I have a rooted phone, using nova launcher. When I make a custom UCCW widget the hotspots do not work on it no matter what app I try to link them to. I've watched the 'how to' vids for UCCW several times to be sure I'm not just stupid, but this is frustrating since I like my own custom setup. Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure hotspots are enabled in settings. Also after making your hotspot changes, save the file and overwrite existing widget. Then remove the widget from your home screen and reapply it.

WidgeLocker from the market. Excellent highly customizable lockscreen app. Plus there is a whole thread on it with custom locks and such... Only thing is, it's not free.
Heres the link to that thread I mentioned earlier if you're considering the app:

+1. Widgetlocker is an amazing app
Sent from my HTC Vision
I got rid of widget locker on my N1...Too buggy and slow for me
Being able to put the Handcent widget on the lock screen is worth the price of the app alone. I'm not a fan of the popup.

thats the only solution....?
Widget Locker.
You can get a *Pirated* version to do some testing...
At first I didn't like it much & didn't think it justified the cost, but it's great to have all your Go To Apps right on the Lock Screen along with the customization...
Once you purchase the App you get a lot more options & a much stabler build... Highly recommended.
I guess I haven't figured it out. Ijust purchased widget Locker, and it's pretty cool, but I can't get it to overwrite my actual lock screen setup.
Right now I slide the unlock slider, and that takes me to the phone's unlock slider, to then enter pswrd. Any way to go from widgetlocker straight to pw?
OP dude how the heck have you had so many phones...4 iPhones??? LOL
I tried it out on CM 6.1 and it was glitchy as hell .

hahahah, if you really love phones like i do, you find ways to get new ones every so often. i like to trade a lot on craigslist. you can really get some killer deals. traded my iPhone 3gs for my brand new g2. best. deal. ever.
so is there no way to set a different wallpaper for lock screen and home screen?
well so far i dont see any other app that allows u to do what widget locker does. Wish their was a trial version of this aswell but i took the leap and bought it and i was not disappointed at all. Its not that buggy at all on the g2 as long as u dont lock it and unlock really fast... than the screen flashes with the lock but thats the only problem i have so far. I havnt even modded my widget locker till i looked into this post! and WOW i love it even more now. i dont remeber how much i paid for the app but.. worth it def.!
is there a way to edit it? This must have been asked a million times, but i don't mean with widget locker or lockbot or something like that. I find the clock tacky, since the notification bar is right there and i want to remove it. i'd imagine it would require rooting. thanks
yes
yes requires rooting because you would have to modify a theme zip like a stock theme then modify the .PNG then flash ....atleast thats the only way i know about it
You need to be rooted and running a deodexed rom. You then would have to do some xml edits to remove the clock

ok thanks guys. while i've rooted before, my epic still has the new phone smell and i'm still babying it. but could you help with this? is there a locking app that either:
1. overwrites that xml file or w.e. so that it is not active at the same time. (so they aren't fighting for domination?)
2. keeps the functionality of being able to swipe to missed texts, calls, e.t.c.
thanks.

There's different apps in the market that changes the lock screen. You might want to start looking into those

Can you point me in the direction where I can find a different lock screen zip for the epic thats not the TW one or the AOSP one?
Search isn't working right now...

Those two are pretty much it as far as lockscreens that work on the epic. You can get the rotary lockscreen if you use the cm6 beta, which I have found to be quite stable. Other than that you are going to need an app rather than a flashable zip.

I would recommend GOTO. Its in the market. Its a paid app, but as you unlock you can choose between messages, phone and gmail. You can change which apps it opens if you don't use the stock programs. I have been using it for a month or so. Just make sure you run through the setup twice to make sure the settings are set correctly. Initial setup is kind of tricky i though. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.
Just trying to figure out how to use custom icon packs? and where to get them?
Ive never really done much in the way of customising my phone, and just installed Go launcher EX..
Managed to get a nice black and white thing going but obviously all the icons are the standard sgs2 ones. so what would be the easiest way to replace them?
Thanks for any help
Still learning myself, but check this thread in the Android Themes forum (not specific to the SGS2)
Hope that's what you're wanting...
thanks for that..
Didnt realize you had to alter each icon 1 at a time linking each 1 to the one you want it to replace though... was kinda hoping just to download a pack,, install it and it would auto replace all the relevant icons., heh

For as long as I can remember, I've always had an issue with changing the lockscreen wallpaper on ONLY LG devices. From stock to custom ROMS, The lock screen wallpaper seems to only be able to change to a stock wallpaper, but for a certain amount of time to a custom wallpaper after a clean install.
**UPDATE**
Problem solved. Simple solution. Not quite sure what caused the problem yet. Will update once I do.
/data/user/0/com.lg.lockscreensetting
Locate wallpaper.png
Change permission to "rwxrwxrwx"
Reboot
Win!

Don't have com.lg.lockscreensettings
Hi, I don't actually have a folder called com.lg.lockscreensettings in 0 folder. I would be very glad if someone helped me. Thanks
Thanks!
The InterWebs is so full of (oftentimes, hard-to-find, useless) information.
I spent so much time looking elsewhere when I should've checked XDA first!
Thanks Chance - and XDA.
Bonus: I didn't even need to reboot!
Did you ever figure out what broke it in the first place? Mine worked fine and then just didn't. I think it might have been due to the AppyGeek app.

In my case at least, all signs are pointing to xposed framework. Hard to pinpoint the exact cause as the issue is intermittent, happening randomly between rooting and xposed.
