At the moment I'm using MildWild 4.3 bases on Oxygen on my Desire, wich has App2SD integrated in the ROM.
Now I tried to move to MildWild 5.8 based on CyanogenMod 7.2., wich has just the option to install Apps on the SD card and doesn't use the ext-Partition. When I install S2E (simple2ext) my Desire gets stuck on the HTC-Logo while rebooting. I have a 32 GB SD-card with a 2 GB ext3/4 partition (tried both).
Does anybody have the same problem or a solution for me?

First reboot after using s2e takes upto 10 min......u should wait...if it takes more time then there might be problem in ur rom...flash a new one
Whichever 2 ext app I used, in the settings was a checkbox to use ext4 partition, first time I ran it I missed this and it hung on boot, sounds the same as your situation.
I just restored the nandroid backup which I'd just made, ticked the box and rebooted, all its now fine.

A read this in the discription of S2E. The last time I waited for at least 20 min, nothing happend.
At least I'm not the only one with this problem. I think I will start a new attempt with MildWild 6.0 and give link2sd a try. Thanks so far.:good:
Finnally works
It works now, with MildWild 5.8 and S2E.
All I had to do was removing the A2SD script from the ROM befor flashing it (path: \MildWild CM-5.8 Stable.zip\system\etc\init.d\), acording to this discription.

I have a problem with InsertCoin A2SD+ 1.0.8. After flashing everything seems OK but it shows me Desire's default wallpaper and then.. nothing. Nothing happens. Can't see the buttons etc only wallpaper and top status bar. I flashed it 2 times already and still nothing. Of course I wiped all data/cache.
This may have something to do with S-OFF?
SD Card
2.5 GB FAT32
1 GB EXT3
~100 MB EXT3
~100 MB SWAP
Your SD card partitions are not appropriate. You need two partitions: fat32 for you stuff and 1gb ext2/3/4 for apps, both primary. Nothing more, like third partition or swap.
Right after I wrote first post I changed partitions on SD card to ~2.80 GB FAT223 and 1GB EXT4 both primary, wiping, flashing and STILL ALL THE SAME
Hm.. Then?
- Do you have the correct hboot?
- Did you wipe Dalvik as well?
- Maybe a corrupt download?
I'm out of ideas.

Nope, I downloaded it 2 times.
I wouldn't use ROM manager for things like this. Try wiping/flashing manually, in recovery. ROM manager likes to cause problems to users.

Rom manager is a really bad software. Better use gparted.
are you following correct order for partition??
1st fat 32
2nd ext 3/4
if you have windows then try partitioning with some software like easus partition manager..also order is very important
also see to it tht you are downloading the rom for stock hboot..the rom is available for stock hboot and cm7 hboot

Do you use the recoomended radio? 5.17.05.23?
You can download from here.
This one is recommended.
I remember my friend flashed this rom with and older radio and he got bootlops/hangs - flashed the latest one and it worked.
Good day everyone!
Anyone who can help me on my problem? I tried flashing mine to Cool3Dsense 3.0, but i got stuck in the htc logo, what i did was to install the zip file which i downloaded from their thread, and followed by the stock hboot file coz im still using the stock hboot, I'm on the latest radio, have flashed mine to MIUI, cm7, villain, insertcoin, all of them worked well aside from this rom. I cant post on their thread because i need 10 more posts as a newbie to post in there. Hope you can help me guys! This is my first post btw. Thank you!

hi guys!!
im not allowed to make a post in the development forums, so i make here a quest:
im using runny 5.0 by sebastian... great rom....
my quest is: how big is your swap of your ext when you use roms like sebastians runny?
thanks
I guess you mean your SWAP partition when you partition the SD...i've set it to 0 based on a root guide that is highly recommended and successful among german users. Works perfectly fine. I also have an ext4 with 1,5GB and Runny runs like hell
Ok thanks dude!! Closed

I wanna ask something about the ROM, actually the bug I found is in all 3.5 sense ROMs.
Every time I pull down the notification menu, the usb connection restarts, it's very annoying.
Is there anyone with this bug?
A quest? Oh goodie, a RPG game! OK, I'm ready! What's the first quest? Will I get new armor or cool weapons?
while on the subject of Runny 5, I'm kinda curious about this ROM, while still being a tiny boot noob-ish. I think it might be working when I have revolutionary hboot and 1GB ext3, but I would be calmer if someone could tell me it will/won't work

So I should partition my sd with fat/ext4, do a full wipe and just install runny? I currently have ext3 and don't feel like copying all my music back to sd card... do you think it would work just as well with stock hboot and ext3? I saw it on rom manager (didn't have any problems yet with it) and would give it a go

I think it will work (boot up) with a ext 3, but sebastian recommend a ext 4, so i dont know... Just give a try... At first you have to wipe all user data, cache and dalvik... Then you flash the rom.. after this you flash the script (a2sdx v3 you can find it in the runny thread)
Its better if you use a ext 4 partition... Its not so.difficult to format the partition.. or?

Hi all,
Sorry - I know you get a lot of "which is best" but I've been going around in circles looking at all the different ROMS
My needs:
Wifeys's phone keeps running out of memory.... the old story
want to replace the std ROM with one excluding bloatware
want to use apps2SD to make best use of limited space
Need a Stable ROM not the latest and greatest, just a fast stable ROM (Android version doesn't matter - she'll be using it for photos, mail, txt and facebook)
Don't want to be updating it in future - just one stable ROM to put on and forget.
Please could you offer suggestions
Many thanks in advance

I am in the exact same situation but I do have the marvelc (MetroPCS). I have tried MESSYSENSE and insink71's ROM but don't know enough to disable the A2SD scripts on my own. I have the bootloader unlocked, but S-ON; installed clockworkmod recovery, and upgraded to hboot 1.10.
I have a 4GB sdcard which I want to partition in 3GB FAT32 and have 1GB internal memory.
My wife wants me to spend $100+ in one of the newer phones but for what she uses the phone for the Wildfire S with 1GB internal memory would really make her happy and save me some dough! So I guess a stock ROM with init.d and rooted should do the trick once I run CRONMod INT2EXT+
Help please!

Doing it now, it's stuck in the first HTC screen, the one that displays HTC in bright green, before it goes into the the softer green font and displays the carrier. That's where it takes a long time or on the one after?
518MB primary partition formatted in EXT3, about 3.2GB in FAT32, primary and first partition. Installed your ROM after full wipe, ran the script and formated sd-ext like it says. Boot loop, after the MetroPCS logo it reboots back into the HTC quietly brilliant splash screen. What the heck could be happening???? I'm S-ON but unlocked. Could that be it?
I can confirm it's the script because I flashed only your ROM and the phone booted OK. Will try running the script again after 1 boot to see if that works. The only thing left to try is that the OP of CRON's thread says that some phones have problems and to mount /system before flashing the scripts.
No luck, boot loop. One thing that I don't understand is why doesn't is why programs like Link2SD cannot see my sd-ext partition. Could that be it?

MW9.5 is very stable. How did you partition your SD card? Suggest you to wipe everything, re-partition if needed and flash. Everything should be working just fine.
Alternatively, you can try other MW ROMs like the one based on CM or oxygen. They're working perfectly too.

You are probably low on space because you are still on stock hboot.
Nandroid backup and change hboot using fastbout commands, search for guides. There are custom hboots posted in that thread if your search. Or just use something like cm7r2 hboot.
512mb is also quite small, you can use at least 1gb.
Check everything is working by installing another app like diskusage to browse all your partitions.
