Hello.
When i have my smart stay enabled, and when i, for example, leave my phone on table beside me, not looking at it at all, screen is not turning off.. I have my screen timeout set to 30 seconds, and it is not turning off when i have smart stay enabled... Sometimes it turns off,and sometimes not.. I really like smart stay, and i dont want to turn it off, but im irritated because sometimes i just forget to push power button to turn screen off, and it stays on...
Any one got same problem or solution for this ?
You need to turn it off manually sometimes. Smart stay works so well that it will stay on in my truck at the lock screen even with sunglasses on. Small nuisance for how well it works when there is enough light. Doesn't bother me at all.

I hope someone can confirm if this is a bug or not!
Whenever I turn off my screen, and then on again it takes a second for the screen to auto-adjust the brightness up or down. (depending on the light-situation!)
Isn't the light sensor supposed to know what brightness to be at even when the screen is shut off? It's as if it first detects the light-situation when I turn on the screen. Could someone please try (in either a very dark or light room) try shut off screen, then back on and check if the brightness has stayed the same or if it first adjusts it when you've turned it on?
Why would it monitor the light when the display is off? Seems like a waste of power to me.
I doubt its a bug. More like a powersaving feature.
That's normal AFAIK.
The light sensor turns of when the screen goes off, to save a few milliamps I presume.
To my knowledge this is normal, its how mine operates as well.

It's like that on mine too. I think that all sensors are turned off when the screen is off to save battery.
[SOLVED] Bug in Auto-Brightness?
Alright, thanks for the replies. Just didn't notice it till now and it sort of bothered me.
Hi
I tried to change the timeout of my scrren but what ever I chose, nothing worked ; the screen stays on.
When I am in front of it, no big deal, I close the cover and it closes the screen but in this situation, if i have a reminder that switches the screen on, it stays on forever
Could you help me ?
I tried wakelock but i did not see anything particular and, in any case, I am not sure I know how to read it correctly but I assume that is not that difficult
Thanks for your help
Hi there, I love the LG G3, but its also annoying that the phone just lock itself right after the screen is off, unlike other device which often first lower the light, then dim the light and sleep/lock the device, allowing you to have some time touching the screen to keep it on. With G3, no matter which app you are in, or you are in the middle of the call, when it's darken the screen means the phone is lock and you have to turn on screen, enter lock code again...
Does anyone find it annoying too and know how to fix it? Thank you!

Go to settings-lock screen-lock timer and set for 2 minutes or more. The default time is too short imo. I have mine set for 2 minutes.
Thanks but its not exactly what im looking for. I set for 30s time out and I think its enough for most of the time. On other phone, it allow you some dim time so that you can keep the screen on without having to unlock the device again but G3 just lock it, even in the middle of the call when the screen is off. Thats quite annoying.

Ok you want face detection. Go to settings-display-smart screen and check the box to enable. Screen will stay on when it detects your face.
face detection doesnt seem to work on LG phone as it does on Samsung. I find it useless feature. @@
Hey guys, wanted to see if this was an issue. I'm on the latest lollipop build on my 360 and using a Note 4 with lollipop also. In android wear settings I turn ON ambient mode, it stays on sometimes, but other times it turns completely off, I'd say ambient mode doesn't stay off most of the time. I've verified that on the watch itself it says ambient mode is off. I think I narrowed it down to if the watch is turned up, ambient mode stays on, but when I tilt the watch down the screen completely turns off.
Kind of related also is I turn off tilt to activate in android wear settings, but it still turns the watch on, specifically when ambient mode off doesn't work and the phone is not facing up and turns off. I suppose this is normal behavior and the issue remains with ambient mode not staying off.
Anyone else?

This is normal. In ambient mode, the screen turns off after a short while. It seems a bit random. It's probably cos the battery wouldn't last throughout the day if it stayed on.
I personally find the ambient mode and tilt mode a bit annoying (especially when driving at night) so i just have them both switched off and tap the screen or button when i want to see the screen. The screen still lights up when an alert appears.

I noticed that when I turn on Smart Stay, I get this weird bug whereby when I rest my phone on the table face up after using it on my pc table, it just never turns the screen off.
Until I pick it up again, swipe or let it look at my face for a while and put it back on the table, then it will turn off again, as it should.
Does anybody else experience this?
