Nice suggestion but I don't support CDMA due to living in England.

You have enough guides, just need the mods to sticky the megathread because people don't read them.

Well if you are in General section, next to the New Thread buttons, there is the name of the moderators, though there are lots of stickies already. But since you already have it in bold in your signature, if people don't read it then there is not much hope.
Fma can you create a guide for battery calibration? I tried many of them which can be found online but seriously none helped, my battery goes way down when I'm using, then when I stopped, the battery percentage increase about 10+ % lol.
Can you create a guide to supercharger v6 ? The original thread is very messy and ununderstandable

Hello can any one please explane why there still arent any modified rooms? is it realy hard to create it for xperia play?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
There are no custom ROMs because:
1) there is still no universal way to back up restore the relevant phone data (Trim Area, or TA)
2) there is still no custom recovery
3) there is no way to unlock the bootloaders for people with SIM-locked phones
4) there is only a certain number of people with interest and means to work on the three prior points.
You should be patient and support the people who are working on it. They'll do great things if we let them work
Yea I am eagerly waiting for some tweeked custom "ROOMS" lol

1) It's possible for now with Omnius - it officially supports TA backup/restore for MSM7x30 platform.
2) It's almost there. Check out Arc section - it works but with graphical glitches, but no files to flash yet...
3) I'm working with Androxyde on TA backup/restore tool in hex format. It'll make my progress on this much easier.
or better yet we should be trying to get xrecovery to work on our phones, doomlord and Z are trying to get it to work on the arc(they might have it working by now) once that can be implemented then we'll be able to do custom roms no problem
1) I cant wait
2) I cant wait
3) I cant wait
4) I guess i will wait, good things come to those that wait
I'm 90% happy with the stock play rom, but we all know the xda developers unlock more than 110% of a mobile devices potential
hi, i'd like to free some space of my internal storage so i can install more apps, is this could be done by just rooting my device? i've seen some Apk' rooting program, but still can handle mine, some article say GingerBread v2.3.4 can not be rooted :-S , is that right?

this thread should not be in development. there are plenty of custom roms, but i guess you have to have an IQ of at least 10 to realize that.
to name a few:
Darkforest
GintoJellyBean
CyanogenMod7.2, 9, and 10
IT rom
GlazedICS
xDarkICS
MIUI
TrueAncestor
etc.....

And if you had a higher IQ you would realise that this thread is over a year old. There's no need for you to be sarcastic like that. It's just plain rude.

Some roms are prerooted, but you may need an unlocked bootloader for some(Just read rom thread), and another way to root is "fastbooting a kernel" like Doomkernel. Just search around. You will find it in Play "Android Development"

Good day all!
Yesterday I tried the CM7.1.0 - FXP024 as posted in this thread.
While waiting for FXP030 I was very curious what CM would look like.
So I followed all the steps and everything seemed to work fine, except my phone didn't ask for my sim unlockcode.
Instead it just went straight to the screen where you have to tab the android and follow the steps to setup your phone.
Maybee I completely misunderstood and is this version like a demo?
I hope someone can help me with this question.
Greetz,
lowizi
Why would you expect it to make you put your sim unlock code in? The android that you tap to setup your phone is supposed to happen
Sent from my R800a using XDA App
Yes, I see.
But I cant connect to the network without entering my simcode first.
Thats the main problem actually.

Ofcourse I read that. I was using the SEMC rom!
I did pay attention and searched around before posting in here.
So the question remains.
I tried 3 times from a complete fresh SEMC 4.0.A.2.368 flash.
(Also tried from 4.0.1.A.0.283 if thats of any help)
Just noticed this link overhere actually links to the download for FXP023 instead of FXP024, no wonder it didn't work lol
Download: arc_beta_FXP023.7z | 108.9 MB
copy/paste helped, now I have the right download. Will try again.

I tried to search a little bit for this and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I'm new to flashing ROMS (just flashed my first one yesterday - blazer 3.7) and I am wondering what the correct procedure for flashing a new ROM would be.
Blazer 3.8 is coming out soon so that would be what I would flash to (if it makes any difference since they are both blazer). If there is a difference, what would it be? Thanks in advance for any help.

First, this is the wrong section for your question. If you have questions in the future please post in q&a. This forum is for development only.
An answer to your question is available in the e4gt wiki stickied at the top of the forum. This is a great tool which will answer a lot of questions, that's what its there for. Just do some searching.

Flaming aside and lesson learned and research done.
Flashing from 1 Rom to New different Rom:
1. Hold power button + Volume up (until you get to recovery)
2. Backup your setting (NAND)
3. Wipe Dalvic, Wipe Cache, Reset to factory setting
And or flash Calkulin's_Format_All_For_E4GT.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332837
Direct link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=771828&d=1320435068
4. Install zip from (sd or wherever you have it saved)
5. Reboot (first reboot could take up to 5mins before your running)
Note: If your updating same to the same Rom, read OP (original post) and most of the time you don't have to do factory reset (meaning you don't have to reinstall all your apps again)
Gokd luck
Thanks for the tips. If I have apps on my sd card will they be deleted as well?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Factory reset will delete all your apps/photos etc... Backup specially your photos etc.. Apps you can always reinstall. You have to either manually reinstall everything (which is what I do) OR use back up and restore apps like Titanium Back etc...
As fun as flashing is, you will probably run into problems at first... Use Q& A section or do NAND restore (very important to have)

No, they won't, all apps on internal/external sd are safe. Just wipe /cache & /dalvik cache when upgrading same ROM. Add /system to that for moving between ROMs ... now you had better git before the flames begin again!

No matter how the question is worded, these still careen to best-rom threads.
The best rom for your particular description is the one you ultimately find and use. Search the development forums, read the OP of each, and I am certain you will find the one that fits your needs. Thread closed.
