Out of nowhere today, the clear notifications button disappeared when I hold my phone in portrait mode. If I rotate into landscape mode, it appears on the far right, but when I flip back, it's not there. I briefly got it to return by switching Lefty Mode on and off, but after I use it once, it disappears again. Any idea why this is happening or how I can fix it?
I'm using LiquidSmooth RC9.
Turns out I don't even have to use the button for it to disappear. If I just rotate my phone to landscape and then back to portrait, it's gone.
I don't have that issue. that being said its only present what I have notifications to clear, not permanent ones
I was able to post about this in the development thread. Turns out it's an issue with having AM/PM turned on for the clock. It pushes the notifications button off the screen sometimes.
hmm good to know, I don't have am/pm enabled, which is obviously the reason.
glad I got it sorted

Hi all,
This is probably on here somewhere but could not find it, so if i duped this issue i am sorry, but all the time when im on a call on my tilt 2, my ear must hit the notification bar and when i go to look at my phone to hang up or whatever, the notification menu thing is showing. I am ok with the notification messages when i have them just not ok with the menu opening by my ear. is there a way to disable this when im on a call or something.
I did see ways to turn of notifications, but will that disable the menu from opening?
Thanks guys,
JC
I also have this problem. Any fixes for it? Im running Stock Sprint 6.5 ROM. It's pretty annoying.

The TP 2 has a proximity sensor that should turn off the screen when it is close to your face. The screen should be blank if you bring it from your ear to look at it. Does this happen?
The screen SHOULD be unresponsive when held to the ear...
I think what happened is the phone was moved to the face too quickly before the proximity sensor can respond. I have tmo tp2 with stock wm6.5 and has the same issue.
I have used the rhodium keyboard customizer and reassigned the long hold back button to lock, so I often lock the phone before I actually put it near my ear.
Sorry for the delayed replay, what button is the long hold?
This may be a known issue, but I've found nothing through searching the forum or Google.
Running GedeROM, and everything works perfectly. Netflix plays well, but won't go full screen. When it first starts, the soft buttons are visible, as always. A few seconds in, the buttons hide, but netflix does not resize to fill the screen, so I have a half inch border around whatever is playing.
This is not a big deal but, with a seven inch screen, I'd like to be able to use as much of the screen as possible.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a known fix or different ROM recommendation?
Thanks in advance!
If your having the problem of netflix only being in portrait mode try toggling the screen rotation back and forth this should allow it to rotate to landscape mode sometimes it gets a little sticky also make sure you have 180 degree rotation enabled.
Thanks, but that's not the problem. Switching from protrait to landscape IS sticky, but does work
Netflix firsts starts filling MOST of the screen, except for the bottom half inch with the Back, Home and Multitask switcher buttons visible. After 3 seconds, these buttons shrink off the screen but the picture doesn't expand to fill the space vacated by the disappearance of the soft buttons.
Works fine on the phone and other devices...
Oh, I should mention that my other devices are running variants of Gingerbread, and in one case Froyo. This may be a function of ICS.
Being that gedeRom has true fullscreen maybe there is a feature that you don't have enabled auto hide or something of that nature maybe someone would know better than I cause I don't run gede have but not presently
Have you tried holding the power button a few seconds and then choosing to hide the status bar?
Do you have auto hide enabled under system in the settings menu?

Thanks, Desanko. Turns out I'm an idiot. Problem solved!
Hey, so i just received the phone and when i use the alert slider the phone only goes in to silent mode. Doesn't matter if i pull the slider up or down always silent, and when i have the slider in the middle or in the bottom option. And when I press a little bit in the top left corner the phone shows the silent toast and vibrates. Seems like a HW fault, but not really sure , any ideas?
Bump
You have me a bit confused. Is the phone silent in all slider positions?
I assume you have gone into the "Alert Slider" settings and configured it?
When you went through the initial on-screen setup process after turning the phone on the first time, did you select to restore from previous device? Or did you set it up as a new device?
In another thread others were reporting similar issues with their slider not working as it should and others even reporting that the do not disturb mode would turn itself on after allowing the phone to restore from previous device. Doing a factory reset and then selecting "setup as new device" seemingly fixed the problem for those other people. I'd suggest giving that a shot.
Yes the phone is in silent in all the slider positions.
And nope i haven't touched any settings, i reseted the phone too and the problem is still remaining .
I set it up as a new device, I read about a "similar" problem, so i reseted the phone to be sure.
As i wrote, i think it is a HW fault, because slightest amount of pressure on the top left side of the phone "activates" the slider so the text/icon "silent" pops up.
Hi. Same issue here. I performed hard reset, set up the phone as new device and the issue keeps appearing. Even the update to 3.2.1 did not help.
Yea, I think it is a HW fault
Hey,
Over the past few weeks I've been having some issues with my alert slider. When I slide it, it keeps my phone on silent mode and switching it will not change its mode. Sometimes restarting my phone will allow it to be loud again but not all the time.
Now my up volume won't work to change the ring volume when the bar at the top of the phone shows I can slide it to the right but then right before your eyes it slides back down again.
I've tried it on YouTube and the volume works as it should up and down with no issues.
I've tried multiple phones wipes, cache clearances and different ROMs and the problem is still there.
Is the problem with the alert slider flex it's self?
Thanks.
Anyone notice it turns the screen off? I think the proximity sensor thinks your face is going against the screen and the display turns off but it's really annoying when your trying to access things from the notifications.
Hello my friend!
I have the same phone as you, and I'm sorry but I'm not having any problems the likes of which you describe.
May I suggest the following?
1. Restart phone in safe mode (now this will vary based on your Carrier: on my unlocked Google issued phone, I press Power and Vol UP at same time; Verizon is Power and Vol down, others may be different: Then on the menu that pops up, press and hold Reset and it'll ask you if you want to restart in safe mode, hit yes, then restart)(SafeMode will display on screen). Then call someone and try to recreate the "black screen, can't pull down notification window". If you can pull it down (as I suspect you will be able) then it's an app problem you've got (not a hardware or system issue)
2. Try going to Settings: Apps: Special App Access (way at the bottom of the screen) and then try finding either Display Over Apps applications or Picture-in-Picture apps or other groups that may interfere with your Phone app. I bet you'll find that there's an app or utility you've installed that is conflicting with your screen.
Let me/us know how it goes!

Yeah, every phone does this if you have your finger over the sensor. Find a better spot to drag down.
