How many people use the default email client?
Do you know how we can get emails to fit the width of the email client? Most emails that I receive, it doesn't fit and I have to scroll left <--> right to see the whole email even after zooming all the way out.
I know the Gmail app now has the auto-fit feature.
I use the default client cause I also get my work emails.
Thanks.
From what I've seen the app defaults the e-mails to a desktop size so when viewing in portrait zoomed all the way out you still can't see the e-mails. It's not a problem for me but when it is all I do is view landscape. You can turn off the split-view mode too so you get the full horizontal resolution.

After viewing an email from the Sense interface, my LED still blinks telling me I have an email. Is there anyway to make the notification go away after viewing emails from Sense?
Thanks
Just installed MR2 update from Verizon.
if you are simply looking at your email on the email tab, that is just a preview. you will need actually go into the actual email to stop the notification (i normally just tap the screen and it takes you into the email.)...
this has been my experience...
I've tried searching the forums for this but with no luck. I'm new to Android and one thing is irritating me about the email application on my new Desire HD.
When I view an email the phone automatically downloads any images that are required, even if they're hosted and not embedded. This means that if I accidentally open a spam email, the phone displays it in full HTML format with the images included. I want to block those images completely (for all emails).
Is that possible with the built-in mail application? I can't find a setting that controls this, and yet it seems like such a fundamental principle on a mobile phone that the user should have control over which images are downloaded. Windows Mobile - for all its faults - did this perfectly.
I don't want to download another mail client yet - the built-in one works fine for me apart from this (and the fact that deleting emails on the phone doesn't delete them on the server - but that's for another thread).
Can I get a bump here? Please?
I'm not sure which email prog you are using.
But if you use Gmail rather than DHD phones email app, you can have all your email accounts go through the one Gmail account, which filters spam mail, and has settings for what type and size of mail you receive.
Plus all your phones emails are backed up on your google/android account.
I'm with SiliconS on this...
All mail clients (malex1 gmail is not a mail client it is a mail service)... all mail clients except androids give you the option of whether or not to download images embedded in the email.
This has a number of benefits, not least of which it prevents spammers from identifying which email addresses they spam to are actually active.
I do not want to use gmail, that is not a viable option.. I just want a good email client.
Does anyone know of one?
Thanks

I have started using K-9 for my email, like it because I get all of my emails readable instead of getting blank ones with stock email client. The only thing that promotes a problem is the notifications. In the stock client you had an option of peak and non peak polling and I can't find that in K-9. I keep getting woken up in the night because of email usually spam at that time. Have thought of turning off the notifications in K-9 and leave the ones on in stock client to get around this but would like to know if there is another way or option that I am missing. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
As stated in the title, my Sprint GS3 wont't show the complete email body from my Exchange Email Client, it's an @XXX.edu exchange client.
It only shows a few (less than 4) lines of the email body, and rest of it was lost. It happned all the times for the new emails coming in. But for some old emails , some can show the entire email body, only a few.
I can't find the similar situation on this forum and am wondering if someone has similar problem and how you fixed it.
Many Thanks!
Update:
I consulted with a Sprint Rep online, and deleted my account and re-setted it up. Selected to retrieve email size of ALL. Then it works now, showing all the email body flawlessly.
there should be a load more details button on the page. it clips the message to save on bandwidth. just hit that and it will dl the rest.
Did you change the "Size to retrieve emails" under settings? I believe it defaults to 10kb. I have mine set at 50kb, and pulls enough of the message for my liking.

Click to collapse
I always set it to no limit.....to get emails of all size.....and I tell it to sync like three weeks of emails so I can find something a little old without going to my desk
On my prior phone, GS4, there was an option for email scaling where the email app would fit the email so you would not have to scroll from side to side. I'm not finding any setting like this on the G4. Is there something I am missing. I can pinch to get the emails to fit but would like the app to do it automatically.
Is there a setting that I'm missing?
