Problem with slow W.

Does anyone else has problems with the phone beeing slow?
Sometimes when i want to call somebody and i press contacts it can take like 30 sec before anything happens, Same thing with apps and mail.
And there is like 20MB free of RAM. To bad this Phone has a great CPU at 1,4Ghz but RAM is really low. I think that will be the phones death..

Yeah, when I first got it it was really slow but it's much better after the last update. Still a little slower than I would have thought.

Any phone will become slow if you have too many things running all at once.. If your free ram hover around 20mb, i bet that you're instaling too many Go product.. It could be due to too many widgets, facebook apps also could be the culprit for taking too much ram..

Whats the point of having allot or storage if you cant make use of it for like apps ...
and why make a phone with so little RAM, And btw why can i only use 350MB?
The phone has 512 like my old Blade and i had like 200MB free on that. With the same apps.
I have like 4 widgets.
Allso Go SMS Pro.
Only have the usual facebook app.

30 seconds is too slow for ctc to appear.
Scrolling from one end to the other is it slow ?
Try to Antutu Benchmark and post here.

have been thinking about getting an S2 instead but i want to wait for a ROM like CM and try it out.
and what about the 350MB limit on the RAM?

Most phones are now designed to use up all the RAM unless they have to let it go.
So ideally, you WANT to have only 20mb of RAM left. That way all your phone is being used, no point putting 1gb of RAM if all you're going to do is leave it empty.
I recommend the App RAM Manager Free

Also, I'd recommend you run some tests, using your Task killer, close one app at a time and check the speed of the phone. I'd bet one of these apps is a hog!

I dont use one.
2Gb Internal SD and 1GB ROM is more than enough for my apps and pictures.

First of all try like Vyker said. Close programs one by one and check free Ram after u closed 1 program. Well maybe u should try to flash latest Rom because what u saying is weird for me. With energy saver on, wi-fi off all 3rd programs off my Antutu score is 3827 and i have 0 lag. I use latest official Rom 2.3.6 I8150XXKL3. In normal use i have about 130mb free ram and after i clean ram memory i have about 140-160.

I still am on stock 2.3.5 but am not experiencing any lag after doing the following:
1. Use only 3 home screens down from default of 5. I tried using 2 and it's even faster.
2. Minimized the use of widgets unless really necessary.
3. Move as much apps to SD if possible using App2SD.
4. Apply several build.prop tweaks.
5. Apply V6 Supercharger script.
6. Change stock launcher to ADW Ex Launcher.
RAM on boot is around 250MB-260MB and feels buttery smooth.

I have the same problem. For the first year of using GT-I8150 everything was fine, than it became rapidly slow - loading contacts, messages, missed-call list and when return to he homescreen it took time to load even default icons.
So i restored whole phone - it got better for a few months, but became slow again.
Tried everything - restoring, deleting apps, clearing memory... none helped.
Solution? I got iPhone

finding another rom is the best thing to do now

i have a problem too with my phone...when it was in stock rom...the fone lags in homescreen even app drawer when i scroll from left to right and back to left again...am i the only 1 who have this problem with the fone? anyone?

i think its too many running app, what rom do you use on your w btw ?

I have some problems.
1. I am on stock ROM and Kernel..
In all mode, can not set CPU frequency more then 1.2GHz and less then 200MHz. Is this due to my phone kernel limitation?
2. I have also installed some power saving apps like Lux brightness, Greenify....
Is this app will kill all these app?
Please reply me. I am noob to app these

1. Dude stock ROM kernel means are u rooted? I dont think so.. If so u need a OC kernel..
2. If apps r trying to wakeup i wont allow them to stay long.. I think LUX has no issue. Greenify i hav to check and let u know.

Ya change to ICS OC kernel ur stock kernel doesnt support OC.... Try Dorimanx kernel its OCd upto 1600 Mhz.. If u more concerned abt battery dont OC... Thx to the app i m getting 4+ hrs of screen on time...

Downloaded this for my nexus 4 and the idea of this app is pretty cool just open app and tap on 1 of the battery or power modes BUT i have a problem with this app which im not sure is normal or can be fixed, when i choose 1 of the power options e.g performance and i then want to switch to powersave or standby it does not change, i can tap on it and it will say powersave on but u can see on cpu its still on performance so basically have to reboot everytime i want to switch which obvioisly is very annoying

Question regarding Defence Feature
I am new to this app but eager to learn more about it and to increase it's effectiveness..
I am puzzled a bit about the Defence feature...
Does this feature identify apps that are using excess power so that one can disable them?
Any other uses for this feature?

battery drain bbs. stock rooted

Hi all,
I have a problem with a battery drain that i am not able to understand, i recently deleted fb and whatsapp but this has not solved the problem, i do not have viber and i have freezed almost everything even maps....i attach the log of better battery stats
I get almost 10%/h of drain, unacceptable for 2100mah...im missing s3....
SOLUTION:
The problem is the charger, i think that my charger is not original or maybe it has some weird error that prevents the phone from going into deep sleep.
This is the post where i got the informations i needed:
To make deepsleep working again you just have to charge your phone (not necessary) and then reboot it without plugging the cable in again. I write this while my phone is in deepsleep from something like 3 mins, i discovered now that post so i don't know if it's a permanent fix.

