[Q] More game Incompatibility issues - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I said in a previous thread about having some incompatibility issues with games on my stock rom, such as Fifa 13 amongst others.
Well I bought MC3 the other day but did not install it as I decided to unlock my bootloader so I could overclock as I had heard MC3 can lag a bit as standard.
I did it via the official Sony website but it semi bricked my phone, in the sense that it rebooted but would just go to a black screen with a notification bar showing a clock and nothing else. I managed to install DoomKernel and then installed Xperia NXT LE for gaming and the phone is working better than ever overclocked to 1.5ghz.
I have just gone to install MC3 and it is saying 'not compatible' now. I checked the build prop and everything is saying R800i as it should, pretty much the same as the Xperia NXT 1.3 build prop listed in the recent build prop thread. Is there anything specific I can change in this to fix this problem? Quite annoying that I bought this game and cannot play it now!!

Clear the cache and data of the google play and try again. That's normally how to fix this kind of problem. I'm guessing you know where to find it under settings > applications > manage.

Tried it loads of times. Cleared all caches, data, dalvik cache, rebooted several times. Still no luck. Doesn't make sense how android works sometimes!

Jeez...that is really odd...I'll see if I cant find something more...have you tried asking in the general android section?

If you want a quick fix, just change your build.prop into a galaxy nexus.

Many apps from Play Store not compatible

Anyone else finding this phone is not compatible with a lot of android apps?. All the apps I purchased (about 75) were compatible with my Samsung Galaxy W. Now half of them, if not more, are not compatible with the S2X. A phone that's twice as powerful.
Is there any way of fixing this?

Your dpi needs to be that of a native resolution. 160 240 or 320.
Or you can use a hacked market and Google services framework which always returns a constant value for your display resolution.

The second link looks more promising. I've tried a couple and have gotten a lot of other errors not related to compatibility. So I modded my own. It has simply JUST the dpi hack nothing more nothing less.

i flashed the 2nd link, i can now see all my apps and update them (sweet!) but still missing the movies and book section of the market and the categories of apps like "top apps" and "top paid" only show like 5 apps... weird. i posted there to see what he says.
UPDATE: I can confirm the second link works perfectly. The whole market is there, all apps are there, displays all currently installed apps and able to update all apps.

[Q]Play Store Download/Update Error

As the title stated, i was wondering hav u ever encounter this kind of problem before?? If so do ya hav any idea how to fix it?? For me it happen 8 out of 10 app i was trying to download/update. Any hint or ideas to fix this problem do share.

For most Play Store errors I do this: uninstall update, then let it update again. Works for me.
Here are some methods you can try (not 100% guarantee working)
1. Reinstall Play Store
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Clear Play Store data
Did all of that, but still...meh..:banghead:

He means like have you modified any "values" in build.prop or anywhere else and also check and see if your DPI is at 240 as this will also cause issues

Must be the provider's fault
Because DNS is simply the only reason why this would happen on data connection and your hosts are obviously not blocking Google (why would someone even do that lol)

You can download flashtool and flash the 2.3.3 ftf. There's a 2.3.4 ftf as well but google sync is broken. If you don't care about gsync then go with it. Seqrch flashtool for 2011 xperia devices on here or on google. Then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184897 and look under ftfs for the one you want. Then shut down your phone hold the back button and plug in tge usb to cpu. Click on flash (af lightning bolt symbol in top left and choose the ftf. WARNING:THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA AND SINCE YOU DONT WANT TO ROOT YOU CANT BACK THEM UP WITH TITANIUM BACKUP.

CM7 & stock cdma touchpad idea

Hi guys I have been reading in the forum lately that stock cdma 2.3.3 is basically aosp build? my question is can we then use cm7 which i think is more or less aosp build and the cdma 2.3.3 build to make a cm7 with working touchpads? or is the problem cm7 kernal??

That's a good question I've been wondering that myself and here's a little something I found out while running a rom (2.3.3 Verizon with timescape) that from is from the UK firmware which has the .145 baseband which is also included into the cm7 builds I was looking at the build props of both roms and noticed the base and was the same, so my thoughts were rebasing a cm7 build on that 2.3.3 gingerbread .145 baseband would everything still work? Or would there be to many problems with cm7 sources and stock sources causing it not to load?

isn't the baseband independent from the rom and just the firmware for the modem?
i thought the framework.jar is the problem or what i thought lately that the synaptics touchpad drivers aren't in the cm7 kernel.

The touch pads and game pads do work but they don't work (if that makes sense) some games the game pad will work I.e off road legends sonic 1 but like gta series they don't register, I found an app that checks if the touch pads register it shows two yellow squares when you touch the middle "analog sticks" so they work and register but not on every game like sonic for instance the direction pad we can control him the x button makes him jump as well as pressing up on the left touch pad so they are there but not constant if you guys follow what I'm saying

Has someone tried with semc prop values? As for Rockstar Games games (lol) you need these values
Code:
ro.semc.product.model=R800i
ro.semc.product.name=Xperia PLAY
ro.semc.product.device=R800
ro.product.model=R800i
If still they don't get activated, it should be a framework issue, rather than a build.prop one

Lol that line (mod.touchmpad.startfrom1=1) is a custom property that will be ignored by the system unless you implement farenheith's code into the framework (that isn't compatible with pre-Ics frameworks unfortunately).
The only chances we have are those values (and fixing the others of course)
