What does it mean exactly ?
Does it mean you can revert back to
any another ROM or CWM backup without
unbricking first ?
Sorry for the noob question :cyclops:

As reported by some users in others threads a factory reset should do the trick to get your storage back.

I got the ICS update using the LGMobile Support Tool and it is stuck on the Telus logo loading screen. I made a thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842341
Is the file you provided in the link different from the official rom because it's rooted?

It's the same ROM. It's not rooted, he just meant it can be rooted using the same method as Bell's ICS release.
Since the update my phone has been freezing and rebooting randomly, I swapped SDcards and it was still doing it, I wonder if it's superSU doing it? Has anyone else had the rebooting happen as well?

Did you do a factory reset?
Yes I did reset the device, still does it.
I wonder if Volume+ editing build.prop to increase in-call volume has something to do with it.

Hello,
I rooted vz9 with one click root. Then used freegee to unlock and install twrp. I could use WiFi fine up until that point. Now no matter what ROM I flash (carbon, CM, PAC) I cannot connect to any WiFi. When I put in the password and hit connect it says saved but never even seems like its trying to actually connect. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks
Did you try another kernel?

You're using ZV9? That radio shouldn't even be working with anything JB. Use the ZVB/ZVC radio.

OK I guess that was an underlying question. So I can flash a vzb/vzc radio even if I'm using a custom ROM like Carbon?

I'm not sure. You shouldn't even be able to run any of the current Roms with ZV9 radio.
But if you have been, then there shouldn't be any problem. Flash the ZVC radio from the teeny bin or the OpTimuS threads. If there an issue, you might have to do a factory rest. And it probably wouldn't hurt to flash a stock ZVC ROM. Use the one titled ZVC stock rooted. I think that's what I called it.

IGood question...i didn't be even able to find this rom....e980p
Hope somebody gonna put this rom here for those who are not on at&t
No it can't be rooted as of yet... I had to return to stock... root... then do the update. And if you have a custom recovery you will soft brick... so back to stock...root... update... then install custom recovery and your good to go...

I bricked mine taking the update with a custom recovery.. I flashed back to stock. then took the update. then used Kingoroot to root it, then freeg to flash a custom recovery, so its possible to root the e980p update.. Root on 10p update
By reverting back to 10k update using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660 and rooting with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660. I now have the 10p update with root. Definitely a longer process than other carrier phones I'm sure but definitely possible. After rooting 10k update I went straight into settings and updated without doing any modifications and root stuck. Just wanted to share so others in the same situation know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck!
is there a way to manually install the update?
How are any of you able to put your e980 into recovery mode? Mine ends up with the dead android with an exclamation mark over his open chest.
Rooting on 10p literally only took less than 2mins.

i think there a easier way
just use titanium backup to convert superuser to system app
Here is your root in english, no need to watch video.
Supersu has been uploaded too.
After root install superSU and do as promted, it will remove the installed root app.
Now go to apps and uninstall the chinese app that vroot installed.
For OCD clearance do a wipe ?

Well the problem with vroot is that it supposedly Logs and uploads IMEI Numbers to servers in china(possibly). The idea around that is well they could use those IMEI numbers to take a stolen phone or Chinese phone and give it the uploaded US IMEI and then create a activation outside of the US.

How do I get the OTA Kit-Kat with a rooted v 4.1.2 ? I have SuperSu for the Superuser app and see no option to do a temp unroot (if that will even work for the OTA update).
I have managed to stay out of trouble so far, the OTA update downloads and tries to install - then I get the error "Root suspected" during the beginning of the update process. I can just turn off and on and everything is fine. I would like KitKat, but I'm seeing so many threads saying the At&T Optimus G Pro (E980) with the 4.1.2 ROM is exempt from most of the tricks supplied here for this unit. I don't know how I managed to finally root it, I tried 5 methods then went back to the first one I tried that failed before and it worked the second time. I think it was a wrong ADB version running on my laptop.
Any tried and true methods to get KitKat for this beast and still have root? Thanks.

Just to be sure we are on the same page, you are referring to LG Flashtools, correct?
