully. However, now when I boot into HBOOT and go to recovery, I get a white screen with green HTC logo that hangs there. Looking around at other sites, it seems like this updated software 3.01.652.1 710RD seems to have closed a loophole that allowed the recovery to start. HBOOT screen:

Anyone have insight into this? Or more importantly, is there anything I can do to help someone who knows what they are doing to update things for this software?
Try a different recovery. The official one has always had problems. Try alquez's unofficial or the 6.x versions the work better.

No prob. Glad I could help. Try Goo.manager from market it has rom's that are compatible with marvelc.

[Q] Help! HTC Buzz: Wildfire -Revoulutionary- HBoot 6.01.1002

Hi,
I am a new to XDA Developers and I only registered because I have a problem with my HTC Wildfire (Buzz). I need to downgrade my hBoot so I can unlock the bootloader. I didn't know about the bootloader having to be unlocked so I used Revolutionary. I had hboot 1.01.1001 at the time and it was a successfull root. I tried to boot to Clockworkmod Recovery to install Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 when a HTC phone picture came up with a red triangle with a '!' inside it. The specs of the phone are as follows:
Android OS: 2.1 (Eclair) (I downgraded from 2.2.1 recently)
hBoot:

Why do you need to use HTCDev?? By doing that you void any chance of your warranty.
You need to flash a recovery.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Assuming recovery is named recovery.img and it is placed in your fastboot folder.

I tried using ROM manager but as I said the picture comes up. What fastboot folder and recovery.img?

You need a fastboot folder and need to install the HBOOT drivers. See the first few steps of my rooting guide.

I got it now. I had to use the fastboot flash command with an older recovery image. I am now using Cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Thanks guys