That is very abnormal, the phone should be deep sleeping overnight for the most part when screen is off.
Have you tried the "Greenify" app? it makes a difference of night and day when it comes to battery life. EDIT: Sorry I just noticed you have Greenify in BBS already.. that's weird.
If you have Titanium Backup, and you are unlocked - backup LG MLT, then uninstall it.
Perhaps disable Fast Dormancy as well - that may help.

Nope it didn't worked...i have uninstalled lmt but still deepsleep not showing in cpuspy nor bbs...i didn't have switched fast dormancy because vodafone supports it so many thinks it is better to leave it on...i is needed i will search how to do it do you need any screen or log?

Atlast i can see a guy who is wrryin juz lyk me..... .... Ya buddy im also facing the same problem.... At max 30% battery drain over night..... Sometimes ma mobile enters deep sleep mode and im getting awesome battry backup of 2 days with 2g data always on.... I use whatsapp nd fb.... No task killer nd battry saver kinda stuffs..... But if i restart the mobile its nt enterin deep sleep mode nd facin same battry drain..... Bettr battry stat shows no wake lock in alarm manager...!!

Unfortunately i already tried the free version.,.but the device still wasn't falling asleep deeply...I'll try again hoping somethnig will change...

The strange thing is that it seems to me that there is not any wakelock...i mean in my stats there is an amount of wakelock time really poor conpared with the amount of tim where the device was on...on 8h there are 30mins max of wakelock....so why it dos not go into deepsleep? Maybe its a kernel issue? There is any modded kernel for the optimus g ?

Same problem.... No deep sleep... In log yu can see the alarm manager causing many wake locks.... Since its a service we can't stop it..... Soln s der in LG's hand else install CM or other custom roms...!!

mmm...i'm thinking on installing a cm or if exists, jellybam, wich i love...hope it exists...now i have twrp, before anything now i will try a backup and a wipe of cache and dalvik and i will see if something will change...otherwise i will install some custom rom.... it is impossible to have 8-10%/h, i am able to reach 15:00 and then the phone needs to be charged again...:crying:

Now i installed cm10.1 and nothing has been solved, still locked at 384Mhz when it should be in deep sleep..

Yes...it still works..just to be sure if u open BBS you should see only the boot reference and not the since unplugged one...

[Q] Phone will lock up/lag lose sound and overheat

Okay since I bought this phone had it rooted and started to run ICS ROMS my phone has been having the same problem.
I haven't overclock the kernel, did research on every ROM before I downloaded, and I haven't messed with any of the settings for the kernel or GPU.
1. While surfing the internet my phone gets hot, like 145°F and some times higher.
2. After using phone for a bit of time screen lock it, go back and unlock it(time between does not matter), I lose sound for notifications and screen noises like typing.
3. After what happens or the same time the starts to lag if not lock up and some times the phone will reboot.
I'm currently running CI3Kener's PACman V1.8 ROM and Uber kernel nightly. Stock clock times using the accompanying performance control app, apex launcher converted to system app, super tuner pro to stop starting up apps that I've installed. No theming, and a couple of other apps' widgets running.

Now I'm hoping that it's not a hardware issue (replace phone) but a script issue...
Had anyone had this issue? If so what did you do to fix it, other than replacing the phone?

If every ROM generates same fault(overheating&rest), I suspect a hardware issue, probably CPU related...:crying:

If you do not have a lot of apps running and cpu stuck at max nonstop then there is no way it should get that hot. It definitely sounds like something is wrong internally unfortunately.

Super tuner will show 40-45 process running and then I'll open browser about 5-10 min later I notice the phone is hot and close the browser and the temp on the cpu will be around 145F. The lags, no sound and reboot from unlock screen happens at any time.
I haven't tried tried running tune in radio in the pause mode on pacman yet but it did stop the lagging, no sound and rebooting from the lock screen on other ROMs.

40-45 damn i only have 15 running with 343 apps on my phone and a script from v6 that allows me to run up to 70 but I don't. By rule android phones are usually limited to 15 apps running unless you have a script that overrides it like v6 so I don't know how you have that many running. That's probably the problem right there.

