My battery is running out after 2 years and more usage. What is an excellent replacement for desire Z/G2 battery?
Thanks
Anker 1600 mAh. Have been using it over 6 months now. Easily keeps my phone up at least 30% more than stock battery.

I bought a HTC original battery from eBay for the Incredible S for about 8 EUR. It's the same battery as ours, only with more capacity, 1450mah.
I also had an old battery, at least two years old. The new one's performance is incredible, almost two days with medium usage. Using Gen.Y VisionX R3.

I plan on picking up a new battery soon, recently the phone has been randomly rebooting. I read this might be a battery issue, so a fresher, longer battery life can't hurt.

I've found that the problem with random reboots are the battery contacts. Try reinserting the battery a few times.
I'm using a Mugen 1800mAh, best money I ever spent on my DZ. Running a nice stable and optimized ROM I was getting over 40 hours battery life which was amazing with my usage patterns. It still fits into the phone using the standard rear cover also.

I got myself an anker 1600 on eBay
Can't wait to try it. Hopefully this fixes my random rebooting. Can anyone report back if the new battery fixed this problem?
UPDATE: IT fixed my random rebooting! my phone works great now. no problems what so ever. best money i ever spent

Good to know, thanks for sharing!
There are so many crappy "high-capacity" batteries coming from china... We don't know who to trust.
Thanks!
Hey guys, just bought an Ankers 1600mAh battery, does anyone know a good procedure for replacing batteries? And I don't mean take the back off... :silly: Do you suggest I do a full charge, wipe battery stats, replace? What are your thoughts? Thanks very much
HERE ARE SOME GOOD TIPS
personally i charge full the first run (overnight) then reboot in the am and drain to around 10% reboot and charge full overnight and reboot in am. then use it like always.
this is just what i have done for years and many will tell you there is no need to train any lithium based batteries... but it works for me so this is how i do it
most will also say that wiping battery stats wont help as they are cleared on a reboot but i do find myself doing it anyway (i have lots of pointless habits i guess)
I run galilio evo4 2000 mah for more than a year.
I run a capacity test, I got around 1600 mah for both battery after about a year of use. Witch is very good.
I got 2 batteries and a charger for 20 $.
Do the rotation of oem and those galilio to keep them in shape.

Is it me or does the OP say in his title that it's about a 3500mah battery and then discuss the 2500mah battery. What's the 3500mah battery tag line about?

It's definitely a 3500mah battery. Just an typo I'd assume.
The back is thicker than the phone.. no thanks I will just continue to carry a spare battery.
These kind of batteries suck. If you need a decent backup just get an external battery. You can get an 8900mAh external that will last you more then you need. I always use mine when going on hiking or longer trips.. Generally where you would have a backpack of some smaller stuff. You do not need something like this for a days worth of common use.
I had one of those for my hero, get a big boost in life,. I went a three days without charge
What the hell is the point? I am getting nearly 20 hours of life out of my stock battery with two days of business use, and wifi. That looks awful as well.

You must not really use your phone like I do. Started at 8 today and its now 11 and im down to half battery even with overclock widget clocking it to 200Mhz when the screen is off
I bought one of these when the g1 came out and it gave me about 2 days off the charger. But im not sure how well this is gonna work with this phone. I really want to know how it worked with people who bought the smaller battery
If you dropped down that much you need to check your syncs and what using data. Is your phone set to cdma? I'm at 87% with 5 hours off the charger. Might as well solve whatever is eating up your battery first.

I take my phone off the charger around 6 every mourning and I don't lose the first bar till 1030 or so.that's with lots of text, internet, and some phone calls. Not a complaint here
I remember everyone was talking all this hype about the extended Seidio battery for the Mogul... I bought one... and was completely unsatisfied, I sent it back in, the mfg, acted surprised and sent me another one.. .Honestly even the replacement was exactly the same.. The Stock OEM battery lasted longer, and was more reliable.
Unless something has changed with Seidio since then, (which I highly doubt) I won't be "upgrading" my battery -
- I'm with the other member, I'de be more inclined to get some kinda external battery, or something. Too bad the USB connection changed on this new EVO 4g.. cuz my IOGEAR AA battery emergency charger is SICK! hmm.,.. actually i'm going to look for a USB converter, so that I can keep this iogear around.
Woah! I've been waiting to finally see the design on this as I've owned Seidio extended batteries in the past on other devices. The design on that back is a definite no go for me. It's horrific! I just can't F'up a rather well designed device with that hunchback. No way!
will people start complaining when they want 3 days of batter life? And do you guys not go home at night or day or evening (depending on when you work) to charge your phones? my phone with heavy use last about 8to9 hours.. and light to no use 20hrs.. i charge it every night..
i have the same battery used for the hero from seidio, so i hope they give the option to purchase just the back battery door. If not, i will have to wait for nakedcellphone from ebay to get his Mugen extended battery line (which have very decent door designs) and he sells em separate.
No need to drop 60 again, right?
had one for my htc diamond.. ive been checking the site everyday for that.. the back is bulky because of the battery size but like whoever stated.. you can go nearly three days without a charge depending on use.. i love those batteries
Wow. I guess it works for some. Personally I keep a micro usb cable at my desk at work. That + car charger and I'm never far from a source to charge my phone
Has anyone tried these extended batteries? The 1900mah Anker batteries are popular for the Evo 3D but I just did a search in this forum and couldn't find anything.

