i know a class 6 is the best choice
so i got a sandisk class 6 and created an ext4 partition
and my rom started freezing
through process of elimination i figured out that two partitions on a class 6 sandisk sd card causes it to auto unmount
which is why the rom froze
anyone with a different brand that hasn't faced such issues?
What did you partition you sd-card with?
i tried with g-parted and 4ext recovery partiton
they both react the same way

Hi all,
I've recently changed my SD card to a 16G Class 10 Kingston card, and having huge issues with roms with A2SD. The issue i have is as follows
ROM takes a long time to flash, but boots up ok. A2SD is working - apps are being installed to EXT3.
When i reboot the rom, it usually does not start up again - it remains on the HTC white boot screen. If i remove the battery and reboot - it boots up ok, but then i get force closes on random applications.
I have formatted the card using ROM Manger, GParted and Mini Tool Partition. I can not seem to resolve this issue. I have checked the Card, and all seems ok
Looking for ideas.......
Thanks
Kingston SD cards have serious compability issues. I experience similar issue with a Kingston SD card.
The only reccomendation I can make is to sell it and get a Transcend SD
hello i have problem with my sd card so its operational but sometimes after a while camera gallery and file manager dosent see the card, gameloft games work, in dmesg it shows io errors in many sectors, flaweless with pc. so it is faulty microsd or not? i tried sd card formatter, then it writes blank or unsupported sd card? still testing but would like to get asolution if anyone succeded so far.
thanks!
If it is a class 10 card then it will never work, get a class 6 or lower.
its class 6 silicon power. any brand that is surely good? i heard the least problems about class 4 kingstones?
when i use mobile internet my phone freezes , i think its froze randomly too and when texting.
htc desire
supernova xtreme GB
standard kernal and radio
s-off
ive tried a sandisk 16gb class 4 and now a sandisk 16gb mobile ultra class 6 and it keeps happening
surely it cant be the sd card?
what sd card do people use for this?
have u overclocked it?
nope . ive done nothing
u tried reflashing? or checking droidzones site forum?
tried reflashing . looked on his forum , found no answers
asked on his forum too , no answer yet either. im just in a hurry because im going away on monday and was hoping to have it sorted by then.
ive just ordered a 3rd sd to try now , Transcend 16gb class 6
Class 6 SD card causes freezing
My system is:
HTC Desire (Bravo) running Supernova with DATA2SD, using an EXT4 partition on the SD Card.
Installation works flawlessly with the original Class 2 Sandisk 4GB card.
With a 32GB Class 6 Micro SD card, the phone starts laggily and quickly freezes.
Card speeds as tested in the Ubuntu Disk Manager's benchmark utility (read tests only):
Sandisk SDHC 4GB Class 2:
Min=6.5MB/s, Max=10.3MB/s, avg=8.5MB/s; avg access time=5.1ms
Sandisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 6:
Min=20.1MB/s, Max=21.2MB/s, avg=20.8MB/s; avg access time=1.4ms
Can anyone explain why the faster speed should cause problems? (rather than resolve them!). I installed twice with each card, with the same results. The advice to choose a Class 6 card would seem to be doubtful.
Thanks for any help.
Your SD card is too fast for the phone / the ROM.

Recently changed to a 32gb class 10 micro sd the other day and noticed in the latest TWRP that the option to format isn't there any more. Haven't partitioned a memory card since my og evo and was curious if things changed.
twrp format
twrp and cwm wont recognize memory cards in exfat format. it will only recognize ones in fat32 format. I used a program to convert my 64gb card to fat 32. There is a post on android central with link to the program. Its free too. Hope this helps.

I have Sandisk 64GB ultra class 10 micro SD card and Samsung Galaxy S3 phone (Cyanogenmod 10.2). I regularly encounter inconsistent write errors when trying to copy big directories (~4Gb, ~300 files). What can be possible cause of those errors? I tried to do that on PC - everything worked fine.
Maybe it is because of you format of your memory card? Do you have it in NTFS or FAT32?

Maybe because you format?
Yeah maybe you should format it and try again.
format it using the phone, you shouldn't have a problem, otherwise it could be the memory card, although i've used sandisk for over 20 years, from 8mb tf to 128GB microsdxc, not a single problem.
