This is for those who care. The Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus is safe to flash on Sprint! Don't know good it would work because of the 4G sim card it uses.

If this is true, I'm going to make it happen, ASAP.
Since it's not, and "Megan" from Sprint is obviously either just new, or a complete idiot, I'm gonna stick with my ET4G and be happy, and use my wife's Gnex work phone whenever she's not looking.

Definitely not possible. In order to provision a phone on Sprint you either:
Need to have the ESN/MEID in the Sprint system, and only certain Sprint personnel can do this, or
Illegal activity of which XDA does not approve.
Long and short of it - Sprint reps are never to be trusted on these things. They only know what is in a script -and when they can't find it they say whatever they can to make you happy.

Laughing at the people who jumped ship to Verizon. Hows that 2gb cap workin for ya and your inferior phone? I told y'all to wait.
The 544 GPU has the capability of clocking up to 2.5 times faster than the 540. If this is true, then I'll be excited. But... I'm not switching to an lte device until lte hits my area.

Does anyone remember the Nexus ads for Sprint that said 1.5 ghz and we thought it was a typo? I know it is just alot of speculation. But, since we probably won't see the phone launch until June it could make sense. The article said the processor is capable of 1.8 but would probably be underclocked. Maybe we are seeing an early build for the Sprint version. Anyone else think that makes sense?
Here is a link to the Sprint ad.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/5303/sprint-ad-announces-galaxy-nexus-with-15-ghz-soc
And here is link to the wiki for the Nexus that shows it its currently running 1.2
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy_Nexus
The other possibility is this its the google tablet we keep hearing about. It would make sense for it to have a huge graphics processor.

Until they replace the awful screen of the original GNex, I'll way. The 'mesh' look is too distracting to look at.
Since nobody had mentioned it, it seems like it isn't important, the camera. Compared to the e4gt, its camera is lesser. Slightly bigger screen and higher resolution but reported its like looking through a screen door. A 5mp camera that chokes on 1080p. No option for a sd card. You will be stuck on 3g until lte finally makes it to your area. Okay so it has a slightly better and faster gpu and cpu, IMO, that's one of the few things it has in its favor. Ics, more meh. You'll need more CPU/GPU for that.
For the comment of having a CPU that's faster than you, that means nothing about your computer, right?
Yea just like the 5mp camera on og epic was better than of evo ... it was but guess what everyone thinks 8mp is better but it comes to sensor and such .... it still is a phone not a dslr the camera will never be that good

Has anybody heard of this? I did a quick lazy glance here and didn't see it posted so I thought I would. Looks pretty amazing with new features and improving Gnow and improved battery life for Android users. Of course the main concern is in order for us to experience we might have to switch phones or of course wait on our devs to do their amazing work. Thoughts??

Your point? We all have to move on at some point. By the time this phone gets 4.2 we'll have some really amazing devices on the market that will make this phone seem like it was from the stone age. Just like this phone makes that HD2 seem like its from the stone age. Idk how people are still using that thing. That snapdragon CPU was a boat compared to other SoCs like hummingbird during its time.

I think my next one will be a nexus.. There should be some nice ones coming out soon..
I was thinking.. I'm sure that the galaxy Nexus is a shoe in to get 4.2 and if it can handle the software I am sure that this phone can too!.. It's unlike that tmobile will put in the resources to update this phone after JB but it might be a slim possibility.. Especially since we will have the option whether or not to have OEM skins

Officially I don't think this phone is getting past ICS. I have high doubts about an official TW JB update for it. Only the international GSII has been officially confirmed. As we all know that phone and every other GSII has the exynos SoC so I wouldn't doubt the others can get it easily. But since we have the s3.. idk.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
And I just wanna state that it's obvious that Google is listening to what people want and trying to add it to software updates! We have all been talking about how nice it would be if we had a choice of AOSP or OEM.. And voila! Google goes ahead and appears to be implementing it!.. This is totally opposite of other mobile operating systems (not naming names) that always hold back the features... This is why I will probably stay loyal to android for a long time!

Anyone else at least confused on Samsung's thought process here?

Same as s3 mini a smaller budget friendly version of a popular device. The plus will probably fall to the low mid range devices similar to the level of the transform or moment or galaxy rival etc.

I'm not sure why but it's probably because they got left over parts they never put to use so they probably just slap them together into a mid range phone and make whatever they can out of the parts they wouldn't be able to get rid of anyways. Just my thought... if you can scrap older parts or left overs into a device you can use to sell via a carrier on a contract for 50 to 100$ maybe even free, why not?
Maybe looking to corner the market on pre-paid carriers with the left-over parts as mentioned before. Also, with apple rumors on a lower cost iphone for overseas markets, maybe this will be marketed as the H2H competitor.
We got Jelly already anyway so who cares? I mean if FL16 isn't good enough for a daily I don't know what is.

So why is this called Plus? Seems the same as the SII but with less storage? Same screen size, same camera's, both are dual core. Why would you go with this over a a SII?
I guess the positives of it rocking nearly the same hardware is that if the older S2 models don't get 4.2.x updates... the S2 + will be a sign of hope.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Looks like the price will be around $450usd (if its priced similarly to other countries by exchange rate) so itll be a lower mid range device on par with s3 mini slightly higher price than s3 and lower than prevail. So on contract it should come in between $99 and free(if it goes to us carriers that arent prepaid)

Who the hell knows. Probably size constraints cdma devices have alot more crap inside them than gsm does. International phones have one gsm hspa+ 21 or 42 antenna vs cdma has a 1x/3g plus wimax or 1x separate 3g and wimax. Then theres all the other parts in there wifi antenna bluetooth SoC RAM etc nfc chips are actually quite big. The s3 has it built into the battery because of that and the note 2 has it built into the battery cover with connectors that press against leads on the back housing
Edit: it also has a very limited range like maybe 2" MAX so it cant be embedded in the device it needs to be almost at the surface to prevent interference from the other hardware. Its range is so limited it wont eve work thru some phone cases
