I really wanna root the phone, help please!
Your bootloader is unlocked. Go to the dev section and download the wildfire s manager. it can root your phone. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431969&highlight=wildfire+s+manager)
according to your post you tried to flash something via hboot.
Unless you are S-OFF hboot will refuse any flash that is not htc signed.
Will try, thanks for quick reply

Errors
I get error: device not found when it flashes stock recovery, superuser, busybox and mounting partitions >_>
Please enable USB Debugging in Settings->Application->Development->Check USB Debugging.
And in the Wildfire S Manager install Custom Recovery (ClockworkMod) and root.
Stock recovery is not needed.
Ahhhh sh*t. Didn't realise the debugger thing went off after I installed the RUU. Thanks for reply, will try now
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
Still same error. Dang..... anyway to do it with the CWM-based recovery 5.0.2.6 open? seems it only installs that >_>
have you restarted adb server after enabling USB debugging?
type
adb kill-server and try again
How would I do this, step by step for this been. What to open, what to do etc
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
okay, first log off and in again to your pc. (will kill all adb processes that may block others)
Plug the phone in, be sure USB debugging is enabled and chose charging mode
open the wildfire S manager
chose the options you want.
then it should work.
it worked for me like this.
Unfortunately it didnt work D: . However I went to the rooting HTC wildfire S thread, and by a fluke just decided to download root.zip and install it to see if it would do anything, and it worked! lol. Thanks for the help dude! Many non-homo loves to you!!
i m getting error ROM 190

any solution?

Soooo. I've had my HTC desire (gsm) for about a year. I rooted it. Put new roms on it. Flashed it hundreds of times. But I got bored. So I thought is go back to stock HTC 2.3 sense.
Wrong.....
Now no matter what I try I can re-root it.
I've tried alpharevx.
I've tried apps.
I've tried fastboot.
I've tried hboot.
And a few other I can't even remember.
Sooooo. My question is this. How do I root a phone that doesn't want to be rooted and only wants to run stock 2.3
Any help greatly received.

Hmm revolutionary should work, as far as i know its the only 1 that can s-off hboot 1.02.0001
How r u using revolutionary? is ur phone booted up and usb bugging enabled? dont mean to offend u with those silly questions lol its just strange it dont work. Now saying that, maybe revolutionary does'nt work on all devices, i dont know. im only guessing. also i know that theres a few other programs that r supposed to do the job like SuperOneClick and there mite be one or 2 others but i really cant tell u if they work or not or if they cause problems, i really dont know.
Try unrEVOked_3.20…just 3.20!

Man, keep your advise to yourself... seriously.
via xda app
I did it in the same order as you are trying now. First got stock 2.3 and then wanted root.
I remember it was easy. I just googled for a how to and I don't even think it was on xda, just a random page. I had the same hboot, gsm.
With your hboot ver revolutionary is the only option. Period.
Revolutionary only gives SOFF and allows you to install recovery.
You have to flash the su zip seperately to get root - superuser
One simple thing to try would be to change the computer, install hboot drivers and try revolutionary again.
Hope this helps.

Huh?........., can you explain what you mean? English is not my first language, but I am not dumb. In fact I got scholarship . I tried unrooting via SuperOneClick before and it works, so I'm just helping.
ok.
so ive now tried unrevoked 3.2
still not rooting
hmmm
so heres my plan
1) ruu stock 2.2
2)try as many different root gadgets i can get my hands on
3) if no luck try on mac instead of pc
4)if no luck. im buying an iphone. . . . . .grrrr
Not sure if this has been asked before.....
However, I would like to know if you can flash extra zip files like boot animations over a custom rom. I am running HiApk sense 2.1/3.0 ROM and everytime I try to flash something else it installs it and then when I reboot my phone nothing happens!!!?!!??! Is it possible to do this?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Bootanimations are zip file but u dont flash them. U have to use root explorer or simular and put the bootanimation.zip in "data/local" or "system/media" then set permissions to rw-r--r--
Looks like this
[x][x][_]
[x][_][_]
[x][_][_]
x = checked
Then reboot
Just make sure and check the exact location & permissions of ur original bootanimation then replace it with the new 1

What hboot have u?
Turn off the phone then hold in the volume down button + power and that will take u too bootloader menu and tell us what it says.

Anyway u can use revolutionary to s-off. Very straight forward and easy. U have to setup ur computer to "speak" with ur phone. Install HTC Sync then uninstall Sync only, leaving the HTC Drivers installed then u have to install the fasboot/hboot driver.

Hi,
I am a new to XDA Developers and I only registered because I have a problem with my HTC Wildfire (Buzz). I need to downgrade my hBoot so I can unlock the bootloader. Why do you need to use HTCDev?? By doing that you void any chance of your warranty.
You need to flash a recovery.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Assuming recovery is named recovery.img and it is placed in your fastboot folder.
