Delete One X skins for sense 4+ - HTC One X

I've installed a couple of skins for my One x running Sense 4+ but I don't seem to be able to uninstall them. Does anyone has any idea on how to uninstall them?

Take a root explorer like es file explorer, enable root function and navigate to data/app. They should be in there, delete them and reboot the phone.

Remove preinstalled apps ->cm7

How would I go about deleting some of the preinstalled apps in cm7? I read to download titanium backup and do it with that. When I did it using that app, nothing was uninstalled even though it said it was.
There are a few ways. You can do it through a paid app called System App Remover, adb or you can delete the apk's from the zip archive before you flash it. I do a combo between the first and third way. Just to point out, you need to be s-off to do out through the app.

I just delete .apk files from /system using root explorer.
S-off needed for this method.

I have S-off but in my file explorer when I go to syste/app and try to delete those apk files it says that it can't. The titanium uninstall which I did after getting S-OFF, done by some recovery exploit also does not work.

Enabled root explorer option in your explorer? Which explorer do you use?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
And have you got /system mounted r/w, not r/o?
use the latest "root explorer" from the market and make sure superuser allows it
when u open root explorer press the "mount r/w" button at the top to have write access

Although root explorer is well enough to pay money for it, there is a good free alternative called "file explorer". But you have to mount as r/w, too.

Thank you all. If it wasn't for you all I'd be following instructions and not know to mount r/w.
You can use Root_uninstaller_pro_v1.13.apk and uninstall the system application you don't use. I use this app and have no problem.

Direct in the programm you use. To name two examples:
1.) In root explorer you have an extra single button at the top
2.) In file explorer: menu>more>settings>file explorer settings>check root explorer option (and enter superuser request). Go back to root of your sd card. Now menu>more>mount>mount as read write. File explorer should show "access".

[Q] Silence Camera?

Is there an app or a custom rom mod that can silence my camera without having to turn the actual sound down on the phone?
Just delete the audio file or rename it with the extension .bak. You can also do this for the low battery sound. I don't remember the location off hand, but it isn't hard to find if you poke around.
delete or rename /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg

Root Explorer can, assuming you are rooted.
i used to run an update.zip i made after flashing roms, to remove a load of junk apps, install a couple and also remove this click sound.
I've not made a version for the GNex yet though as i havent bothered with custom roms.
Assuming you are rooted? Try Root Explorer - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer
Make sure you click the Mount R/W button first or it will not let you edit the file. I would recommend just renaming the file camera_click.ogg.bak - never know when you'll want it back!
With ES file explorer you can also access the system partition. Just have a look to the options (of course you need a rooted phone).
Thanks to this thread, my camera/camcorder shutter is now silent- but i still have the loud focus-confirm noise. I can't find the file for that in the media folders to rename/delete.
Anybody got an idea for that?

[Q] Minimalist Font Removal

Hi,
does anyone know how can i remove Minimalist Fonts Pack from ARHD 7.1.0 Rom?
Get a root explorer type program like Root Explorer or ES File Manager/Super Manager (these 2 are free) and delete the APK/fonts from where they are stored.

Will it go back to default then? If i delete it? I tried to delete using ES Explorer. Went to System/Fonts/ then tried deleting DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf but it says cannot be deleted. Well currently it is using that fonts. is that the default name for One X to use?
I managed to solve this problem.
I needed to allow System Changes for Root in ES Explorer. Also i used LC Font Changer to try out other fonts by flashing it in CWM Recovery and it also previews the font. Easy and fast.
Anyway thanks for the help.

file explorer capabilities renounced. renamed to root browser.

I am wondering if anyone else has noticed what I have come across. I use esf file explorer. In the past with custom ROMs you could easily direct into system/apps and delete or add which app you choose. But now it does not seem possible. You try to delete and at first it will confirm but the app will remain. On second attempt you will be prompt that this command has failed. Installing a new system app after giving permissions will give the same result.
I'm wondering if the developers have add some security so to stop us users altering there ROMs to suite yourself.
To me this is not open source any more and being given root access will need renamed to root browser. This isn't cool and is an obvious step in the direction of closed source.
I am currently trying renovate final 1.1. And Cyanogenmod on my nexus 7. Hopefully its jusr esf file explorers capabilities have renounced. But i suspect not. Are others having the same problem with custom ROMs.
Did you enable root acces in the settings of es file Explorer and also enabled the system partition as read and write ?

To gain access to system/apps you must enable root. Not sure what you mean by sytem partition as read and write. If its mount file system as read and write. Yes.
When you open es file Explorer and go to settings you enabled the root acces feature. But you you also need to enable the system partition to read and write
The picture is in Dutch .....But you need to enable the top 3 functions

sorry for trying to help.....
I'm using es file explorer with viperx ROM and I have no problems uninstalling or installing system apps. Have you tried uninstalling es file explorer and then reinstalling it or at least clearing its cache?

Thx I'll try viperx. See if that's still open. I can tell you CyanogenMod and Renovate are not. At least not on my devices.

[Q] Root does not change anything

Hi
I have rooted my p6 via eroot method. It seems to be rooted. I can install cwm touch, I can flash something, superuser works, but I can't rename the files in system, can't copy any files to system folder.
I used Es file explorer and root browser with granting root permissions. Both didn't work.
Any idea, solution? Thanks.

Because you also have to make the folders R/W (Read/Write)
With es file Explorer it doesent work. With every other root Explorer it works without any changes in file system settings.