My friend ordered it but has not received it yet. I use the same brand in my Evo 3D and it's noticeably better than stock.
I replaced my original evo 4g battery that was over two years old with this one and I noticed a big differents in battery life. Also only payed $15 for 2 battery's and a wall charger off eBay.

I just posted a thread about these actually, I highly recommend, amazing batteries.
I've been using one of these (bought the 2 pack with charger) for roughly 6 months, and have been very pleased with it.
I can't confidently say that it is much better than a NEW stock battery, but considering my stock battery was over a year old, the Anker definitely improved my battery life, vs the stock old one.
I was hesitant about buying a non OEM battery, but I'm very pleased with mine, and for the cost was well worth it.
I have to +1 these being amazing batteries. Got mine for $13.99 on ebay with a desktop charger. I have gotten 24+ hours out of one charge. Highly recommend it!
I should be getting mine 2 pack with wall charger on monday. Can't wait!!!

Got it in today!!
The charger is interesting, it should fit just about any battery as the prongs will slide left and right, where ever the + and - is on the battery. Then also the bottom part that holds the battery is on a spring and you just pull down the length of the battery.
It charged one of the to 89% pretty fast, probably an hour. Had to take it off for a emergency call.
Ill be able to give a better test soon. I need a fresh flash of CM7 anyways, too much bog and FC's. Probably not good when the main process FC's.
I am still running the same battery that I took off the charger when I made that post. I am at 1 day and 3 hours with 30% left. I haven't really been making any calls, just some txts, most of it was me playing around and flashing different things to make my ICS experience better, using drew's P7. The battery went down fast from 89% till about 60%, but the other battery I got took about double the time to fully charger than with how long this battery has been in my phone. I am excited so far, looks very promising. I think this was a worthwhile purchase, simply for the wall charger, to charge any phone battery!
I'm getting pretty great results with these batteries. I haven't been using my phone too much and lots of idle time. I took a fresh battery off at midnight and went right to sleep. I slept most of the day. When I got up it was at 81 I think after 14 hours. I used my phone here and there for some texts and some small phone calls. I started installing lots of apps and played around with Widgets and settings, it popped down to 59 around that time. I installed juice defender also and I think it only went down a few notches all night till the morning. I haven't done much today besides a couple dozen texts a short and then 20 min call. I'm updating a bunch of apps right now while typing this, its lagging a bit so its slow and took me a few min and lost 1% but I'm also updating 11 apps at once
I am running drews P7, I have been running unvisible tweaks, but I just installed the nifty tweak zip and popped in a fresh battery, so this may be even better battery life now that I got juicedefender and the nifty tweaks. Cant wait to see! Im also thinking about running one of the KANG CM7 roms, as I already got about this with stock battery, I think it could last 3 days if I went back to CM7. God, I can't wait for CM9 and custom kernels!!
Here is what my current up time is.

Does anybody play games on y'all evo with this kind of batterys?...
Games like spectral souls? .
What if I play this game over 3 hrs do y'all think the battery might get mest up? Or burn my phone?
Sent from my EVO 4G using Tapatalk
I rooted my Evo for the first time 8 days ago and I really like the ability to control more features of the phone and being able to try different roms. Before rooting I had poor battery life and I had hoped that rooting would help. I have tried MikG's, Tomatos Classic, and I am currently on Decks 1.3 with the Lee kernel.
My battery life is still very poor. If I make some phone calls or use the web (even on wifi) it might last 3 hours. I've read for hours about doing radio updates, but I am on the current one as far as I can tell.
Also, when rebooting today I went from 53% battery life to 21%. The reboot was fast and took less than a minute. I will post some screens.
Any ideas on how to fix my issue?

I got a couple new anker batteries off ebay. They should be here monday or tuesday. I hope it does the trick.
Anyone have any other possible solutions?
Try calibrating your battery. Your batterystats.bin file is on the data partition iirc, so when you wipe data you wipe that file. Doing so creates a new file upon boot, and if you don't calibrate properly then you'll have weird issues such as the fluctuating battery reading. The best option is to either calibrate or only flash when you're at 100%. Try calibrating to get there, then when you wipe and flash only do so fully charged. If not wiping data, you should be fine.
There are guides available on calibrating the battery, as well as a battery calibration app.
If you're getting extra batteries, I'd invest in a wall charger as well if you don't get one with the batteries you ordered. Charging your batteries in an external charger will eliminate any battery stats issues in the future.
Good luck!

Be sure to follow the full calibration technique. Charge to 100, wipe batterystats, drain without breaks, charge fully without breaks. Incorrectly calibrating will keep your phone in the same condition it was.
However the wall charger should eliminate those problems. If problems persist with all batteries after charging externally, it's something with your rom or your phone.

