So I have a galaxy s3 on Sprint, not rooted or anything. Why is it I can see emojis on Twitter?
I follow Kid Ink, he uses them every now and then. He says he uses android, how did he get emojis on Twitter?
In the image you can see what I see. I believe those are emoji ?
Also why did my nexus 7 get an emoji keyboard on it with its update to 4.2 I believe?

One place I know of is in the txt msg app, in the settings you can enable support for like 471 emoji.

You can see the emojis in Twitter, Instagram, Messaging, etc. now because there is emoji support in Jelly Bean. However, as far as I know, there is no emoji add-on to the stock keyboard. I know it's not a part of your question but you can type emojis on Twitter and Instagram using other keyboards with the add on. The one I use is go keyboard, but just for the emojis. I personally think it's a terrible keyboard
There is a modified stock keyboard in the International Forum. I don't know if it will work with ours or not. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jlsoft.inputmethod.latin.jelly.free is a stock jellybean keyboard and if you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.plugin.emoji and enable it in the keyboard settings you will have an emoji key just like iDevices.
Download multiLing keyboard off the market.

For some strange reason I can't see emoji on my phone anymore. Anybody know what's up? I'm running stock LJ7 no mods, fresh install.
I think I remember having something similar. I don't know if I was on stock but after I flashed a different rom the emojis were all showing. I know that's not an ideal approach but you could try it.

Have you tried Handscent? I know it works with iPhone emoji. Don't know about the latest IOS, since it was just released. Have the emoji changed in 6?

Handcent was the one I was looking at, although if you're talking with someone from Japan check which carrier they're on - each one has slightly different values for their emoji AFAIK.
Tried pulling the SC-02C messaging and input and moving to the E4GT - caused the phone to lock up and I had to restore. Will let anyone know if I get any further.

Hey Garwynn, Not to bug, but is it possible you can try to make this flashable zip work correctly with our device? It pretty much is a way to enable Emoji icons on devices.

I'm sure it might not be hard at all, but I'm not sure how to get it to work as it should.
Thanks
edit: Nvm... it seems to be working okay without modifying it from my end so far a bit.
You heard it first here at XDA, New SWYPE BETA update brings awesome gesture feature and different theme options.
www.Swype.com
I'm loving the new version. Many themes, looks sleeker, and they moved the hyphen to the first symbols page which was always a huge pain for me.

Swype did it again.
Built-in theming AND soft vibrate on keypress.
Brilliant!

Can anyone confirm if this version uses more RAM? On my SGS III it is using 44MB, phone has been on for 25 hours.
But on my LG Thrill 4G, it is still on the older version (1.1.1.7628) and using 18MB for the past 16 hours.
I'm at 35mb after 12 hours but I noticed they put a lot more work into Swype connect so the app is only using about 20mb & the Swypeconnect part is at about 15mb. I also noticed after signing in to it to back up my dictionary that somehow all my words are gone.. go figure. Hopefully I can get it back through titanium or something.

Thanks. I use cm10 and add your know doesn't come with Swype so just that alone keeps me from having to flash back and forth from tw two cm and back and forth. Little details but like some of you know its the little things can make it or break it.

You're comparing peanuts to peanuts in a sea of 2GB. I'd still be using Swype even if it was hogging... 25% of my ram, but, atm, it's only eating 39MB.
just a quick question I installed it on my phone running frosty JB v2 and the keyboard works great but I don't have theme options anyone else have this?
BTW tried it on an aokp rom and themes were there, any ideas how to get it working with both roms?
Just updated. Thank God for a nice black theme like I had on my RAZR, and now "i" is auto-capitalizing to "I"properly again. Second one was REALLY bugging me.
Will be interesting to see the new Swiftkey swype offering tough.

The gestures are pretty handy when i remember to use them.
Themes look nice. The voice to text is very good (unless this uses the native Google engine? )
How long has this beta been around? Are they eventually going to put a release on the android market?

It uses the Dragon Go voice engine. Dragon Go is an app in the market as well, pretty handy.
That's a good question, It's been beta since the original galaxy s. I don't know when they are going to make it official.

I think the beta is used to test out new features which they include to OEMs. Not sure they are going to put out an actual app in the Marketplace.
I didn't see the soft vibrate on keypress.

Hey guys. I'm looking for the Android AOSP keyboard with Emojis. I've downloaded multiple 4.2 Android Keyboards and none seem to have Emojis. I'm not rooted as of yet, as I lost my USB cord. I just need a link to a download that would have it. Thanks
The 4.2 keyboard and emoji keyboards are two different keyboards. Once you install them both you can switch between them. You said you already installed multiple 4.w keyboards so keep them installed. Look on the second and third pages of this section there's a thread called 4.2 emoji keyboard and there you can find links and how to install it.
Using my phone so I can't post a direct link to there. But should be easy to find.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before...But
I'm using the Sprint Galaxy SIII and for 2 days I've been searching and trying different keyboards looking for one comparable to the keyboard in cm 10.1. The emojis worked great on that. Since switching back to stock rooted touchwiz I haven't found anything that works as well. I've tried stock Android keyboard because that's what's everyone is saying works, but when I go to settings to add dictionary, there is no dictionary option for me to use to try to add emojis. I know someone will probably say browse the threads but I've done that for 2 days and haven't had any luck so if someone can just point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. If you've used cm 10.1 that keyboard with those emojis would be perfect.
Thanks in advance!!

I went to that thread but didn't see any separate emoji keyboard, only the AOSP MMS apps that have the keyboards. I really don't want to replace the stock MMS app, i'm fine with it, but interested in the keyboard with emoji. I'm running the 4.2 keyboard already.

Yeah, I misunderstood the question, most of the ones in the market don't receive emoji at all. I wish Swype would add it, their keyboard is pretty good, now out of beta. The MMS app gives you the emoji send/receive experience and it's super customizable.

For me, didnt care about having to change the msg'ing app. The stock one was cool but it wasn't a deal breaker to have to change it. I kinda like the other one better anyway!

I personally prefer Kii Keyboard. It's fully customizable and themable, you can change the size of the keys, the whole keyboard, how the keyboard works, etc. It's got all the functionality of the Google Keyboard and more too. Totally worth the cash, and it works with every keyboard theme out there that I've tried.

Im using Swiftkey Tablet edition and I like how it splits the keyboard when I rotate my phone. Also think it has one of the best predictive text options out. :good:
My favorite keyboard has been Hacker's Keyboard for a while now. It is great for terminal/remote desktop as it has all the control and modifier keys. Also has a real PC-like layout with number row, arrows, punctuation, and tab with a numpad, home/ins/del block, F keys, and more on the second page. Also very customizable. I don't like autocorrect or suggestions so a good basic keyboard is perfect for me. It's open source as well.
