My HTC cid no is J_15.
I purchased it in the middle east. ie. United Arab Emirates.
I just got the notification regarding the update for battery efficiency, ie , v4.0.475679.
I tried restarting my phone and then tried the entire process again but it was of no use.
Can someone please suggest a solution for this? I would be glad to have JB running on my mobile.
Thank You

I am updating through Internet Pass Through as I've got wired LAN connection in my hostel. I'm not using WiFi.
How could I update over my data connection?

It's working now guys, I first got the 1.25MB update through mobile network and then I got the 358 MB update using internet-pass through connection.
I don't know why the initial update couldn't work with internet pass through.
I'm finally glad it's working and now it's restarting.
Thanks for looking through my post people.
Nice !

I just purchased a desire hd and found out that it had the wifi proximity problem.
The software version of the device is 2.37 something and I have received the latest update. I have tried to have the phone check for software updates but it always says the phone has the latest software.
Can someone please help me and tell me how I can get the update or how I can fix the wifi problem ?
2.50 is the latest update, it fixes wifi issues. Preses The menu button > settings > about phone > software updates. Be patient.

I believe that's the current for unbranded devices. For example I have an inspire (us branded dhd) and our most current is 2.47.502.7.
@op I believe 2.37 is probably the current version. For your carrier, so until they release it your stuck well unless you decide to root and debrand.
What kind of wifi issues are you having. I'm not personally familair with that build so it may or may not be a known issue with your build

yes that might be the case then. I have a t-mobiles set and that might be the reason for the delay. The wifi works but its not strong enough. Places where the signal is weak it doesn't even search the wifi or doesn't connect. Even at my home where the signals are strong it doesn't connect everywhere .... The correct build number is 2.37.110.5 ...
Guess I just have to keep waiting ....
An option would be for you to Root your device and flash a custom ROM - that would sort out your Wifi problem pretty quickly!

#2 you can pull down the notification bar, and tap on the carrier name. That will bring up toggles. Or you can just use the ics power widget.

I would like to update today as well. But the OTA messages never appaers, allso not manuelly.
How can I fix this?
I tried some things on the internet (clearing catch and etc) but no solution worked at the moment.

You can just flash the MF1 ROM through Odin. You won't lose anything if I'm not wrong.

Thank you for quick respons!
I would like to try. Do you think I would lose the 624MB RAM?
does someone know what the diffrences are with MC8 and MF1?
I can't find it on the internet...
In the BE, I noticed that the Android 2.3 stock version had better signal with gsm/WCMA and wifi than the 4.1.2 MC8.
So I hope the MF1 solves that problem.

You won't lose 624MB RAM. MF1 seems to be more stable than MC8, generally better.
Settings > Device info > Software update > Update!
Should update your phone via OTA.
If you're gonna use odin tho, I would advise MG2 over MF1, it's newer and more stable.
If you do happen to loose the 624 MB ram, you can use this to get it back --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389395

I have updated to MF1. Like you said, I keeped all apps and data.
I have started afterwards with clean start, for better performance.
MF1 gifs me a better signal for wifi and 3G!
As I'm curious for MG2, does someone know that it works for Belgium?

Hello Geeks,
I am not able to use 3G internet on my canvas 4 suddenly it stopped. When I switch to '3G' network bars dissapears or even if they are there it does not load the content, phone gets hot (I think its a packet drop issue)
However, if I connect to 2G or WIFI it works awesome. I had extended warranty of mobilestore but they were not able to fix this, so I stopped trying to get it fixed but found this forum yesterday and thought to give a try.
I have used each and every available sim card which provides 3G in india and issue occurs with all, so definitely its not service provider issue. This is observed on both the sim slots

Everything seems to be working as expected with one exception.
If I turn on 'Power Saving' my push for work email via Touchdown, doesn't work, I have to manually check for mail.
With power save mode off battery life sucks even more than it did on Lolli, but it's not really a fair comparison.