Im going to assume that the roms you are using are sense roms i know mikg is i tried it out with the anthrax kernal and had pretty good battery life. i have noticed though if you go with cm7.2 and a tiamat kernal i had the best battery. not sure if that will help or if it is a battery calibration issue.
I got the new anker batteries in the mail today. Charged one up and am trying it now. I will update later with the results.
Ok. So it was definitely a battery issue. On my second charge with my new anker batteries and after 11 hours of use im still at 68% battery life. So it has a potential to last 30 hours on one charge. I guess it just goes to show you that these batteries are meant to be replaced periodically. Thanks to all who tried to help me out!
Jake
I had very bad battery issues with my Evo 4g. bought 2 new batteries and now I get great battery life
Im currently at 40% battery life after 30 hours since charge. Little use though. Only 1.5 hours on calls and 1.5 hours with display on. And this is with a sense 3.5 rom! I wish I had bought new batts a while ago.
Hi there.

What's the best battery on the market in the Uk which isn't too expensive

The stock battery is the best out there. The other ones who claim to have more mah are just fake mah's.
You just can't put more mah's in the same size!
How old is your battery?, I bought a new one last week and I am now on 8 hours, with 58% juice left!
I'm using Redemption v1.0-Alpha, but also had VQ RC3.

Screen which is at 75%-80% usage even at 1/2 brightness
But its the fact that to get any performance on battery life at all out of my phone i have to not use it which is what I don't like about it or i have to have a realy dim screen.
Quick browsing of Facebook and tapatalk can easily drain 10%
Yes I did have it on stock rom but ICS has improved it a tiny bit
Have you tried to reflash the rom?
That may help sometimes. And otherwise try another rom, RC3 gave problems with me so now i use Redemption, works very smooth.
Yeah I have
I might try the calibration trick where you:
Turn your phone on and charge it for 8 hours or more
Unplug the charger
Turn your phone off and charge it for one hour
Unplug the charger
Turn on the phone and wait 2 minutes
Turn your phone off and charge it for one hour
Unplug, turn it on and use as normal. Your battery life should now be a lot better
See if it helps
if not I might try a few different roms
Cheers the replys
I have tried that also, and also whiped my battery stats with my old battery. But it never helped me.
Let us know if it helped you!
Will do
people are reporting that battery pulls at every turn off seem to help
How much do you actually use your phone to get 9 hours at 50% (display on time)?
It doesn't helps you to pulln the battery out. After restart you see about 5/10% more battery, but in a couple of minutes its at the same level before the pull
Well that was not with much use. Mostly on WIFI and sometimes 3g on. Some browsing and twitter/facebook.
Today i had left 3g all time on and used my phone as I alsways do.
Keep in mind this battery is new and has only be fully charged 3 times, so it doesn't have his full capacity.
See attached foto's!
Been on stock battery and ROM for the first year of my DHD, battery life was absolutely horrible.
By the time I got into running custom roms my stock battery no longer held a very good charge. I picked up a couple Andida batteries, they say they are rated for 1800mAh but after running some tests they are just about the same as a new stock battery.
Been running on them for a few months now and I get just over a full day with my usage habits.

Has the battery life decreased since you first got them? Or do you get the same result as in the beginning?
There's an app called battery calibration in the google play. It shud help with ur battery life problem, it calibrates the battery after every flash of a new rom
---------- Post added at 08:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:59 PM ----------
roms also can have a negative impact on battery so make sure that that isnt ur problem
No need fot that app. You can wipe the battery stats with EXT4/ CWM.
Hello,
I've had terrible battery life on my GSII for the longest time now. I've tried countless ROMs, Kernels, Modems, combinations and nothing has worked. At this point I'm fairly convinced it's a hardware issue. The cheapest/easiest route is to replace my battery. I know the Anker 1900 mah comes well recommended, but has anyone tried their 1750 mah model?
Here's the one I'm looking at specifically:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-Batte...726270?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3371b0867e
I'm hoping it's the "1900 mah" battery that's gotten so many good reviews, but properly labelled this time around. Any thoughts? Anyone have this battery?
Thanks!
I have the anker 1900mah. It is a tight fit. I didnt have any problems with it but case/cover extended battery are a more practical way to go.
Just buy a case/cover battery from ebay ... it will add another 2200mAh to your existing battery.. .while it is bulkier, it is not that unuseable. It will keep your phone powered for at least 8 hours under intense usage.... (a lot more hours if you do not much)... When the case battery is drained down, you can easily remove it and have your old phone back.
But to extend the life of your battery on your phone, you are better off running it down to 40% before attaching the extended case battery. The case battery will automatically charge your phone battery back to 100%, while it gets drained down. And itself will run out first. This way you minimize the time spent with the bulk.
I'm going to go ahead and order the 1750 mah later today. Once they come in I'll let you know how they perform!

For 2 months it was fine.. but after i starting loosing power.. according to Battery Monitor Anker after 4 months of use lost 34% of its max power...
