Does anybody know how to get the full size of a picture set as a lock screen wallpaper. It seems like everyone I choose ends up needing the sides cut off
Unfortunately this has to do with the aspect ratio and the lock screen being portrait. Most pictures are not shot in 16x9 portrait aspect ratio. So your landscape pictures will always be cropped for the lock screen.

Is there any way to get a non sliding and non cropped wallpaper for the Galaxy S, manual way or via application ?
Its really bothering me that the wallpapers are cropped and ultra pixelated even if the crop box is set to the largest.. I mean there has to be a way around this aside from using another launcher..

Click to collapse
960x800 is the size you need for the best quality background (.PNG). As for a non-sliding background, you have to use a launcher that has that option, LauncherPro would be the way to go (ADW if you prefer, either way).
It seems like wallapapers that I find/download (even if they are in 800x480 res), look pixelated and not as good looking as they should be on my wallpaper. Anyone know where/how I can make my wallpapers look crisp/hd like the retina wallpapers on the iPhone 4?
Try searching for them in the android market.
There apps for this on market. I used zedge
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
Thanks for the replies guys. The HD wall papers I found in the market still came out pixelated and distorted when I set them as my wallpaper.
After some google searching, I found out that you have to double the width of the native resolution in Android phones that stretch out the wallpaper over a number of screens vs. one static screen.
For future reference, the Galaxy S2 (480x800 native), needs wallpapers at 960x800 res for it to look nice and crisp. Problem fixed, I'm in love with the S2 screen again =]
Hi guys,
I'm running AOSP 4.2.1 on my Galaxy Nexus and it's been a bugging me a bit that the wallpapers (static ones) wouldn't scroll. I'm with Nova Launcher Prime and I did check - wall scrolling IS enabled. Tried disabling/enabling it - no luck. Moreover, Quickpic only displays a portrait-oriented frame for cropping pictures when I want to set them as wallpapers.
Is this Android related? Is it some bug? Can we get around it?
Thanks!
I've the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, what's the wallpaper portrait resolution so it fits the screen perfectly?
Hi guys
I have stock rom android 6
My husband sent me 4 pics from his galaxy s7 that were taken by his camera of galaxy s7
Now when i want to set them as my walpaper or background of home screen they will automatically rotate.
Why? I only have this problem with these pics not all pics in my gallery
