In all androids that I have used in the past, including the galaxy s3, if I go to phone settings, there are SIP settings available there for VOIP. I find that missing in the note 2. Any way to get those?
I had to install an app unfortunately. I already asked about this but there doesn't seem to be much interest in VOIP around here.

Hi! I found that they are there on my Note 2, but are hidden away and not accessible from the usual menu. To get to them, I installed Launcher Pro, then added a "shortcut" to the desktop ---> you can find the settings here:
Long press on desktop -> Add Shortcut -> Activites -> Phone -> Sip Settings
... I was then able to press the shortcut to go direct to the sip menu settings, and all seemed to work fine. Good luck!

PS... You also need to tweak something in "Call Settings" (eg. Activities -> Phone -> Call Settings). Here, go to "Internet Call Settings" then chose an option under "Use Internet Calling"

I am extremely frustrated that Google didn't improve this for ICS.
In my business we forward contacts to each other on a daily basis. Get new clients and have to share them with employees.
Anyways before the easiest way, was to text them. So let's says Mike needs Joe #, I would open text message to send Mike and click menu, and there should be an option to add contact, you scroll through your contacts list for Joe, click it and then it would attach to the text and be forwarded.
That was standard fair on my last five Android phones. But in ICS that option is not there. And here's the kicker, go into contact list of people, I thought OK we can forward from here. Nope. I click a contact name and the menu button and yes it does allow forwarding, but not to text only by Bluetooth and email.
Sire I know GO SMS does thus, but I like my ROM running pure stock no add ons.

This is something I would like to know aswell - I have just either been emailing or copy/pasting the phone number which is not ideal.
I have had it on all my other phones and never realised how much I would miss a small feature like this
personally i use barcode scanner to share contacts. It generates a QR code which then the other person can scan and add it to their contacts.
you are right about messaging being gone for sharing. very strange that they removed that.
Open your people app
Select the contact of choice and open it
Hit the setting button in the upper right hand of the screen and select share
Than you can email or text to someone else
Please hit the thanks button if I helped.

Nevermind I just looked again and see that there was no text option now on ICS... sorry

Hi Guys,*
I have run into a problem and cant seem to find any solution. When I initially bought my phone and synced it with my google account, the default S3 browser had all the links from my desktop browser. One was the LOCAL section that had the bookmarks stored in the phone and then there was another section with my email that had the desktop ones.
However recently, the section with my email has disappeared and I cant find a way to get it back. I think I have tried everything so really looking forward to some help. Ideally i would like to avoid using a 3rd party app since it used to work before.
Any Ideas ??*
Thanks Everyone !!

Fairly simple I hope.
Go to your phone:
1. Hit Menu Button (Bottom Left) > Settings
2. Device > Application Manager
3. All > Scroll Down To Internet
4. Then, Clear Cache > And Then Clear Data
5. Now Go Back To Settings > Personal > Accounts And Sync
6. Open The Google Account > Remove Account
7. Then Go Back To The Google Account > Add Account
8. Wait Till It Is Synced > Restart Phone
9. And Walla, When You Open Your Browser, The Bookmarks Should Sync!

ab

Thanks for the reply AB!!!.
Worked like a charm. Had to do it twice but the trick was not to open the browser before the restart. Now I've got the synced bookmarks.
Any idea why this happens though ??
Cheers
Not sure. It happened to me only once. Shouldn't happen again.
But if it does, you now know what to do!

Hi all
Does anyone know if you can disable the remote control notifications on note II
Once you have find my mobile on , if you go to the Samsung galaxy website and login to track or find your mobile it send a notification to the found phone
You can see it when you pull the screen down to read the notifications
It says phone found on find my mobile (or something similar)
I don't see the reason for I think it's silly,
How do you disable this? I tried everything I could, I need help
Please help
Very challenging
I'm still trying to get this resolved but without any luck I'm sure one of you knows the answer
Why the theft has to be notified once I would've located the phone
Your brains on this one will be highly appreciated

It's Impossible to uncheck : the checkbox is grayed.
Do a Force Stop , back out to App manager , go back in and you can tick off notifications.

I know this has been out there a while. But in Android 4.3 there are 3 Remote Control Applications , you can disable notifications on two , but not on the third Remote Controls v2_F18_1309_2_1.
Also when locating fist the GPS Flashes and then FindMyMobile Notification pops up. Finally and even worse when Mobile Data is switched off you cant find the phone at all. I would have thought it would all happen through phone side of the device so Internet Access was not required, then turn all on in stealth mode, so the Thief cannot disable or know what happening.
Any thoughts ?
Hello all,
i read the thread and i have to say that this issue is simple!!
As plug_it_in said, there are three remote controls services and unfortunately, you can disable only 1 of them ( The other two services have the notification option grayed out).
So, if you want to disable the other two you should download the application AppOps 4.3/4.4 from play store!
The above app gives you the potential to change any service permission.
Open the app, click on native appops, click on the service you want and switch off any permission you want!
In this case, in order to disable find my mobile notification you must switch off post notification option...
All works fine!! you can track your phone via samsung website without the theft see any kind of notification
That worked for me!

Hi,
Can you please specify which app is this. I search on play store and downloaded couple of apps but none seem to work,...

On my note 3 neo (android 4.3) it works with THIS app
AppOps was originally introduced by Google in Android 4.3 as a hidden feature and the app above just enable this feature. With the release of KitKat, Google made it more difficult to access App Ops, but continued to introduce new improvements to the feature. Ultimately in Android 4.4.2, Google removed access to App Ops.
If your device has android 4.4.2 or above I'm afraid you have to root and use Xposed modification.
After the installation I unchecked the "post notification" and after that I was also able to uncheck "notifications" under "Remote controls" in application manager... Now I can track the device without the notification. Thanks

This doesn't work at all on my galaxy s5 running android 5.0....any other suggestions? Please if anyone know I'd appreciate it. ALSO I HAVE A GALAXY CORE PRIME I NEED TO DO THIS ON AS WELL
Stalker alert
This is in place primarily as an anti-creeper feature. If there were no notifications then you could use this feature on an unsuspecting victims phone to track and locate them. When I first read you trying to disable the notification the first thing I thought was that you were stalking your boyfriend.

How can i disable notification of found my mobile coming on my samsung j2 mobile when i locate my phone?
After the latest Tmobile update this week for the LTE upgrade, My gallery stops working...
If I am in a Text message and want to attach a picture, it goes to the gallery and just sits and nothing happen...
I can go to the gallery and then select share... but is a PIA when I have multiple pictures to send to multiple recipients...and no, they are not the same all the time so having a group will not fix this...
Yes, I have cleared the cache
Yes I have selected to view only the images in device...but then when I go back is defaulted back to all
Yes, I know there is other apps...but why would I add an app when the stock one worked fine before
Yes, I have tried 2 different SD cards...still the same issue
Yes, I did master Re-set
Yes, I took to T-Mo Store and they told me that was not a warranty issue...and yes I spoke to tech support and the guy pretty much read a script and at one point asked me to shut down my galaxy S3...yes, S3...go figure.
I just like to know before I take drastic steps and put a custom rom on the GN2
Its a bug. Update added a kajillion galleries from Facebook, Picasa etc. More galleries, longer to load. I went through the same thing on my n4 as well. I'm trying to find a solution, been looking for the right cache to clear.

Solved it. Turn off all sync for all photo galleries. I.e Facebook, picasa etc.
Then go to settings, applications, slide over to all, then clear data and cache for gallery.
