/system fs full - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Hi everybody,
I create this thread to clarify some points. As you could check I have created another thread to root my GIO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087678 without any success
After so many testings I have discovered /system filesystem is full, this fs is only 208MB so I rooting packages cannot any file in /system
Could somebody help me to free space in this filesystem?
Thanks,
fsosson

I assume, stock rom & firmware?
The only thing I can imagine at at the moment would be a complete erase & reflash with Odin so that there would be enough memory in /system for installing the root-exploit.
Installing the root-exploit was the first thing I've done.
Did you check your free space on /system? Is it really full?

Yes I did check using the df command in a terminal app, 208MB used of 208MB
I have removed all application not located on my SD but it did not free space in /system

I've been faster than expected, I pushed the latest rom available on sammobile then rooted it successfully, at this time the phone worked fine.
Then, I used CWM recovery to push cyanogenmod cm-10-20121204-UNOFFICIAL-gio.zip but from this time the phone does not boot:crying: then I pushed pIcm-10.1-20130111-UNOFFICIAL-gio.zip with no more luck :crying:
Can someone help me to get my phone working?

Hm, let me guess: "Encryption failed"? Got the same when upgrading from Samsung firmware to CMx. Forgot to do a ext4-format of the partitions But glad to hear that you've got it working

[REF] switch to another modem version without recovery

Hi all,
months ago i found an easy way to change the modem on your phone without the need to go into the recovery mode. i planned to publish it about a months ago when i was still playing with the I9000 and reclaimed invaluable nand space but then i switched to I9100. actually the trick is simple and can be used on both I9000 and I9100 (or may be others as well, not tested)

If you want to use Froyo modem ont GB rom, the CWM files will not always be compatible.
I also did the trick (to save some space to have a cache part >50Mo to download heavy apps with new market) and it works well
PS: i see that you managed to switch the system/dbdata/data/cache location.
Is it possible to do this without compiling a new kernel?

just an example only
and yes, I used to flash via cwm also and released a skeleton zip file before, but I find it much easier to chg the modem, and to get 12mb more disk space

yes, u don need to compile the kernel, but a custom rom is a basic requirement for modding the init.rc and adding init scripts

Are you rooted?,are you S-OFF or S-ON on the bootloader?if your rooted you should'nt have a problem installing the rom,you dont have to update your hboot. You might however need to partition your sd card, some roms require it,to work correctly.

I am rooted and I am s-off. I also did partition my sd card before attempting to flash the ROM. the partition I did was swap size 32mb - 1024. And upgraded from ext2 to ext3 if that makes a difference. when I try to flash the ROM it says installation aborted. If it has nothing to do with hboot can it be the zip file than?

In order to avoid potential Force crashes amongst other issues it's generally advised to wipe via clockworkmod.
Well for a proper link to it, we'll need to know more like is your Wildfire S GSM or CDMA?

Q
If you have lost root, there is a tutorial very easy to follow on how root your phone just look in the android development section
Flash "root.zip" located in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275 This should hopefully resolve your issue of losing root.
Actually i see no differences between EU and others other than the languages ... and why not flashing any RUU ?

SOLVED: LT26i original boot.img (bricked by reflashing bootloader)

Hi guys,
well,i did something really stupid.
I was installing Cyanogenmod 9.1 to a friends phone, after i flashed the new bootloader i realised i wasn't able to insert the sdcard containing the CM9.1 rom,it has no sd-slot...
So now the phone doesn't boot anymore, except for fastboot and CWM,since i have no idea how to get the CM image to the internal storage i'm requesting the original boot.img so i can flash it back to the phone and transfer the CM image to internal storage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: ADB is also working but i can't push CM to internal storage because it's read-only.
Edit2: I solved it,eventually...
Greetz
How did you solved it, i have the sme problem here
Use ADB to push the rom to internal storage and use CWM to install the rom.
And how do i do that?
Can you help a little bit.

An easier solution would be to mount USB storage from CWM then transfer the files from your PC :good:
As a last resort don't forget you can always use Sony's repair/update software to restore the phone and start again This has saved me a couple of times

Dude, or, anyone.. I've tried Linux x64 and Windows x86 and I can't get the phone (LT26i) )to show up on my PC while it's in CWM: what am I not doing?
By the by - it's bootlooping: It had the orignal OS, then CM10.1 nightly, which was fine but my mate didn't like it..
flashtool let me put an official ICS back on board, then tried a different CM10.1 nightly, it had a few bugs of course,
so I went into CM settings/system/whatevers, searched for stable updates, and chose 9.1, dl'd and installed from the menu right there.. boot first boot got to like 30 mins so I killed it and did a restore (this may have been stupid). Which didnt work.
So I tried using Flashtool (9.0.0) to reinstall the official ICS.. and it fails. Flashtool gets as far as flashing the kernel and then it bails out.
So now, I don't have a ROM to go into to select any options or anything, or to be able to get it to show on my PC. If I can get it to show in CWM, I can sort this mess out.
Also, I have tried the 'mount USB storage' option in CWM. And I've tried mounting and unmounting stuff in CWM. Nada.
Please help!

[Q] Apps data to SD card

Second, I suffer from low internal memory problems. For some stupid reason it sees my internal storage as an SDcard.
So I have tried installing Link2SD, App2SD, Whatever2SD, NOTHING seems to work.

I used Folder mount but with the MJ7 rom it doesn't work also. Nobody knows where the problem is.
I've asked many peoples but nothing.
So I've tried mount from terminal, it works in terminal, but mouned points are not visible in Android programs too.
