GTA 3 still crashes....

I have tried with different roms and kernels and after driving in the first mission the game crashes and goes out.
Any recommendation?

mines running fine, did you buy the game? i would suggest contacting rockstar

Im running CM7 Alpha 2. No problems with GTA3
You should wipe all and fresh install a rom. Then install GTA3 first. An app could prevent it from working properly. And test the game after every 2 or 3 app installs, then you can narrow it down.

Clear data... then reinstall the data files

Hang tight guys. Rockstar is working on a patch for our exact model right now. I have been in talks with them over several days while they tried to patch it. They released a patch today but did it for the international gs2. I forgot to tell them it was the T989.
They just told me a patch would come tomorrow for us and they're working right now to white list our exact model.

I found the problem. This game did not work because I had the nvidia plugin activated on chainfire. Once the "none" option is selected the game will work perfectly.

Talk With Video Chat

Hi
Has anyone been able to get google talk with video chat working?
This is for my girlfriends phone so we can video chat (i have a sensation). I have tried all the methods in this thread and also tried paul o brien's (modaco) gtalk 1.3 installer app from the market but they all result in force closes.
So im hoping someone has had success and can point me in the right direction.

i havn't tried gtalk but if video calling over the internet is just what you want then i suggest you use skype. Its working fine on this fone.

Yeah i have tried Vtok but it is not much good. It hasnt been updated for 9 months and it doesnt work very well. Skype is what we are using at the minute but it doesnt have the ease of use that gtalk has.
Im sure samsung will provide an update for this........ eventually

Why do you think Skype isn't intuitive? I prefer it over Google Talk actually..

I've tried gtalk 1.3 with audio/video chat. It doesn't work!! Webcam works, switch webcams works, the user hears my voice but I don't hear his voice. When I close chat I have to reboot the smartphone because audio doesn't work!!!

Its just my personal opinion really. i think skype running in the background all the time chomping battery and data when we already have google talk installed and i just think the google talk app is small and neat... Especially on ICS on my sensation
Hopefully a dev might look into this when they make roms for this phone.

Modern Combat 3 Free for SGS2 users

Seems like Modern combat 3 is free for SGS2 users via samsung app. Posting in case anyone wants the game.

Use Opera Mobile 11 to download the file, the stock browser(unless modified) doesn't download zip/apk/mp3(among many other extensions)

Correct only for the Galaxy S II or a Smartphone/tablet with a Mali-400 GPU, btw guys not even the iphone4s version of the game has the visual effect this one has, like motion blur/bloom etc etc, Mali-400>All other GPU's(exept for the tegra3 duh xD)

I'm using Maxtone not stock.... I can download but I can only.find a html file to
Download .. Tried.opening as text, no luck

Not free for me here. I'm using Sprint version...Epic 4G Touch. :/

I really fancy trying this game but I don't want Samsung apps!

Great Game
Probably one of the best FPS games in the store, definitely worth the 50 pence I paid for it. I prefer it to shadowgun as it feels slightly less linear. The controls aren't so bad once you get used to them and fiddle around with the customization options. And best of all it runs great on the SGS2 !!!

Just wanna say did a nandroid, superwipe, installed and waited 15 mins. No problems outside of the known (Orientation Switch ftw).
Its super smooth, battery life is similar to TDJs ROMs and i love chrome beta. Raver did a great job.

You know what? I did that, and it's actually what led me to ask the question. I tried IgCamera and QuickSnap, but neither worked. I believe you're right about there likely not being one. Not only is the current camera normally functional, but the issue we're having with our "beta" ICS is certainly not anticipated by developers of this kind of app.
I am not omniscient, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask in Q&A.

You are the man (or woman...)! That pretty much makes this ROM complete for me (at least until the final community releases)
I wonder if there's any chance of one of the first posts being modified to include a list of known bugs and workarounds/fixes?
Edit: Video still won't record, but I'll at least have the still camera. If no one else has, I'll see if I can get some logcats linked on the Dev thread.

This rom is pretty freaking great. can't really judge battery since I've only had it since about 6 this morning but super smooth and no big issues.

Thanks for camera zoom that works perfect. dont have the gallery problem so far. so you rock.

I've have the issue, tried clearing all cache and fixing permission to no avail. I'm sure it's happening for the same reason the camera is having the issues. It's due to the kernel. I'm sure there us a 3rd party app we can get, so no biggie.

although, I can't seem to find the DSP effects.

What would be the best way to flash this rom? Should I use superwipe? How many times? I've heard some people have to flash several times. And I also saw somewhere that it wipes all the data on your internal and external storage. This can't be true.

i hacked in the eq effects from the htc resound how is this diffrent from the htc resound crap hack that was posted earlier?
Because i did it from there Ics and the htc source

I wanted to share how I flashed which worked perfectly.
"Flashed:
[1] Made TB of all apps
[2] Rebooted in CWR
[3] Nandroid backup
[4] Wipe Data Factory reset
[5] Wipe Dalvik Cache
[6] Flashed samsung_ultimate_kernel_cleaning_script_by_lippol9 4

[9] Reboot Phone
[10] Let sit about 10 minutes after reboot was fully done

where is the dsp Eq? is it not an app anymore?
is it built into a specific player, or do they work with any app's built in eq?

ICS update a huge mistake?

So I finally went ahead and updated my s2 with the ICS update and I'm sort of 'bleh' about it. After I first updated I was having a huge wifi issue with the wifi disconnecting after a minute or so then connecting then disconnecting etc etc. Once I got that fixed I've figured out that I'm just not that excited with the stock ICS, anybody else have mixed feelings? Or did everybody root/flash it immediately? Lol

Have you tried factory resetting after the update? Because it does clear a lot of the issues..

I did the reset and I have cleared up most of the issues, it's just the overall feel of ICS which is 'bleh' to me I guess. Maybe once I root it and put a nom nom twang on it I'll change my mind. I was just curious if people who went from a rooted/flashed s2 to the stock ICS were a little disappointed like I was.
From my s2 (stock ICS)

I definitely wasn't disappointed in what ICS offers.

Eh I'm not too impressed with it either. Don't see much of a difference from gb except for the animations, the long press home for recent apps(which i never use). I didn't really want to update but since no one is working on gb roms or themes i decided to update

For you guys feeling underwhelmed-- are you using the stock Samsung launcher? Because that will leave you feeling like ICS was a minor upgrade. Try Apex launcher, free in Google Play. It's going to give you an ICS experience. Good luck!

The ICS update is completely and totally worthless as long as it still has TouchWiz on it. AOSP/AOKP is the way to go if you want the real ICS experience.

u a troll? i flash the stock rooted ICS from Mr. X and i been trying to making it lag and so far its running like a champ! nothing wrong with it, everything work as it should, i felt bad for those user with galaxy nexus, now they got nothing on us except for screen size.

Maybe they were talking of the TouchWiz infrastructure, not only the launcher. I have to disagree though, to each there own taste. For now Touchwiz ROMS got AOSP beat in reliability and everything generally works (aka, Darkside vs AOKP or CM9) Reason being, Touchwiz was made and developed for the SG2, buy highly paid programmers and organizations. AOSP is more grass roots, its a labor if luv, for the most part. Ill take more time, but at the end, AOSP will be the one to have!!

Actually i like touchwiz, except the launcher. Im on aokp right now and its definitely an awesome rom, however im finding myself missing the tw music player, and the swipe to call or text,
