[Q] SuPrimo v23/30 with CDMA Converter vXX - HTC One V

Hello to all of you! Can anyone help me to find out one little thing?)
I was searching for the info about converting SuPrimo 23 (updated version). I really loved that! It's just I can't convert it to CDMA as well. I tried with CDMA Converter v15 but it didn't work. (I took it from developer's site shubham(dot)viperbravo(dot)info. Needless to say, the phone was unrooted, cwm's set... the phone's virgin mobile.
So, when I'm trying to get into diag mode it just shows me the message about USSD problem (which is definetely from GSM world, not CDMA). So, what I have is a device that can be used just as box of widgets)) no phone, no wifi. But there's radio and internet through cable connect to pc.
Oh well, any tip?
upd1:
Kernel version is 3.0.30JmxPrimoC+ [email protected] #1 PREEMPT
Radiomodule 1.00.00.0521_2
Release number 2.22.401.1 CL92876 release-keys
Andriod version 4.0.4
SuPrimo v23 was converted with SuPrimo v15.0 and instead of cdma settings I have gsm one, like emtpy imei, imei sv, imsi plus no phone number, no mac address is given.
Any ideas, please?
upd2:
After searching all over (in here and other sites) I dropped to a solution which brought me to a bricked phone and then kinda recovering.
What was done
- the rom from VM RUU was taken, which led to 'bricked mode';
- Jmz PrimoC Kernel v0.1 's taken and was flashed the kernel;
- then VM odex is installed (which led to bricked again)
- then SuPrimo 23 and SuPrimo Converter CDMA 15; (all settings appeared - yeeha! - but! ) got another weird problem - 'Unfortunately, Personalize has stopped'.
I donno what causes the problem.I read there might be a CID problem.. but not sure.
Still help is needed and appreciated. 'Cause except my settings and chinese map (??) nothing more works) for now.

can't drop in diag mode
Well, continue my research)
Many of you know what command to use to get into diag mode, this is ##3424#. But my phone doesn't allow it. Like if it's a gsm model. Donno why. So, what I did is I used such a command:
- *#*#3424#*#* (this is HTC Function Test v3.01.01g)
It gives a list of tests which you may run. So, I run device information and and it shown me Model Number, Dev serial, MEID, Phone numberand MSI all correct. Then I run Hardware information and Software info and all's okay too.
And then I run another command - *#*#4636*#*# (Testing) And took a look into Phone Information:
Neighboring CID: unknown
GSM service: Emergency calls only (?? why?)
Network type: unknown
GSM disconnects: =====DATA======
Set preferred network type: CDMA auto (PRL)
I donno why ##diag# doesn't work. Coz of that my pc doesn't see COM port of htc and therefore I can't use QPST or CDMA workshop or whatever that changes settings of the phone.
Help me please, what direction should I take a look at?

I am currently running SuPrimoV.30 with CDMA converter V.15
Using TWRP recovery allows you to flash the zips in the correct order as listed below.
1. Did you perform a full wipe when installing SuPrimoV.23/V.30?
2. Be sure to flash CDMA converter right after flashing SuPrimoV.23/V.30.
3. Boot into fastboot and flash the boot.img from CDMA converter zip.
4. Reboot phone and Enjoy SuPrimoV.23/V.30. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me.
TWRP? Why not CWM?(I used CWM-based Recovery v.6.0.1.5)
And if TWRP - then which version (link is appreciated)
I used full wipe. But as for 3. - cwm & converter zip. I'll try the way you suggest and set the newer version of SuPrimo.
Thank you for your help!

Twrp is nice because it is touch not the buttons. In my opinion I freaking love touch recoveries. Twrp seems to be less buggy than the cwm for hov on CDMA. The current version is 2.3.1 somewhere on the hov forums

Well, I did all as you've written. Phone is clean) (no phone number) and no diag mode still. (
upd:
And yes, in v.30 I had a problem with camera (it didn't work). So, I changed my rom to jmz one.

Just wanted to tell all that CDMA does not mean you dont have a sim card.
I am from India and we have CDMA mobiles with sim cards and we can interchange them just like GSM.

Thats kind of wrong. These devices are WCDMA (like the Touch pro 2 and Desire)
CDMA do not have sim cards AT ALL (i.e: HTC EVO, MOTO DROID X), there is no SIM card Slot to insert.

Sorry but I just don't get this definition at all. Does it mean it affects only branded phones? Also, how can I check what RADIO has been used on my Desire? Anyway I would appreciate it, if you could clear things up and also give some examples if possible.

If you want i will send you a pic of my CDMA phone

Nokia 6275.
Please dont get offended mate.
I know people from europe dont have CDMA with sim cards.
Also in India we dont have a single operator which offers contracts. We can buy whatever phone and whatever sim no phone is sim locked here except Apple Iphone(wich is sim locked but still without any contract)
@PTKTheBest: Thanks for clearing things up! Although one question remained unanswered: how can I check what version of radio is used on my Desire? If it helps, I have both unrooted and unbranded one.
The radio is the "baseband" in "software information"

[Patch] Fix EPST (##778#) for Virtuous Unity

EPST fixed by Oxge: http://www.diypda.com/viewthread.php?tid=374246
usage:
1. Connect your phone with Windows XP/7 Computer
2. Download patch file and Extract it
3. RUN "fix EPST.bat", then restart your phone.
Congratulations, try your ##778#.
It's workded fine on my Virtuous Unity ROM.
Thanks Relay.
Does it works for all rom or just for CM7?
I don;t know, but I think I should not
I will give it a try
What's this?
Is this a new feature kinda like Siri from iPhone 4S?
EPST does a number of things. Namely it's what helps control the # programming codes in the phone to allow you to do updates to things dealing with the phones operations. Something that has to be there in other words.
In fact we always use it to edit our APN settings .
Correct me if i am wrong
##778#
Does any one know if it works on CM7 / Nightlies?
If anything goes wrong, will a nandroid fix it?
I just hate having to flash a dif ROM just adjust my data settings....
I am not sure because CM is an ASOP Rom , certainly wouldn't work ,
And of course the nandroid should get both right back .
This is only for Sense , especially for virtuous , i never try it to other Rom , but probably guess, should be working .
I will try and edit my post .
Can someone enlighten me as to what exactly is this supposed to fix? Specifically, I am looking to see if there is a method to manually program the MDN which was comically omitted in this phone. Please let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree...