The processes count includes android, launcher and all the stuff that runs with ROM not just apps

That's still way too many . I checked mine on using settings/app/running processes and got 21 running. I checked it with system tuner and got 18 processes running. I have never had 40-45 processes with this phone running ever and I have a script that will allow me to do it if I wanted so something is off with your rom or phone.

Okay for some reason at the time system tuner pro widget showed 40/40 first and second numbers were always equal. Since I was playing with kernels now I get uneven numbers like 18/39 and such like below, wish I had a screen shot of when it was equal

Phone locking up on Black screen

So my phone has been having these weird lock ups when it's in deep sleep it will just stay locked on a black screen and I would have to pull the battery. I will list the roms I have used and the trouble shooting I have done. I think it might be something with TW since CM10 by Hakcenter works perfect and does not lock up even after 3 weeks of testing but I can't stand the volume bugs and microphone bugs so I couldn't keep it as a daily.
Trouble shooting
-I have not under volted or over volted any roms
-I have not under or over clocked the roms. They run at 300Mhz Min and 1000Mhz Max
- Switch governors from Pegasu to Smartassv2
- Tried 4 different Roms SHOStock v1.0 and v1.1, Project X 3.3, 3.4 and 3.6, Recalked in JB Latest Deodex, Jellyverse Latest
- I am NOT running any lockscreens
- Rotation setting is always set to manual aka auto rotation is off
- Latest PRL for Metro PCS
- Tried 3 Diff kernels for TW Agats Based and avoided 1.4.0 due to bugs
- Tried installing apps one by one painstakingly slow and they're not the culprits
- I am not running DS Powersaver
-Agats 1.3 and 1.4.2F Kernel

How do you recognize its locked up? Trying to power on? Does it show any light or flicker? Or just doesn't come on when hitting power button?
Mine I thought was locking up and such and it was my power button choosing when to respond

The screen wont turn on from the power button but the power button works flawlessly when it doesn't lock up. I apply about 60-70% of the button down and it will unlock so the button is on point.

I have been through 2 phones with power buttons and the first time as you (not saying your ISN'T locking g up) I thought mine was locking up but it was the power button... So I had to plug it into a charger to power it on and then unlock.... Then ofcourse somebody introduce to me the app gravity that made me not need it.... Atleast until I got a new one

Yeah I had that problem with one of my old replacement S2's but thats not the case here. I checked it and I use gravity screen as well and it still locks up lol.

Did you try sxtp's kernal 0.5? I have been using that one and I get 1/10th the lockups I was getting with the ones cooked into the roms.
IMO, when you root and change roms, you have to expect a few lockups every now and then. Just part of the game with my phone.

I never once experienced a lock up like these prior to jellybean roms. I'm thinking it's something to do with TW since CM with JB 4.2.2 works flawlessly.

I thought I saw you post in the CM thread you were getting lockups with it too?

That CM thread i just offered advice to others to avoid lockups from what I've read. I'm pretty sure I didn't post it was happening on CM though.
Edit: Oh I did on the nightlies but that was dirty flashing the Official over the gentlemen's CM.

I'm the exact opposite, on TW roms no lockups ever, but on CM I always get 1 or 2 a day guaranteed.

Back up device to you're PC and Odin gb27 rooted full restore one click...
I think a clean slate would help...
Also...I would imagine , since you're a knowledgeable member , that you wipe data,cache,dalvik..when flashing. But do you ever go in and format the system...you can actually format everything but sdcards..and be alright. I never do. I just format the system. So nothing gets left behind.
Just my thoughts...on what I would do in this situation..good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Yes sir I've done all those. I even had to do the whole GB27 rooted full restore a few times not due to this problem but due to the Yellow triangle issue.

I agree, I've been looking around too but I keep stumbling upon the same types of replies. It's usually about messing with the cpu, a different lock screen or rogue app.

Been running CM10.1 The gentlemen's edition and have not had a single lock at all.

Locked up twice since flashing a TW rom. Does anyone know anything that could be causing this? What exactly is the google services glitch that i hear can cause this on some phones?

What kernel are you running? I know some people have problems with Agat's v1.4.2 and v1.3 seems to work better for them.

It happens on both 1.3 and 1.4.2F. I really can't seem to figure out what is causing it and i don't think a logcat will actually show anything.

So your device is unresponsive, even when plugging in a charger? If this is the case, you may not even be able to grab a logcat. I would say this definitely sounds like a kernel issue, but on all those different versions... doesn't lead me to believe that's the case. And this only happens on TW based roms? Multiple Roms by multiple developers... Do they all include the AIO mod? I ran into major issues placing my theme into the latest AIO.