I'm not sure if this hack is for just for the codes listed?
But there is another thread form the same person regarding ##3424#.
Unless you are running a sense ROM that has those codes enabled, The only known workaround (for now) is to fully wipe (Factory Reset), clear things (Sometimes Twice), flash the sense ROM, set the data settings, then repeat the process to enable the ROM that has the ## Phone Codes Disabled.
For some reason the access to these codes is considered to be a low priority, and since there is a so called workaround, it is even a lower priority.
Good luck with finding a ROM that won't leave you with either a force-fed update or a problem when switching back and forth.
There are some files to freeze or delete to avoid the first problem, and can be changed in the before you flash (if your any good with un zipping & re zipping ROM files) but I think that will change the md5 sum & that could cause problems after the flash and even after the re flash.
Good luck

[GUIDE]Save 3g settings from other carriers

I've seen so much people complaining about flashing their cellphones to another carrier but the phone isnt saving 3g info to the efs. Well, it seems like something blocked by Sprint. To get it working do this:
-Connect your phone in dial mode to your windows pc(doesnt work on other OS).
-Download this file
-Download this FREE version CDMA Workshop
-Open CDMA Workshop, on the right top side, check the box next to the textbox and introduce your spc and click connect and read.
-Navigate to memory tab and in "NV-items" click write and select the 1st file you just downloaded.
-Finally close CDMA Workshop and it'll ask you to reboot the phone, click yes and then proceed to flash your phone.
I used Qualcomm QPST to configure data in my country. I guess DFS also work but I havent tested it yet.
Links are not mine but tested it.

Problem started while flashing TMo firmware and custom ROM.
The ROM ran without the firmware but no data.
Header says most of it.
I've updated drivers: HTC & Android
Running two different ADB/fastboot platforms: one Android and one not.
Tried flashing an RUU from x-sd and download mode but sd not accessible. My phone has several USB behavior options. And it defaults to "charge" unless I manually change it to "file transfer" which I am unable to do without access to "Settings". Some of my problems may stem from this.
Have tried various TWRP versions. I believe it was an older version which allowed the firmware update.
Tried mounting SD via ADB but way over my head.
Currently stuck between "download mode", "bootloader
mode", or "power down."
I Have No Access To Phone Settings.
Obviously in WAY OVER MY HEAD!
Previous custom rom (4.49.605.11) worked with VZW (was written for vzw), and it worked for a while with TMo sim card. But data eventually failed.
Will happily supply anyone with any info I am able to access.
Thanks-a-million in advance!
As for fixing all your issues, maybe i cannot but what i can tell you is that supercid is no longer valid so change it to match your firmware.
If you're having usb connection issues try DISABLING usb debugging in developer settings.

Thanks @shivadow for your response.
I'm unable to access my settings to change USB connection.
I'll try changing cid when i get to office. But thought it was working when I flashed tmo firmware. What I didn't do is reboot between flashing firmware and flashing rom. ? I'm thinking that if I could access "settings " I could mount SD and change USB setting to "file transfer". ? And would then device would be recognized in ADB cmd. ???
The root of the problems is that you flashed GSM firmware files on a CDMA device. The GSM and the CDMA versions of the M9 (and actually every other HTC device) use different partition layouts so that such a cross-flash results almost always in unrecoverable hardware damages.

Thanks for your response @Flippy498,
Just to be clear, my phone listed "gsm/cdma/(?can't remember?)" as well as "global" under network preferences.
Does this matter?
The phones that get distributed by Sprint and Verizon are CDMA phones. The original MID of your phone belongs to the Verizon CDMA variant.
"Newer" CDMA devices need to support sim cards, too, since LTE is a GSM-only technology. In addition, these phones often support some (not all!) non-LTE GSM frequencies, too. That's why you can choose "global" in your network preferences.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Labs
If you've flashed a gsm firmware onto a cdma phone then it's very possible that you've bricked it. The only way to find out is to flash its proper stock firmware and see if it does anything.. for which you need to set the cid etc back.
Thanks again gentlemen for the help! I've lived and learned.

Help plz, weird baseband/EFS/IMEI problem...

Hi guyz, Snakeforhire here. For some reason I can't access my old account anymore so had to create another one :/
My 3rd phone (not in production) is a N7100 which behaves weird since I flashed a stock 4.4.2 ROM on it : when I boot it up, it loads OK, recognizes the SIM card and asks for the PIN to unlock it, but once fully booted it doesn't pick up a carrier and displays the barred circle instead Wifi and bluetooth work OK though.
From what I can see it has a valid IMEI (an analyser tool from PlayStore recognizes it as a valid GN2 IMEI), and the EFS doesn't seem corrupted.
"About device" displays the following info :
Android version : 4.4.2
baseband version : N7100XXUFND3
Kernel version : 3.0.31-1280411
(....)
Build #KOT49H.N7100XXUFND3
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thx !
Has the phone been blacklisted from your carrier? Is it possible there is a loose connection inside?
